Anything For You

(Hi. I own nothing DC owns. I wanted to add Dick Grayson to the Bad Things Happen card! I wanted to add some other characters in the bat family. Enjoy!)

Being stuck in a terrible situation is bad enough.

Being stuck in a terrible situation is made worse when you are in the gala as your secret identity and can not do anything about it.

One moment, Dick was keeping Damian from yelling at some rich person and looking for Roy and his family, who were running late. The next, gunshots rang through the entrance. 

“Everyone freeze.” The man in the middle yelled. 

Dick pushed Damian behind him. This is bad. None of the other siblings are here and Bruce has a gun pointed at him.

“Richard--” Damian started to complain but Dick stood his ground. 

Unfortunately, this caught the attention of the men with the guns. 

The leader smirked and called to them, “Damian Wayne!” The men walked to them. 

“Move out of the way, Grayson.” The man demanded. 

“No.” Dick declared.

The gun pointed at Dick’s chest, causing Damian to try to step forward but Dick held him back.

Dick did not move but he saw Roy and the other Arrows come in...in civilian clothing. The leader saw them and laughed.

“So many rich people!” He laughed and the gun lowered a bit.

Dick saw the moment the idea hit for Damian, who ran to change into Robin. 

One of the men moved to shoot Damian but Dick fought the gun out of his hands.

Dick got punched for that but it was done. Damian got away. Guns pointed at different civilians, Bruce, Oliver, and Dinah.

“You lost me my target, Grayson!” He was hit again.

Bruce, Oliver, and Dinah let out a yell but the men ignored them.

Roy rushed forward but a gun pushed against Dick’s head stopped Roy in his tracks, a little closer to Dick but still too far.

“Like I said,” The man started. “Grayson lost me my target, so now he’s gonna beg for me and I maybe won’t kill him”

He said nothing. Dick had to stall. Any moment now, Robin is gonna break this up. Hopefully, Damian gets help from some of the others.

“Fine. Stay quiet.” The man taunted.

“Wait—“

The man growled and moved the gun from Dick’s head. He had only a second of relief before a shot sounded and Roy fell to the ground with a groan. He was shot in the leg.

“Roy!” He called out and tried to reach out to him.

The man held onto Dick. “Now you can beg for his life.”

Dick wasted no time. “Please leave him alone.” Dick pleaded.

The man smirked. “I don’t know. Boys, does that sound like he really wants this guy to live?”

The men laughed and shook their heads.

“Please. I’m begging you. You won’t get anything from this.” The man pushed Dick to the ground. He was closer to Roy now.

“Dick…” The other man trailed.

“You lost me my money. So, I think you should lose something.” The man said and aimed his gun at Roy. Dick moved before thinking and just as the gun shot, he threw himself in front of Roy.

Bruce screamed again, glass broke, sounds of a fight. However, Dick only felt pain. Then he felt someone hold him.

Waking up in a hospital bed is nothing new to Dick Grayson.

He slowly opened his eyes to see Damian sleeping on a chair next to the bed. Damian’s upper half was on the bed. His Robin was sleeping but Dick could tell it wasn’t very peaceful.

Roy and Bruce were not far from them, arguing quietly—but slowly getting louder.

“You’re going to wake him up.” Dick complained. Both men looked to him. “What happened?” He whispered.

“You were shot.” Roy said.

“The men are in custody.” Bruce added. “I’ll get your doctor.” Bruce left.

“Is he hurt?” Dick asked about Damian, then his head snapped to Roy. “Are you okay? Should you be out of bed—“

“You can’t be serious.” Roy sounded absolutely done. “I’m okay. I was released two days ago.”

“I’ve been out that long?”

“Yeah. Some of the others came around, too.”

Dick smiled at that. Then the smile fell. “What were you guys arguing about?”

Roy looked away. “Actually, for once, we were agreeing on something.”

“Are pigs flying?”

