Characters in popular media that seem neurodivergent with evidence of Course. Some of these are obvious, some aren't. Includes ADHD, Autistim, AUDHD, Dyslexia, and schizophrenia. If you disagree with any of these remember they are head cannons and don't take it too personal (mIght be asking too much for Tumblr)

Day 1: Alec Hardy
Day 2: Ellie Miller
Now this one might seem like a bit of a stretch but I love the yin-yang of her partnership (platonic) with Alec so much to me it makes sense for her to be part of the neurodivergent alphabet as well. Ellie in my mind has mostly inattentive presenting ADHD. She's bubbly, forgets to eat only to realize she's starving (common joke in the show). Often is very filter less weather that be chatting with a friend or telling someone (Usually Alec) off. She rambles to herself thinking out loud a lot in partial thought. She also tries so hard to get people to like her for the same reason Alec avoids people, that rejection dysphoria. Then when it comes to her detective work, she is, and I quote "finicky" when it comes to small details. She finds things others miss because her brain obsesses over small "unimportant" details. Then there is her impulsive side, beating Joe, freaking out in the court room, giving Trish her number. All these things she "shouldn't" have done but did because of that gut action. In the second season she also admits to daydreaming a lot (both after the trauma with Joe and before about her old boss) which is very common with inattentive ADHD. Anyway, that's my two cents on the other half of the "Former Detectives Club".

Broadchurch
Day 1: Alec Hardy
Now this is probably a give-me but like most David Tennant characters DI Alec Hardy is of the neuro-spicy variety. His people skills are lacking so much so the man has one friend who is only his friend because he accidently stole her job and became her boss. He's gruff and struggles to communicate, either coming off bumbling or like an arsehole. He avoids social gatherings but when he does get involved, he goes full out trying to make sure he follows all the rules (dinner at millers getting chocolates, wine and flowers). His lack of social life and unwillingness to let people get close is probably due to rejection sensitive dysphoria (which Tess probably didn't help). That would also make sense why him "failing" the Sandbrooke families nearly killed him. Not to mention his uber strong sense of justice, hyper fixation on details and facts which makes him such a good detective. Because of all this I sit firmly in the camp that Alec Hardy from Broadchurch is Autistic.

Bones
Day 3- Vincint Nigel-Murray
Day 4- Daisy Wick
I'm not going to lie... Daisy is far from my favorite character. To be honest she's my least favorite squintern. She never really had any development. I never understood her and Sweet's relationship and I felt it was very forced. That being said she was a very interesting character who I think modeled AuDHD very well. AuDHD is a term that has been used for having co-morbid Autism and ADHD. To summarize her over all character, she's hyper-focused on Anthropology, stinks at readying social cues, struggles to not blurt out her thoughts and control her hyper reactions, and is constantly seeking praise. The first two are common traits of Autism. The second two are ADHD traits and the final one is a shared symptom. Even people's reactions to her (both on and off screen) is evidence that she has both disorders. I say that because people with AuDHD also struggle being perceived a certain way. They are found to be annoying, "too much", and an odd oxymoron. Things that have been/ could be used to describe her. I say this as someone who is also AuDHD and has friends who are as well.

Bones
Day 2- Zach Addy
Day 3- Vincent Nigel-Murry
Oh my heart. I still cry when I think about his end!
To get on to the point of the post, in my heart of hearts, Vince has ADHD. He is full of useless facts that he impulsively spurts out. He talks very fast and sways and fidgets. He had an issue with drinking and lying. He has rejection-sensitive dysphoria (worried that Dr. Brennan doesn't think he's good enough). He's mentioned having anxiety which is a very common comorbidity with ADHD especially if it's untreated. In my opinion he's a wonderful example of a character with ADHD that isn't a ditz or an impulsive student with bad grades.

Bones Series
Day 1- Temperance Brennan
Day 2- Zachary "Zach" Addy
Zach...Zach... ZACH! Do I even need to say it? Do you even need me to list all the different flavors of Tism the boy's got? Can't you just watch 5 minutes of his screen time? Dose the boy stim? Yep, hand fidgets, head rocks/tilts. Special interests? Anthropology and Math. Black & White thinking? OH YEAH, even more hyper logical than Bones herself. Struggle socially? The boy who "can only fit in at the Jeffersonian". I mean the man dresses in comfort clothes and reads books on social cues. He is an Autistic King well except for the whole getting brain washed by a cannibal...
#bones tv#Bones#Zach Addy#Weird that this is the second time a genius autistic boy is brainwashed by a crazy cannibal in 2000s media...#autisim#Dr. Zach Addy

Bones series
Starting off pretty easy with the Bones. That tv show is full of neurospicys.
First up, the Woman herself Temperence "Bones" Brennan.
Temperence Brennan has Autism. Throughout the series, to the point of being a gimmick, she's mocked for her lack of social skills. She struggles with sarcasm, metaphors and is stated to be hyper literal and hyper logical all the time. She also has a hyperintense sense of justice and it takes a while for her to adjust when her world view is tilted (coming to grips with her parents being criminals for example). Lastly, she feels deeply even though to strangers she seems cold hearted. She has such trouble processing and expressing herself when it's not a logical situation only those close know when it's her way of saying she cares. Also, if it's not Bones and Anthropology, she has little interest in it (Special Interest)
Next up- Zach Addy (another easy one)
