I’m like 90% sure that Alfred never calls Bruce “Master Bruce” in The Batman (2022), meaning that he likely isn’t a “butler” and if he he it’s really only in name. This version of the Bruce is a lot more modern and grounded compared to others, and butlers aren’t really as common as they used to be (to be knowledge). Bruce never refers to Alfred as a butler either, so my guess is that he was more like a bodyguard to Thomas and Martha before their death, or if he was a butler they never did the whole "Master" Wayne thing. Bruce is also a kinder to him than I’ve seen in other iterations, so it’s interesting that in one of the few versions where Bruce is never deemed “Master” to Alfred they have a better relationship.

He looks at the readers, as though begging them to help. He doesn’t know they’re the ones who voted for his demise. That they chose this.

SUPERMAN 2025 SPOILERS BELOW

Ok, before i get into the VERY FEW things i didnt like in the movie i want to clarify that i loved it so much and im super excited for the future of DC’s CBMs with Gunn at the head of them.

Here are my critiques:

The first major thing was how fast it felt. The pacing was very good, and it never felt like we were lagging in a scene for too long, or rushing to get to the next one too quick. BUT- on the flip side, it never felt like we got comfortable in a scene. I wish we got a bit more of the apartment scene with Lois and Clark at the beginning, maybe even just more of Clark and not just superman. I do understand that it’s first and foremost a superhero movie, so the jam-packed scenes and constant jumping around is what’s to be expected. I think there was most likely a lot that was cut to keep it from being super long, but there are just something’s i wish we got more of, mainly Ma and Pa Kent (it also says a lot that I wanted MORE of this movie because it didn’t feel like two hours lol)

My other main critique stems from how little we saw of Ma and Pa Kent. For how little we got of them they were amazing and really filled a gap for why Superman was doing what he did. With the switch to footage of him growing up at the end, it feel like there wasn’t enough build up with his relationship to Ma and Pa for it to be as meaningful as the message from Krypton in the beginning. You could say it’s probably supposed to be more of his connection with humanity, but then it would’ve been footage of not just Martha and Jonathan.

I think most of the deleted scenes may be from when they were on the farm, so I can only hope that we will get to see them by the end of the year

OVERALL- i dont think these things detract from the experience of the movie. The story is solid, the score is amazing, and really the only thing i wanted after watching this movie was MORE

SUPERMAN 2025 SPOILERS BELOW

I loved the Supergirl cameo so much

First, Krypto being referred to as a “foster situation” was so fucking funny. I thought they were just gonna say that he was Kara’s or something, so when they didn’t i wasn’t sure if we were going to get a Supergirl cameo or not. It made it a lot more rewarding when we finally saw Kara stumbling in at the end of the movie, calling Clark a bitch and stumbling out. She goes and gets drunk and partys on planets with red suns? Oh hell yeah. She’s a mess and i love her.

Having to deal with your entire planet being blown up and all of your friends and family dying is not an easy thing, and i love that they are making Kara messy and a girl failure*. I feel like a lot of versions of her try to make her this model Kryptonian, but she was young when she had to leave Krypton so it makes sense for her to not be this perfect soldier. MAWS Kara is a good version of having this “perfect” kryptonian soldier who is still learning how things work, and is lonely and needs support. I feel like this new Supergirl is going to be a good balance of messy and successful, and i am HERE FOR IT

John is running on the treadmill at the gym, like he always does.

Ava hears her.

It sticks.

John hates it.

The next day John is making breakfast for everyone, Ava goes "Thanks, John Cooker"

"Ha ha, so funny, Ghost"

Alexei hears her, he thinks she's hilarious. So later when they are training, Alexei cheers him up, "Looking good, John Fighter!"

John is so done.

He can't believe even Bob is into this. They have corrupted Bobby.

"John Thinker! John Thinker!" Bob yells pointing at him.

All he did was to get lost in his thoughts after their meeting, he was frowing. He can't even have a minute in peace.

The next day no one come up with a name for him. They are just wrapping things up, Bucky just gave them the last details. He's ready for a shower and get in bed, he grabs his things walking off the room.

"John Walker!"

He stops, turns around to Bucky. There's a knowing grin on his face.

The room explodes with laugher.

John rolls his eyes.

He hates them (fondly).
