Given current events, I figured this would be somewhat appropriate to share.

Well the promises of literal genocide are contributing to making us terrified.
I actually can't stop thinking about how the losing party last election dressed like vikings and tried to break into the white house and the losing party this election are sharing suicide prevention hotlines

John Oliver platforms Palestinian voices as he advocates for voting for Harris.
If you live in a swing state, please properly consider your role in this election. Remember to distrust the polls, the projections - the presidential election will be infuriatingly close. Nothing is set in stone.
Please think about your queer friends and family, your community that includes people of colour, disabled people, poor people, immigrants. Evaluate the true historical value of what a protest vote does - compare it to the two candidates, one of which will be the president at the end of this final stretch.
Your vote matters. Please, treat it like it does.

In 2016 I was able to vote for the first time in a presidential election. But I didn’t have nearly enough knowledge about politics to be a well informed voter. I wasn’t required to take any politics classes in high school or college and I didn’t take any voluntarily. So, I voted third party and I’ve pretty much regretted pretty much everyday since.
In 2020 I was more informed but not much. Enough to know that I couldn’t vote third party. So I voted blue. And I’ve been paying more attention to politics more.
Now in 2024 I will be voting blue as much is available to on my ballot. I’m learning more and more everyday and growing to be a better citizen to fight for everyone.
I’ve even been thinking about getting some books (I just haven’t had time for reading recently) from the library so I can continue to grow and be better and do better for the country in which I live.

From the October 31, 2024 article:
“In the one place in America where women still have a right to choose, you can vote any way you want. And no one will ever know,” Roberts says in the ad as a woman on screen meets up with her husband after casting her ballot for Harris.
The voter winks at a fellow female voter as her husband asks if she made the “right choice.”
Republicans have responded to the video with outrage, with some claiming that a wife lying about her vote is as bad as an affair.
“If I found out Emma was going to the voting booth and pulling the lever for Harris, that’s the same thing as having an affair,” Fox News host Jesse Watters said on air Wednesday in a clip highlighted by Mediaite.
Other GOP members including Charlie Kirk said the thought was “nauseating.”

Exactly my whole point about how we need to get the fuck out there and VOTE. That was Hillary being many points ahead of Trump and everyone was like, "Ahh we got this, no biggie!" These numbers for Harris right now aren't even that high and even if they WERE it doesn't mean crap unless people VOTE.

I'm sure many people have already shared this here, but I think it's important that people here on Tumblr need to see this.
"I disagree with Kamala's position on the war in Gaza. How can I vote for her?" by US Senator Bernie Sanders

In the first election with Trump, my girlfriend voted for him. She did not do this because she supported him, she has always hated him. She did it because she was afraid that her parents would somehow find out. She was terrified of them knowing.
I’m thinking back to this moment in her life, and I felt I should let people know that no one will ever find out your vote. I promise. I know that if you are in an abuse relationship with parents or a partner or whoever, it’s hard to feel safe doing anything to disobey them. But your vote is your business and your business only. You’re safe to vote how you want.
And my girlfriend? We just put up our Harris-Walz sign in the apartment we share with our three dogs. Hang in there, guys. It gets better.