“Only when you convince Donna to take you flying.” Roy said almost immediately. Dick chuckled—even if they had this conversation a million times. “I admit it didn’t feel good but I understand.”

Oh. Oh. Bruce, you can’t be serious.

“You know,” Dick started as casually as he could. “This wasn’t your fault.”

“Yes, it was. If I hadn’t—“

“They would’ve picked someone else.”

“You jumped in front of a gun for me.”

“You make it sound like there was ever any doubt we would do that for each other. For any of the Titans.”

Roy looked away.

“I would do anything for you, Roy.”

Roy rushed and hugged him.

“I would do the same.”

I didn’t have time to draw anything today bc I’m busy with school work but have this scenario that has been lingering in my head! :

Pom leading the GA gang in costume shopping bc she refuses to be seen with them if their costumes aren’t up to her standard. Pom gathers Colton and Maps to help her with shopping and essentially assigns them a list of things she’s looking for. Colton has no clue what Pom is planning and Maps is spewing with ideas.

Pom is on her own agenda for what their costumes should be (leaving this up for imagination).

Sweet Dreams, Real Nightmares

(Hi. I own nothing DC owns. Here’s another bad things happen bingo! Yay!)

Kyle was the first one to head to bed due to having a test the next day, which caused Pomeline to call him Lawful Good again. 

“Don’t stay up too late.” He told Maps then, after a “good night”, he went to his dorm. 

Kyle is so tired that he falls asleep the second his head hits the pillow. 

That’s when Two Face made his move. 

Here is the kid that made Harvey’s life harder. Heads, he’ll leave the kid alone. Tails, the kid dies. 

He flips the coin and it lands on his hand. 

A sick twisted smile lit up on his face. 

Maps is sitting on the chair beside Kyle’s bed. The others are being told now but Maps was there when Hammerhead rushed to Kyle’s room. 

Two Face was gone but he left the baseball bat. 

Kyle was rushed to the medical wing and Maps refused to be moved. 

It looked like Kyle was hit in the mouth first, most likely to keep him from yelling for help. It also works to keep Kyle confused with a hit to the head. 

Then it looked like Two Face took the baseball bat to everywhere he could reach. 

Maps held her older brother’s hand and started crying.

She hates feeling like she can’t do anything. She should be out looking for Two Face. 

A squeeze shook her from her thoughts. Her eyes snapped to Kyle, to see him opening his eyes

He smiled at her then noticed the tears. He tried to sit up but the pain stopped him.

“Mia. What…what happened? Are you okay? Where’s—“

He was cut off when Maps hugged him.

“I was so worried.” Maps said as they let go.

“I’m okay.” Kyle promised then winced. “I will be okay.”

Maps nodded.

“Did you get any sleep?” Kyle asked.

“No.”

“Get some sleep.” Kyle told her.

“You, too.” Maps told him.

“Okay. Okay.” He accepted. He smiled.

“Sweet dreams.” She said then went out of the medical wing.

Kyle stared at the door and the smile fell.

The second he closed his eyes, they shot back open.

Any nightmare couldn’t be worst from what happened.

The Sea Of Memories (Trying Not to Drown)

(Hi. I got a Bad Things Happen Bingo Card Yay! I wanted to use it for Gotham Academy! I own nothing DC owns. Enjoy!)

Olive knows she has trauma. 

Knowing that does not make dealing with the trauma any easier. 

Some days she is fine. She can walk, talk, and act like nothing is wrong. She calls those above water days. Days where she feels like she’s not drowning in everything that happened, not drowning in the trauma. 

Other days, it’s like the weight of the world is on her shoulders. She can barely get out of bed. She snaps at people then rushes away to cry. She hates looking at herself. Looking in her own eyes. Those days are considered drowning days.

Today is, surprisingly, an above water day. 

She got her English test back that she got an A on, they were serving pizza--which tastes good and also makes Maps happy, and she did not have one flashback. 

She’s sitting with the others in the common room when suddenly she is back in the burning building. She can’t be back there. They defeated Amity. They saved the day. Olive helped save the day. Olive helped defeat Amity. Olive--

Olive hurt the others as Amy.

