Okay so I’ve entered this scholarship program because going to school in Japan is expensive — I’m only a few steps away from my dream so if you guys wanna be super awesome and just vote and share with your friends, please help me out here. ;;;

The idea of this scholarship is to share your goal after completing college, and my goal is to reform the way that the japanese english education program is because the way that it stands right now, japanese people are too shy to speak english because they feel like they can’t speak english, and just overall the program isn’t the best in the world. My idea is that by learning english, it helps people to become global citizens. Why is it important to become a global citizen? Well, first off you’ll understand other cultures better and you’ll be more accepting of different ideas, and without the language barrier it’s definitely easier to communicate ideas.

Update: another japanese man ended up falling asleep against the door and woke up on the floor in the mess. He didn't seem phased.

I don’t think that you really realize how much a friendship is worth to someone until you move away.

Even though you see each other in classes every day, you start to realize that maybe the only reason you were friends was for a way to pass time. They don’t speak to you anymore and pretend that you aren’t there at all. It’s like you’ve become invisible. Meanwhile, it’s the friends who are thousands of miles apart who communicate with you often and keep up with you, constantly checking to see if you’re okay or to see what’s up.

Even if you can’t hang out often, I think that this is what a true and worthwhile kind of friendship is. The kind that doesn’t let miles separate you.
