Blowtorch Uses Only Water As Fuel
Researchers from ITM Power, a UK-based clean energy company, say their new blowtorch prototype called Safeflame produces fire using only water as fuel. The electrolyser system turns hydrogen and oxygen gases from water into fuel for the torch using electricity. SafeFlame is designed for use in brazing. Current brazing systems mostly use flammable gasses like acetylene or propane as fuel for portable torches, which pose a fire and explosion risk in highly pressurized containers. This system stores its fuel in water form, eliminating the explosion risk from pressurized gas. Read more:

Time
Today it seems that we have no time for anything. As I was having dinner I could not help but notice that the people at the table next to us were not talking to each other, they were looking at their smart phones and texting. After some time flew by one girl looked up and said that she wished she had more time to her self... So here is my question, is spending time texting other people actually time to yourself ? and what is the point of spending so much time and hard word writing detailed essays for Www.leakyminds.com if people don't have the attention span or "time" to read them ?. Thank you for taking the time to read this.

The Story Behind the 'World's Most Famous Atheist' Richard Dawkins
British zoologist Richard Dawkins turned evolutionary theory on its head when he published his book, "The Selfish Gene," in 1976. His recently released autobiography, "An Appetite for Wonder," sheds light on the first 35 years of Dawkins' life, from his birth in Kenya, to his fascination with science at Oxford, to the origin of his gene-centered view about natural selection. ... Can You Catch OCD?
Is it possible to catch a mental illness, as you would the flu?
Could Obsessive Compulsive Disorder be the result of an untreated strep throat infection?
That's the provocative and controversial theory behind a childhood condition known as PANDAS - where young children suddenly develop OCD and severe tics almost overnight.
And if caught quickly, a simple course of antibiotics seems to reverse the symptoms immediately. But not all doctors accept the diagnosis. We'll have a documentary feature on this troubling condition and the questions surrounding it.

The God of the Gaps is a idea based on the concept that anything we can’t explain with scientific evidence must have some sort of divine connection. In effect, we shove God into that gap to explain and ease our primordial brain from over extending itself.... Read more=  http://www.leakyminds.com/richard-dawkins-on-religion.html

Basically, Curiosity is equipped with two stereo pairs of hazard avoidance cameras (hazcams) which create a 3D map of the rover’s surroundings. This is similar to the EyeSight system implemented by the Subaru Forester, but a lot simpler than the LIDAR system employed by Google’s self-driving cars (Mars doesn’t have any fast-moving obstacles, making autonomous driving a lot easier...more www.leakyminds.com

Russia & Gay Rights
Tumblr media
The battle cry has been sounded, the standard raised, and the masses of American youth (and some not so youthful) have demanded their voices be heard. What was the revolutionary action taken on the quest for equality? We signed(myself included) a petition to boycott the 2014 Winter Olympic Games in Sochi Russia; all in response to the passing of Russia’s new bill prohibiting the propaganda of nontraditional sexual relations. Hold for a moment, if you will, for all the equally loud voices....
