we have about 4 pepper plants in our veggie patch but somehow the peppers don’t get big. they get about 4-5 cm long and stay that way.
Tumblr media
so i decided to make some of those stuffed peppers i like to buy.
it was pretty easy to make them and they do taste good, a little bitter but good! so here’s what you’ll need to do: cut open the cleaned peppers and but them into the oven for a few minutes. you could also grill them on a bbq.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
while the peppers get grilled, you mix together feta, two spoons of creme cheese and some herbs. i used fresh rosemary and basil from my balcony. *oh i forgot the onion i but in as well, cut it into tiny peaces an mix with the cheese.*
let the peppers cool down and spoon in the mixture carefully.
prepare a clean glass with cut chilies and garlic. now add the stuffed peppers tight and poor in the olive oil.
let this soak for some days in a dark cool place.

in mai my mom and myself rented a vegetable patch from a local bio farmer. it’s about 40 square-meters big and full of life now. we started out with a lot of thistles and weed there. but against my first thoughts (omg, why?) it really worked out. we planted a lot of vegetables like zucchini, squash, tomatoes, chilies and salat according to my grandmothers advice.
Tumblr media
my grandmother worked as a gardener all her life, she's even famous in the fuchsia community for all her self grown species. she had a lot of useful tips and i think she loves to help us pursue her own passion.
Tumblr media
i love spending time between our veggies. i love coming back after some days and pick new ripe tomatoes or watch the zucchini grow. it's really calming too, to work next to my mom weeding.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
also i love eating my own veggies. they taste so much better when you help grow them yourself.
if you'd like to see even more pictures you can look into a new flickr album. sadly i often forgot my camera so they are only made with my iphone… but you can see how the veggies are growing anyways.

i’m not going out a lot at the moment, there’s always so much to be done for school. i love it, but i think i might need to take some time for me as well. or at least do things that combine both, like this pine cone collecting hike i did last week with my friend maja. we took the train to mödling and walked up the “mountain” through a fogy fairytale forest. i needed pine cones for some crafts at school so i collected while we walked and talked and took pics as well. Perfect combination!

long time no DIY, well there are some of my diys online but over at we love handmade :) but just because there are no pics here doesn’t mean i’m not doing anything. farm from that actually. i’m busy preparing for school. lot’s of fun things will wait for my kids in class. like this huge domino.
in case you’d like one yourself here’s what you need: 28 pieces of wood (20cm x 10cm) wood varnish white acryl paint paintbrush stencil
Tumblr media
this is what you do: make sure the edges of your wooden pieces are smooth
Tumblr media
now paint the pieces with your varnish so you can use them outdoors too… this takes some time :)
Tumblr media
after that comes the stencil, each side needs 6 circles and in the middle you’ll need a thin line.
Tumblr media
now use the white paint and the stencil to make the dots. let them dry… and play :)

i can’t wait to have my first math lesson with these!

if you’re living in vienna or ever visited this beautiful town you might have been to schönbrunn, the royal zoo. it’s an amazing place and it get’s bigger every time i visit. since the boy and i are now proud owners of an annual ticket we’ll hopefully get to visit more often.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
These are pictures from our last two visits. i love the rainforest part with all the pretty plants and bats.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
:) thank you for coming along, even when it’s insanely hot outside and you’d rather stay next to some cool water. :*

since my sister decided we needed some flowers in our “garden” (it’s used as a parking space and bbq spot) things somehow got out of control. she planted about 400 flowers on 4 square meters. anyway now we sort of got hocked and also added some strawberry and tomato plants. because our grandmother (who‘s a gardener) also told us to give our windowsill herbs a better chance in surviving by planting them into bigger pots. i decided to do some gardening too.
with summer coming and strawberry baskets being sold on the side of the streets these cute empty baskets pile up here. they do make a very cute herb pot. don’t you think?
if you’d like to make these too, here’s what you need:
baskets, soil, herbs, water, rope, scissors, stapler and some foil.
Tumblr media
here’s what you do:
first, cut the foil into the size of the basket and line in the basket with it. use the stapler to fixate the foil on the basket.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
now that was actually the difficult part. you take out the herbs and put them in the right basket. two each and fill in the rest of the basket with soil. be sure to use enough and push it into the corners.
Tumblr media
nearly done. if you’d like your herbs to fly as well you’ll need 2m of rope for each basket. cut it in half and bind your baskets to the fence or maybe onto your balcony handrail.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
oh and don’t forget to water them of course. :) what do you think?

