I was feeling sad one evening and started going through some tumblr posts, this is where i found some text posts talking about love and separation. Here’s a side channel I used to run where i posted Zwinky.com music edits. I’m including it in my page because it shows some editing skills - skills i had back when I was 13/14 (my age when I made these videos). 

For those who don’t know of Zwinky, it’s a social virtual world where you can interact with other players through your own custom avatar. To make these videos, one had to type the lyrics (line by line) via the website’s chat feature then screenshot each one - a very long and tedious process. The screenshots would then be put and arranged into a video editing software where they could be cut and played around with.

There used to be a big community of people who made Zwinky music videos, and I was inspired by them, even back when I was 11, a time when I made my own music videos using Windows Movie Maker. I discussed with other ‘ZMV’ creators about the techniques and programs that they use, most of them used Sony Vegas - a professional video editing software that I hoped to get in the future. I soon got a Macbook though and discovered that it came with a video editing software called ‘iMovie’. I learned how to use it but a few years later, understood that it was a limited program for what I evolved to make, so I started using Final Cut Pro X - a video editing software similar to iMovie but with much more options and allowed more flexibility. The later videos seen on this channel are made with Final Cut and were made probably in the last 2 or 3 years. 

Zwinky music video making helped me (surprisingly) evolve in video editing and had taught me many things. If I hadn’t made these videos, I would’ve had a much slower time learning editing techniques and processes.
