Operation Dreamspace: Getting on the Same Page with My Partner
Operation Dreamspace: Getting on the Same Page with My Partner
After an open conversation with my partner, Operation Dreamspace has been amended, and I can’t believe I didn’t go with this version in the first place! It’s funny how trying to see things from the point of view of another can open up a whole new world!
In a nutshell, he told me he wants to travel more and see the world, but also loved it here in New Zealand, and close to family and friends… so…

Lessons from a Determined Kitty
Meet our furriest family member, Olive. On these cold winter nights she loves nothing more than to curl up in bed with us… Or rather directly on top or between us!
Problem is, my partner finds it uncomfortable to sleep under the weight of said kitty (she’s not huge but not small either). I don’t mind a snuggle bug nestled into the groove of my waist (I am also a cuddle bug), but I am also a deep…

10 Useful and Motivational Videos for those Rainy Days
10 Useful and Motivational Videos for those Rainy Days
Whenever I need a pick-me-up, boost, or to get my head back in the game but don’t even have the motivation to look at my goals, I find that turning to a few of these first can sometimes help with some perspective, useful advice, or even remind me of why I started trying to live this crazy life to the fullest! There are plenty more, but here is just 10 for now!:

Slaying Life: Our Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern
Slaying Life: Our Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern
Image from https://www.facebook.com/jacindaardern/
If you’re in New Zealand, you’ll probably know by now that our Prime Minister recently gave birth to her first baby girl, and the country is abuzz! At 37, she is not only running a country at a record young age, but she is doing it on her own terms.
From swooping in to lead her party to an election victory, somewhat from the sidelines and just…

Have an Opinion?
What makes someone feel the need to give an opinion on something?
The see something happening, or perhaps hear about something happening, and for some reason, regardless of whether it’s asked for, or can help the situation, an opinion is offered. What’s the deal with this?
Every now and then you come across a well thought out gem, but in large part, it’s a sea of regurgitated generic responses,…

My Dreams are Crazy? So What?
If you have big dreams, or even if you only want something ever so slightly different than just working 9-5, then watching sport and getting blotto on the weekend, then you’ve probably received “the look” once or twice.
You know… The one that says that they don’t understand why you’d want to do that, that they don’t think it’ll ever work, that you don’t havewhat it takes, or perhaps that you…

The Price of Personal Growth
I came across this image posted in a Facebook group and it resonated soo loudly I just had to share it!
The more I allow myself to follow my dreams, and really listen to what makes my heart sing, the more sensitive I feel to everything else.
I guess its hard to be sensitive to one thing (you), and try feel your way through your jouney, without feeling the potholes in the road!
It also makes me…

Bullies and Compassion
We’ve all heard it. Bully behaviour often comes from a place of hurt or insecurity… We should respond to these people with compassion and love, not with anger… But holy hell it’s hard sometimes isn’t it?!!!
Who feels like giving someone a hug, when they’re looking down on you, telling you you’re not good enough, or mocking everything you hold dear?
As an aspiring yogi, compassion for everyone at…

Operation Dreamspace: Update #2
Operation Dreamspace: Update #2
  Music
No clear wins on the music front, have decided to get back to some songwriting also in the next week, and even start (very crudely) recording some of these, in order to play them back, listen objectively, and generally flex these muscles!
Design
I found myself with some free scribble time this weekend, and was inspired to try a bit of a mash up with some ideas people had given me to throw…

So let’s say I could drop everything right now and go live the dream in my dream studio, and in the dream location (unlikely), but if I could, where would that be? What EXACTLY would it look like?
I have been windowshopping…
#1
It does look like a wide open space, and love the fact that there is a photography area all set up! Pity about the dead animals everywhere… ALSO, I’m not crazy about it being right in the central city, how can I romanticize about having the warm, fresh by peaceful air flowing in through the french doors, if it’s right on K’ Road?? Although there is the sweet little benefit of being able to hit Revell cafe for vegan pancakes whenever I want…
Honestly this was the only studio that peaked my interest was available to rent fulltime, not by the hour, IN THE WORLD.
So hey, what’s not available?! There was a real theme going with the studios that I did like the look of… notice a theme? 😉 fresh air and sunlight ahhhhhh. Just add on some extra space for a workroom and a recording studio and we’re in business!
Funnily enough my favourite of these is the last one, next door to what looks like a house, and overlooking greenery for miles. OH YES. Looks like that answers a few of my questions around where I should look, and whether I should rent… this is a custom dream which requires a custom solution.
I love little exercises like this! What would your dreamspace look like?

Operation Dreamspace: Update #1
Operation Dreamspace: Update #1
This is probably going to be a very long operation… better get cracking then!
Honestly most of the work is going to be in getting somewhat good at the things I want to actually DO in my Dreamspace studio for yoga, design and music! And of course consistency is key when it comes to getting better at something, so I have committed to at LEAST the following daily (as a minimum!)
Music
15 minutes…

Honing in on the Dream
Honing in on the Dream
What does your ideal day look like?
Most motivational books I’ve read and people I’ve listened to, ask this question. For the longest time I thought I had a rough idea of what I would like to do for the next 30 years at least, before retiring and doing what I ACTUALLY wanted to do. So I guess, it wasn’t really the correct answer to the question in the first place.
What I should have been doing is…

Purpose and puzzles
There are lots of reasons as to why I work so hard, why I do the things I do,and why I want to do them.
But I also feel like a have a bigger underlying ‘why’ for everything I do, and I struggle to put it into words. It’s a feeling, a primal pull, a gut instinct, but I do wish I could put it into better words.
Sometimes it feels like I’m walking around in the darkness with a mysterious object in…

Tim Grover's Relentless System
Tim Grover’s Relentless System
You can listen to a lot of successful and influential people, and take away little bits from each, but there will always be one or two who really gave you what you needed to start doing some damage to your goals. The rest just created interest.
For me, one of the big players in my current mindset is Tim Grover.
For those of you who don’t know who he is, he spent a large chunk of his career…

Letting go to get success
I’m beginning to realise that the key to realise that the key to getting where I want to go may lie in letting go.
Letting go of the little things that aren’t directly connected to my dreams, and accepting that the rest of my life may not look or feel at all perfect. I have been soo caught up in messages from successful people about creating a culture and standard for yourself in all aspects of…

Rebels Change the World
Rebels Change the World
I’ve already posted today, but I saw today’s wordpress word prompt is ‘Rebel’, and I just couldn’t resist!
There have always been rules, both social or more formal laws. Rules put in place (in theory) to protect, organize, and assist the masses. You only need to stand up and question your immediate surroundings to realise that sometimes the rules can be more of a hinderance to real and positive…

Starting the day on a positive note
Starting the day on a positive note
This morning I watched a video on facebook, of the morning meeting held daily at Cardone Enterprises, and it hands-down seemed like the right way for a company to start the day.
The shared the successes of the day before, they congratulated each other at the top of their lungs, and sang happy birthday a couple of people in the team who have made it through another year.
The energy was positive…
