You're really kind to say so! Thanks. :)

But as for commissioning art? Nope, we don't usually have the cash to spare for that kind of thing. As a result, once I realized that fairly polished art was needed for independently-published book covers and the two series websites and so forth, I decided there was no way through the situation except to start making the stuff myself.

So I hunted down the most congenial digital art tools—in my case, Daz Studio and various resources associated with it—and got busy learning how to use them. That was... maybe seven or eight years ago now? I'd have to check the timestamps on my files.

It's been a longish journey, anyway, with a lot of bumps. (There's a post over here that discusses the ins and outs of it in a little more detail.) But every time I finish an image, I can practically guarantee I'll have learned something new about the craft. Makes it all worthwhile. :) And in the meanwhile, the websites have fairly decent imagery, and the books have covers.

Anyway, thanks for the nice words!

(And here's one I just finished. Wow, but it's hard to get all these guys together in one shot. The size of the gent in the background tends to make it a bit of a challenge...)

Something soft involving our favorite bird boy?

Thunder rolled across the skies above them as the sailor looked into the rain. He sighed, thoughts rolling around his head. The cave they had found provided decent enough shelter, a fire crackling nearby.

"Wind, have you seen Sky?"

He turned to see the captain, dressed down to his tunic. Worry plastered across his face. He had'nt seen Sky in several hours.

"I'm sorry, no." He thought. "Wasn't he on a patrol before the rain started?"

The captain nodded, looking into the rain as he gave a small grimace. "I'm worried something's happened. Time's asked me to go looking for him. Can you come with me? I know you guys are close."

"Let me grab my sword."

The captain nodded, his guard raised as he tied his scarf around his head. His eyes scanned the trees as he tried to find any sign of the skyloftian.

"Let's go."

The pair entered the sheet of rain looking around themselves as the sailor pointed in a direction. Voice raised he put a hand over his eyes. "He went this way to start with!"

Running into the rain they searched and searched before coming across a small creek. The pair huddled under a tree.

"If sky went anywhere it's here." The captain nodded.His eyes scanning the area as he tried to duck from tree cover to tree cover. The rain made it difficult but not impossible to make out the features of his surroundings.

Thats when he spotted a shroud of white under a small outcropping in the rock.

"There!"

"Sky!"

"Are you hurt?"

Raising the sailcloth just so a singular eye could peer at them from under its weighted mass. He shook his head, the fabric shifting as he tucked himself in. Water rolled from the mass of fabric as Sky shivered.

"What are you doing here?"

The skyloftian made to answer, but the roll of thunder made him jump. Moving to a singular hand to communicate instead. 'Rain... Started... thunder... had to.'

"He had to hide, " the sailor said, his eyes widening slightly before he crouched. "Keep watch, won't you wars?"

The captain nodded. Understanding filtered through his features as he drew his sword and turned away from the pair of them. "I'll keep you guys safe."

The sailor crawled under the outcropping settling next to the skyloftian. Fiddling around in his bag for a small lantern. "I dont have my lantern..."

The captain turned for a moment before pulling a fire rod from his bag. "It's big, but it does the job. It'll dry you off, too."

"Thanks, wars." He said, moving the fire rod away from them as heat radiated from its surface.

"I'll see if I can get a message to the others. Let them know we are safe, and will probably be here for the night."

"Can I hug you? Or would you rather stay like this?"

The skyloftian remained quiet but leaned towards the sailor in an invitation as the small hero wrapped his arms around him.

"Do you have your harp on you?"

The skyloftian nodded, pulling the golden object from his bag. holding it in a tightened grip.

"Can I borrow it? Medli's been teaching me how to play when I see her."

The skyloftian looked down at the harp and shakily handed it over to the sailor as he sat upright. Taking care not to scratch the object.

Fingers glided over the strings with less of a practised flare than his own hands. But he could see the sailor had some idea of what he was doing.

A gentle hum of music settled across the small outcropping they found themselves in and across the forest around them. The only thing standing out was the captain, sending bird calls through the trees to the others, which were responded to by a howling that sounded across the forest.

The sound the sailor had chosen was a rendition of the music he'd played for the group so much.

A song he'd written for Zelda.

He found himself humming along to the gentle tunes of the melody. As he leaned into the sailor a little further.

"I dont think this rain will let up anytime soon." The captain said sometime later. Ducking under the shelter to crouch by the entrance out of the rain. "How's he doing?"

"He'll be okay." The sailor lifted the sailcloth from the skyloftians head slowly. The hero having fallen asleep beneath its warm embrace. "I dont really want to move him. Not in this rain."

The captain thought for a moment. "As long as it's safe. We can stay where he feels the most comfortable until it stops."

The sailor smiled as he placed a hand on the skyloftains hair. A gesture he'd done on him to keep him calm after the inevitable nightmare's that he'd experienced.

It would be some time until the rain stopped, Time and twilight coming out in the cover of night to locate the trio.

being obsessed with a specific section of Broad Media is very interesting. i will say i like vampires and people will be like "oh did you like dracula?" working on that "oh have you watched/read interview with a vampire" ah no im looking into i- "what about *87 classic vampire movies*-" liusten i am slow to getting to things ok. i also just like the funny vampires. yknow the what we do in the shadows and this very niche mangled version of vampire the masquerade my dnd youtubers did and also dressing in red and black and having bats GIVE ME PAITENCE

What do you use to draw?

HIya ! Assuming u mean program? I use Clip Studio Paint EX on pc (EX because i like to dabble in animation from time to time). Other than that, I'm drawing with a KAMVAS 12 :3
