Thrilled to share my latest illustration from the world of Splittermond: the deserted capital city of Albronnen, built by dragonkind in Wintholt! This piece was created for the book “A Touch of Frost,” already available in the Uhrwerk Verlag shop, with the print version coming in December. This is the second illustration from this book I’m sharing, and working on Albronnen’s atmospheric, frosty landscape was a real joy. Hope it inspires you as much as it did me! ❄️💙

“Jaquar”- digital painting 2023 I'm not allowed to show anything I'm working on yet. That's why my old role-playing character "Jaquar" makes another appearance here. Jaquar comes from a Beleriand tabletop-roleplaygroup with whom we played for 7 years weekly in the world of Tolkien's "Silmarillion" . I developed the character very intensively and a lot has happened to him during the seven years, which is why he is still very close to my heart. The group unfortunately disbanded about 4 years ago. But maybe at some point I'll get around to immortalizing his story in a graphic novel, which I've been preparing from time to time… but right now I'm barely making any progress. There's just too much else to do. By the way, the music in the video is again from the great D20 Sounds, who kindly allowed me to use it.

"Chasing Fun" - pencil on watercolor paper 2024. I like to imagine how Tolkien's characters life was before fate entrusted them with their role in the events surrounding the one Ring. How did they live and spend their everyday lives? Like young Éowyn here, who has fun training with her horse. What do you think, would that suit her?😊🐎

'The Light in your Heart-Rescue of Maedhros'-Digital Painting 2019. This Tolkien fanart shows the dramatic rescue of Maedhros by Fingon and the eagle Thorondor from the Thangorodrim Mountains. Fingon had to cut off his friend's right hand to free him from Morgoth's bonds.

"Glorfindel&Asfaloth" - Bleistift und Polychromos auf getöntem Papier 2022. Mal wieder ein etwas älteres Bild. Vorlage für diese Zeichnung war übrigens ein Foto von mir und meinem Pferd "Joplin`s Boy". Joplin weilt leider nicht mehr unter uns. Ich wollte mir diesem Bild meine Erinnerungen an ihn auf ganz besondere Weise verewigen.

- Manwë - The Blessed One – 40x60cm, Oil on Canvasboard 2024 - This is my version of Manwë, the noblest and highest of the Valar. Governor of Ilúvatar, the Creator and himself created and described by J.R.R. Tolkien. Dear Mornienna was my model for Melkor's brother. I was so happy that he answered my request positively, because he absolutely fit (and still fits) my idea of ​Manwë's appearance. Pascal put an awful lot of effort into clothing and the photo shoot and I'm really, really grateful to him for that and for the great results. So I had everything to get started! All the better that I was able to present the original painting to him in person at this year's Tolkien Days!!
