Progress update! 

The sides of this canvas are so thick, it’s like a separate painting in itself... but I’m trying to consistently paint the sides as well as the front. I have a lot of tree work to do still, it’s a very slow build up. As much as this is based on a photo, I’m still taking some artistic liberties to get rid of things I don’t like or add things I think will make it look better. It’s also a good challenge from the last painting, which was a portrait, to be doing more landscape this time. The last one was also a lot darker, whereas this one I have to work with a lot of whites and finding the balance to make sure it gives of the right winter vibe.

This time around I helped him out in the last-minute crunch time by making an egg character for the game his team made. Throwback to that time I was obsessively drawing cats in Joseon-inspired scenes and clothes. Actually, I still do that but they’re scribbled inside random pages of sketchbooks.

Kokomi!! Honestly at first I just got her because I thought she was super pretty. I would only have her in my team to run around looking cute while my other three carried the team, but after a while I got her to a point where she’s a really good part of my main team.