Olive burned lots of Gotham, including the Academy.

Olive burned Kyle. 

She’s a monster, she realized as the fire burns. Olive hears her ancestor call her through the fire.

“Olive.”

“No.” She pleaded but it didn’t seem to matter.

“Olive.” The voice repeated but sounded different, almost scared. 

“No.” She said again.

“Come back to us Olive.” A voice demanded. She knew that voice.

She blinked and suddenly she was no longer in the burning building but rather the common room. 

The other members of the Detective Club were looking at her. How did an above water day turn into a drowning one with nothing to make it that way?

“It’s okay.” Maps said but Olive cuts her off.

“It’s not okay! I--I...”

“Had a flashback.” Kyle finished. “It’s gonna be okay.”

The sad thing? Olive almost believes him. 

Back when they just became friends and even now, Kyle always means what he says. No lies, no easy way out. 

She doesn’t believe him, though, and something in her expression must say that because Colton speaks up,

“Flashbacks are a normal response to trauma.” When he sees everyone turn to him, he continues, “So I’ve been told.”

Pomeline rolls her eyes then turns back to Olive. “I bet you thought today was a good day.” Olive hesitates then nods. “Sometimes you can be having the best day and flashbacks can still happen.” At Olive’s questioning look, Pomeline sighed. “I just know, okay.” That was the end of that part of the talk.

“I just wish I didn’t have to deal with this.” Olive admittted.

“We all wish that for you but that’s not how it works.” Maps said. “You have us though.”

Everyone nodded and it seemed so easy. Maybe it is.

She nods. “Thanks.”

Pom rolls her eyes again but Olive doesn’t miss the small smile, “Whatever.” 

Kyle and Colton nod back and Maps smiles at her.

Olive knows she has trauma. Maybe some days, she drowns in it. 

Now, she knows she also has a lifeboat.

Pomeline Fritch Is What Jason Todd Fans Wish He Was

Hi. This post is anti canon Jason Todd. Please don’t read if you do not want to see that. In addition, I have not read every comic--both Gotham Academy and all of DC. This also includes spoilers for all the comics that are out right now, including Saved By The Bell Reve. 

Canon Jason Todd and fans’ ideas of Jason Todd are two different people. In some fans’ minds, Jason did no wrong. He was right in killing people, right in trying to kill Tim, and later Damian, right in pretending to be Dick to ruin his life. In some fans’ minds, he is a theatre kid, who loves to read and “Dick should be nice.” In some fans’ minds, Roy has a better dynamic/build for a relationship with Jason than Dick, and that is not true. 

Now, let’s talk about the title for this post. 

I was thinking about it after seeing some anti Jason posts. Let’s look at Pomeline from Gotham Academy. She was introduced as the mean queen of the school. We later learn she is actually trying to save the school and later joins the Detective Club. She has a similar dynamic with the other Detective Club members that some Jason fans think he has with the other Bats.

Kyle: Kyle is the oldest of the group. He is a school Prefect and a tennis star. He is protective of his younger sister and friends. His sister Maps says something like, “he’s too lawful good to be in this party.” Pom goes on to call Kyle “Lawful Good” as a nickname sometimes. More than once in canon. Sound familiar? That’s because some fans have Jason call Dick “Golden Boy” or “Goldie” in some stories. Pomeline and Kyle is a friendship that is two people, who are not blood related, acting like siblings. The younger one calls the older one a nickname that talks about how good they are. The difference? Pomeline does not pretend to be him or try to kill him. Pom trusts and respects Kyle, even if she teases him a lot. She saved his life when he was taken.

Colton: Colton is the one who gets in trouble a lot but has a good heart. He is canonically not straight. He and Pom have an interesting and complex dynamic. However, it is obvious Pom cares about him. She calls her mom to prevent Colton from getting expelled. They argue and disagree but Pom never tried to kill him. Some think this is the canon dynamic for Jason and Tim, but it is not. 

