On my last post, I wrote about the character assassination of Lucky and I have a little bit more to say about it, specifically the drug addiction storyline and how it isn't even about Lucky. You know, the person it should've actually been about.
It's about Jason. It's about giving an "appropriate" reason to allow a married Liz and Jason to sleep with each other without Jason being the bad guy. Because he's never the bad guy. Jason the honorable mobster has to save poor Liz from her druggie, loser husband. It's so fucking lazy and obvious that this story doesn't hold any weight with me.
Instead of telling an impactful story about the opioid epidemic and how it ruins and ends lives, they used it to make Lucky the villain in a fucking love triangle. They decided to write his addiction without an ounce of nuance or compassion. Since they refused to portray an addiction storyline with the sensitivity it deserved, then I'm not going to seriously acknowledge any of it with who the character is now.
#general hospital#lucky spencer#lucky x elizabeth#horrible shitty writing frankly#anyway gv wasn't playing lucky. idk who that man was. but he wasn't lucky#amazing how they only respect the character and history when JJ is there because -#they did it AGAIN by making lucky a deadbeat when they didn't have to - only to prop franco by letting him play daddy to lucky's kids#also i know this might make me seem like a jason hater but i'm actually not. firmly in the like him/neutral category usually#no what i actually hate is the ruining of characters just to prop others#and the blatant favoritism by writers/producers/showrunners of some actors/characters over others#yes i posted a version of this to twitter. bc people aren't allowed to be happy on their own posts over there.
