House is sold and we are back on the road. First stop, Huntersville to visit the Croft Estate.

A really awesome weekend with my parents in Asheville. A coffee festival, some hiking, a PRIDE parade, a trip to Sierra Nevade Brewing and hanging out at the house and catching up.

I’ve had the opportunity to reconnect with an old college friend (and insanely talented artist) Nathanael Roney. He’s included me in an art show happening this Friday at Push Skateshop in downtown Asheville. 

Paid a visit to the Foundation AVL skate park. It’s set back in this very Berlin-esque zone along the French Broad River and easily one of the best skateparks I’ve ever been to, and to put a cherry on top, it’s completely community funded and built. The skateboard scene here is insanely friendly and awesome. I took a pretty harsh fall and ended up shooting photos of the only other park dweller, Thomas.

Oh, and mountains because...mountains.

Had the pleasure of hosting our Nashville buddies (and recently engaged) Will & Cara twice last week. A few late nights on the porch catching up, some couch-bed lazing around, and a trip downtown to The Funkatorium (Wicked Weed Brewing’s sour-beer-centric tasting room) and Ben’s Tune Up.

Picked up a Fujifilm X70 camera this week and am just learning my way around it. Some test shots from a shorter 3 mile walk at Bent Creek Recreation Area.

A welcome visit from our friends Russell, Marcella, and their baby Juniper. A trip down the parkway to Skinny Dip Falls & Graveyard Fields. The peeling of a new sunshine tattoo.

A hike up Mt. Pisgah to the radio tower, a trip to the Big East Fork swimming hole and a trip to bow down to the Hot Dog King.

Day 1 in Asheville. 1 of 2 cats is already warming up to us. This is going to be good.

Roaming around downtown Charleston and a blurry 5am view of the Perseid Meteor Shower. Thought I didn’t catch any meteors, we definitely saw 20 or so.

Just got five rolls of film back from the trip. All of these are shot on Portra 400 and Kodak Gold 200 with a Yashica T4 Super D.

Early July 4th + Ali’s Dad’s birthday party. Epic.

Logstradamus, what can I say. It’s a gathering of the lifeblood of Virginia Beach and reminds me of how awesome life can be when friends band together to make things (and look dapper as hell doing it).

From the midwest we went through Columbus, OH & Germantown, MD to visit friends. The camera mostly stayed in in my backpack due to weather and the fact that we mostly just sat and caught up with our friends. 

From Germantown we headed down Richmond again and completed our USA loop. We finally got to see our handy work in-person at The Veil and spend time with our buds. Thanks to James & Steph for the ultimate hospitality, and to Zach & Grant for the flat tire help!

Detroit is a really amazing place - a lot like a living museum. So much energy in the revitalization of some areas and so much “urban prairie” as well. 

I shot mostly film, but here are some random digital photos from our time there.