Olive: Olive is the girl who Pomeline bullied. Once again, complex dynamic but Pom apologizes when she was wrong. Their ancestors were best friends. While Pomeline is not afraid to point out what Olive did wrong, she still obviously cares about Olive. She helped save the day and Olive when Olive was taken over by her ancestor. 

Maps: Maps is the youngest of the group. She sees the good in everyone until she finally can’t anymore. It is canon that she has a line. She is still friends with Pomeline. 

Pomeline has shown to be a complex and interesting character. She is not perfect, but that’s okay.

Pretty

(Hi. I own nothing DC owns. This is inspired by a conversation from the Gotham Academy discord about Kyle possibly having scars from when Olive accidentally burned him. Thanks @mistymooffin ! Warning for: burns and scars. Enjoy!)

Kyle used to get called pretty a lot growing up. He got that even more once he started Gotham Academy.

He doesn’t hear it that often anymore.

Kyle doesn’t know what’s happening. 

He didn’t even like it when people flirted with him, but now...

It’s just really confusing. He doesn’t know who he can talk to.

Whenever Olive looks at him, looks at his scars, she gets that sad look in her eyes that he can’t make worse.

Pomeline and Colton could be going through their own things. 

He can’t do that to Maps. 

The stares slow down as time passes—but they never really stop. Neither do the whispers.

“I heard he got caught in a Firefly attack” “Maybe a different team attacked him.” “I bet he did it to himself.”

Kyle’s face isn’t fully burned—only a bit on the bottom on his face. His arms, chest, and stomach were burned. Nurse Sam said he’s lucky it has no lasting effects other than pain sometimes.

Most of the time, the whispers don’t affect him. He considers those good days. Some of the days, they do. Those are called bad days.

Kyle knows why he can’t tell anyone. What’s he supposed to say, “Hey. I was actually burned by Olive, who was possessed by her ancestor! This is after I punched Two Face…in the face!” Not only would that put Olive in danger, but nobody would believe that.

He sits alone in his dorm after class on a bad day.

Laughter and whispers followed him the whole day.

He sat alone until a knock sounded through the door.

Kyle sighed and picked himself off the bed, walked to the door, and opened it. He expected to see Mia or a Professor.

Colton stared back at him.

“Hey. Is everything okay?” Kyle asked, moving to let Colton in. The other boy came in.

“Everything with me is fine.”

Kyle paused. “Is it someone else.”

Did something happen? Where’s Maps? Did Batman show up again? Did Amy? C—

“No. This is about you.” Colton said looking at him.

Kyle paused once more. It was silent for a few moments before Kyle spoke, “What? What do you mean? I’m fine.”

“Kyle, man, you’re not. I know that people can suck. I’m not here to force you to talk. I figured we could just eat snacks and talk about anything.”

“You would do that?”

“Of course.” Colton answered immediately. Then, looked embarrassed. “I mean, I’m your friend.”

Kyle smiled. Then he frowned.

“Do you…stupid question, do you think I’m pretty?”

Colton examined him, then he took off his glasses.

Kyle was always amazed to see Colton’s green eyes. His black eye looked to be healing well.

“That is a stupid question.” Colton agreed. “Of course I think you’re pretty.”

Kyle snorted. “Of course? That’s the thing: it isn’t that easy? None of our classmates would agree with you.”

“Since when do I—or you for that matter—care about what our classmates say?”

“I don’t know.” Kyle admitted.

“Exactly.” Colton said like it was the most obvious thing in the world. Maybe it is.

“What kind of snacks did you bring?” Kyle asked.

Colton smiled and Kyle smiled back.

The Problem (And Safety) With Costumes

(Hi. I have not read all of Gotham Academy. I own nothing DC /Marvel owns. This idea came to me. Enjoy!)

Colton walked up to his friends, who were also already in their costume for the party.

He noticed Kyle wasn’t there. 

