we start w kagami finally telling adrien to put on some fucking glasses and let him know he’s in love w marinette

and poor marinette.. she thinks she’ll mess everything up bc she’s in love/has a crush on this boy

loved (read: cringed) at the flashback scene to the first ep in the museum but.. apparently that’s when adriens feelings for mari changed - so everything he did for her after that was bc he loved her, he didn’t know yet. so basically:

him telling lila to stop bother mari

the cute handholding 🥹🥹

etc etc

is adrien showing his love for marinette

but adriens gotten his closure now, he’s lowkey over ladybug ig, and has set his focus to mari…

literally a few days after she decided she can’t love ANYONE or else the world will literally be in shambles

and now, mari is in love with chat… that probably makes it even worse - she’s going to be distracted, and now it’s with the very person she fights crimes with. hence the crying scene at the end. my poor girl needs a BREAK i have been saying this for a year

but in terms of what i think will happen later (haven’t read the show bible lol)… marichat?? might?? happen?? i hope they have some moments atleast.. we do have confirmation adrienette is happening though, so i’m guessing eventually marinette will get her rest and realize she can love someone without it harming her work.. then, adrienette!!!

but in terms of reveals if it goes the marichat direction, i would love if chat is revealed first bc how PERFECT would that be?

i’m upset people made such a big deal of the weight scale scene in anti hero

it must have been unimaginably difficult for her to put something she felt so insecure about into the world, and then people decided to bash her for being “fat phobic”

she isn’t being fat phobic. she’s showing us things that make her feel insecure. things that she thinks make her an “anti-hero”. and one of those things being her body image. taylor is beautiful, and definitely not fat, but it’s a personal thing that many people have felt, myself included.

personally when i saw that scene i felt.. not alone. one of my heroes sometimes feels the same way i do whenever i think of how i look. it’s something i’ve always felt insecure about, and i felt seen.

being “fat phobic” is the “implicit and explicit bias of overweight individuals that is rooted in a sense of blame and presumed moral failing” (Boston Medical Center, bmc.org). taylor isn’t doing that. she isn’t saying there’s something wrong with people who are fat. she’s saying she feels insecure about it and then people won’t like her anymore if she is.

generally, it’s a societal problem. society says, especially in the entertainment industry, that it’s “not good” to be fat. everyone has to be stick thin because apparently that’s what they think is beautiful. i don’t agree with that line one of thought, but it’s something everyone has seen. here’s my interpretation of the scene: i think that scene was there to show that if taylor feels like she doesn’t fit that “standard”, she won’t be liked. and being liked is her livelihood. so, of course she would be insecure about that. if anything, she’s criticizing society for being so against body positivity that she has to continually worry about what her body looks like.

so that scene was poignant and worthwhile. we shouldn’t hide the fact that people are insecure about certain things. she’s making a statement against society’s judgmental values. of course, people will find a way to find something “wrong” with what taylor does. but the haters are gonna hate, and we just have to shake them off.

so to conclude.. taylor, thanks for including that scene and im sorry you had to feel as though that scene should be removed because in my view it is important. i’ve felt the same way. anti-hero is an incredible song y’all and it’s message is worth hearing.