it’s the season for rhubarb. i know the food world parts into two when it comes to this fruit like vegetable. i count myself to the rhubarb loving fraction. the boy does too, so that’s a plus.
Tumblr media
i never made anything with rhubarb on my own but i can remember summer cakes my grandma made and compote my mum made when we still had a garden (with lot’s of rhubarb as i recall but that might not be true).
anyways, it’s not only pretty it’s also low on calories. which does not apply to the compote because there’s way to much sugar in here. but it tastes good, so that’s allowed. :)
Tumblr media
here’s what i did: cut (about 750g)  rhubarb in tiny pieces, you could go for bigger ones if you would like your rhubarb to keep it’s form, otherwise it will fall apart like mine did. cook 1l water and add a spoon of baking soda - pour this over your rhubarb, so it looses a bit of it’s sour taste. now again cook water (200ml) and stir in some sugar (170g or so ;) ) now when the sugar dissolved add the rhubarb, cinnamon and clove. cook for about 5-10 minutes - depending on how fallen apart you’d like the rhubarb ;)
Tumblr media
take out the fruity bits and put them in your jar. now let the water cook some more until it reaches a syrup like texture. add the rest of the syrup to the rhubarb in the jar and seal it.
Tumblr media
Ready! You can now top your breakfast granola, plain yogurt or maybe some ice cream with it. Delicious! Follow along on instagram if you’d like to see more of my daily life

nearly three years go i started university and met a bunch of girls i really grew fond of. last saturday we went out on a little hike as part of our sports teacher training. when our professor mentioned that this was our last seminar it hit me. i’m going to be – well hopefully – a teacher in september. a real teacher, classroom, kids and everything. and i’m telling you… i’m really excited for this to come.
Tumblr media
on the other hand it’s pretty sad. because i’m going to miss these girls i met here a lot. i know, just because university ends doesn’t mean i won’t see them. still it’s always a bit sad if something good comes to an end.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
anyways … this saturday really was nice. with spring in town everything seems a bit better and prettier

back at last! so sorry… but i guess there’s no one left to read this anyways.
just in case there is someone. here’s a new diy :) with easter coming up this weekend it’s obviously time to dye some eggs again. remember last year i made these green dinosaur eggs which looked pretty cute. now this year i got inspired by honestlyYUMs eggs. so pretty right?
Tumblr media
so here‘s what i did: i dyed my eggs with red cabbage, cook cabbage for about half an hour and use the water to dye the eggs with, just add some vinegar as well. now you put in your eggs and depending on how intense you’d like the blue to be leaf the eggs in there for 1-2 hours (light blue) or over night (darker).
Tumblr media
when you are finished with the whole colorstuff let your eggs dry and prepare your gold foil equipment. you’ll need a soft brush, the spezial milk for the gold foil and golden foil.
Tumblr media
now use the brush or maybe a sponge to put some of the milk onto your eggs. make sure not to get it all over the egg because then there will be gold foil all over your eggs as well.
let your milkystuff dry for about 20 minutes. in comes the gold foil.
Tumblr media
use the brush or sponge to push down the gold foil. it will stick to your fingers and the parts of the egg you used the milk in.
Tumblr media
all done. don’t they look pretty? how do your easter eggs look this year?

dear readers,
i'm so sorry nothing is happening here at the moment.
i'm so busy finishing my thesis for university so i can be a teacher next autumn, that there is no more time left to do any other fun things. i'm sure it will change again once i'm done writing and reading about photography and how to use it in primary schools. :) until i'm back you might want to take a look at instagram, to keep up with my writing schedule if you like ;) or take a look at the new phone lenses i got for christmas and didn't even find time to show you… :( until then!