“What’s up---Maps, why are you dressed like a squirrel. 

“I’m Squirrel Girl!” Maps exclaimed. 

He looked at Olive. 

Olive shrugged. “Some comic thing.”

Pomeline smirked. “I see you took my advice.”

Colton looked down at his Kid Flash costume. 

He wanted to be The Flash, but Pomeline said he had to show his red hair for whatever reason. She said they were the same person (because he’s in the first Kid Flash costume) but come on!

“Hey.” He heard Kyle from behind him and smiled. “Awesome costumes.”

“Hey Kyle.” He turned around to thank him when the words died on his tongue. 

There was Kyle, his crush for forever, in a Nightwing costume.

“Cool...costume.” He offered, sounding as lame as he felt. 

“Thanks.” Kyle beamed at him. “It was Pomeline’s idea.”

“There were not a lot of dark haired superheroes.” She said it like she didn’t care but he didn’t miss the smirk in her voice. 

“Funny, there actually is. Not that Nightwing’s not great.” He assured. 

“Yeah. I’ll see you all in there.”

They watched him leave. 

“You are actually the worst person ever.” Colton muttered. 

“What’s the problem? Nightwing and Kid Flash are best friends.”

“You know everyone thinks they were in love at some point.”

Pomeline’s laugh echoed in the halls. 

Colton sat on a chair in the hall.

He doesn’t know why he was shocked. Kyle has always been popular and he looks awesome. Why wouldn’t girls look at him? 

“Hey. You okay?” Kyle asked, as he walked out.

“Yeah...no.”

“What’s up? Someone give you a hard time?”

“Yeah. You.”

Kyle raised an eyebrow behind the mask and Colton realized he said that out loud. 

“What did I do? You’ve been avoiding me.”

“There’s a reason.” Colton said then said nothing.

“You...don’t have to tell me but I’m here--”

“Kid Flash likes Nightwing.”

“Uh, yeah. They’re best friends.”

“No. He really likes Nightwing. He likes Nightwing the way that makes his heart stop and beat crazy at the same time. He likes Nightwing the way that makes him want to break all the rules to get his attention, but at the same time doesn’t want Nightwing to be stressed out. He likes Nightwing the way that makes him believe in a love that he thought he had given up on. He likes Nightwing the way that Nightwing doesn’t like him back.” Colton took a breath.

Kyle took a breath.

“I know. We can forget about it.” He started to get up. 

“Colton,” Kyle said and Colton paused and sat back down. 

Kyle looked to be searching for the right words. 

“Nightwing likes Kid Flash back. He likes Kid Flash the way that makes him feel in the best way--that scares him but he wouldn’t trade it. He likes Kid Flash the way he always heard about but better. He likes Kid Flash in a way that feels like his heart is on fire in the best way. He absolutely likes Kid Flash back.”

“Can... Kid---Can I hold your hand.”

Kyle smiled and offered his hand.

Their hands fit well.

Mizoguchi sibs hc.

So we all know how Kyle and Maps are polar opposites in a lot of aspects, but please let’s not forget that they are siblings, so consider: - Kyle and Maps casually watching movies together and one points at the ugly monster of the movie TM and says “It you.” In a dead pan voice. -Maps practically scaling Kyle whenever she needs to reach something. Because of course she couldn’t simply ask. -Kyle simply collapsing on Maps randomly whenever he’s tired. - “Get off! You are heavy!” “No, this is your fate now.” - Maps stealing his clothes because she didn’t pack enough for herself. - “Isn’t that your shirt?” “Not anymore apparently. Damn, I liked this shirt.” - Kyle taking revenge by stealing her hair pins. -“Seriously now? Your still wearing the visor too!” “I think the sparkly flower goes really well with it.” -Their snapchats are amazing. There are really cute pictures of them doing stuff together but then the captions say stuff like “I want to be Serena Williams -Kyle unironically at age 16” or “Do you think Damian Wayne could be Batman?- Mia asking the real questions here.” also several ‘family reunion’ pictures with the captions “I know like 3 people in this picture.” and “Who the crap is aunt sara?!” Also “The awkward moment when you have to explain to the girl that’s been hiting on you that you’re actually her cousin and not the waiter.” “The moment where your brother get’s mistaken for the waiter because he can’t stand unwashed dishes on tables XD #neatfreakstrikesagain - Their other social medias aren’t better. - pointing and grunting as legitimate ways to communicate. - "I’m telling mom!” - “Hey do you remember how-” *Groan* - “I have a idea!” “Oh please don’t, we are on vacation.” “It involes a dog.” “…..” “It won’t harm the dog.” “I’m listening.” - “Do you ever think about stuff like dating and kissing cute boys? Marrying Ryan Potter or Colton? You know, stuff like that?” “That’s oddly speci- …You think Colton is as attractive as Ryan Potter?” “………Just answer the question please.” - “If coconut oil is made of coconuts and olive oli is made out of olives then shouldn’t baby oil-” “CAN’T WE HAVE ONE NICE FAMILY DINNER?!” - “Kyle!” “No! It’s 4 am, go away Mia!” “I had the scarry clown dream!” “Tell him I’ll kick his a- um butt!” “Pom was in it.” “….how about we watch ponyo until you can sleep again?” - “MOM!” “You two do realize this is the Academy, right?” “OLIVE!”

sorry it took so long to respond to this but i wasnt at my computer alkhdsg but yes i absolutely do!

kyle kiiiinda knows colton has a crush on him but he has no idea how to deal with it, the poor boy

he doesn’t like, not like him back? but his only prior relationship experience is with olive (and this girl named kelsey in third grade, who he “dated” for like, a week, but he doesnt think that counts) so that’s. confusing and maybe a little intimidating

also he’s like, scared, because his relationship with olive didn’t end particularly well, yknow? and he’s still a little hung up on olive bc you know how first loves are 

hes also a little afraid of his crush on colton because like. it’s colton. the guy who brings fireworks to school and steals teacher’s cars for funsies. the biggest rule he’s ever broken on his own was the academy’s “no snacks in dorms rule” (he has a stash of candy bars. shh!!)

colton is the only person who knows about his secret stash. he was pretty impressed. kyle smiled for days afterwards because he felt badass.

ever since he got dragged into the detective club, colton’s been asking him if he wants to hang out, like, all the time. he usually says no, because he has practice, but they’ve played pokemon go together a few times. 

colton is team valor and his prized pokemon is a cp2572 dragonite. he runs all the gyms near school and never misses a chance to brag about it. kyle is team instinct and his favorite pokemon is a cp300 sandslash, bc he thinks it looks cool. he has never challenged a gym.

maps figured out colton’s crush and thinks theyre cute together and is always scheming to get them alone together. she is, occasionally, successful, but never ever subtle. one time she locked them in a closet together. they were not amused.

pomeline gets in on it too. maps’s success skyrockets when she’s working with pomeline, as a matter of fact. except that time she talked maps into trying a matchmaking spell with her.. that one didn’t work out so great. another guy named kyle was mooning over colton for two weeks, which was very confusing for everyone involved

colton is a lovestruck puppy who’s happy to do anything as long as kyle’s there, to be honest.

kyle’s a little less lovestruck but he still blushes whenever colton compliments him.. or smiles at him… or looks at him… or texts him

they actually text a lot. well, mostly it’s colton texting, kyle just responds because while he doesnt have much to say, he really doesnt want the conversation to end.

after awhile, colton starts sending a lot of pictures of animals doing cute things with the caption “this is us”. kyle has to bite his lip so he doesnt smile too big.

he also sends a lot of really weird memes. some are very funny. most of them are just weird tho. colton is a big fan of the farmers vs thespians conflict, for some reason? he also really, really likes “i love my gf” memes. initially, kyle is a little scared that colton actually has a girlfriend, but eventually he realizes that he just loves those memes.
