Unable to send text messages from MacBook

If you mean SMS messages, Text Message Forwarding probably got turned off on your iPhone. On your phone, go to Settings>Messages>Text Message Forwarding and select your Mac.

This is common with Debian Linux and some derivatives. Search for Debian UEFI boot failure and you'll find ways to remedy. They blame the UEFI boot firmware not following standards. I do wish it could be fixed; it's been like this for a very long time.

In UEFI Interactive Shell, enter the file system:

fs0:

Following up with creating this file:

edit startup.nsh

Enter this or similar line to it:

\EFI\debian\grubx64.efi

Press CTRL+S to save the file.

Press ENTER to confirm the file name.

Press CTRL+Q to exit the editor.

Restart the Guest:
