Have you heard of La La Land Kind Cafe? There are 5 locations and has crossed $6 million in revenue. I recently read an article about the owner, Francois Rehani.
He created the restaurants as a space where kids in the foster system learn and serve. But he doesn't advertise his mission or push it in people's faces, he simply created a cafe with a dope vibe with a purpose. I love this! The closest one to me is in Santa Monica and I'm planning on going the next time I'm in that area. I'd love to hear if you've ever been!

Nikki at Mixed Grounds because so friendly when I was having a sad morning. I discovered a new (to me!) coffee shop today. It's called Mixed Grounds. There was also a customer wearing a t-shirt that said "Stop Asian Hate" and he wasn't Asian. My heart melted. Being here was the pick me up I needed!

Chani
Anyone else using the Chani app? Created by astrologer Chani Nicholas, the app gives a weekly horoscope, transits, analysis of your birth chart, guided meditation, and journal prompts just to name a few!
Tumblr media
The journal prompts are really insightful. I journal daily and have to really think about my answers to the questions she poses on her app (this is the premium version only). There's SO much information. I'm just getting into astrology but the horoscopes and insights have been spot on so far.

Amex Airport Lounge. This is a new discovery for me! I used to wait in uncomfortable terminals but never again! The lounge in Cancun has terrible food but there is a room with a door and comfy leather chaise sofas. My boyfriend and I had it to ourselves and we were able to drink some wine, take a nap, and read a book in peace.

It's crazy how much energy we spend trying to avoid these hard topics when they're really the only ones that can set us free.

A video I made for Fitafy with the help of my friend, Jon. Interested in a video for your brand? Message me!
I've taken up skating recently and I love it! I'm still not very good but Jon was super patient with me. Also, how beautiful is Mission Bay during sunset?

If you've read my other blog posts regarding the Day One app, you'll know that I'm obsessed with journaling. I have over 53,000 entries in my Day One journal. So I was surprised to hear one of my idols, Patrick Grove, give a talk about how he has used journaling to become rich. In this Mindvalley interview, Patrick discusses with Vishen Lakhiani how he has used journaling to make millions all while rocking flip flops and a flower behind his ear.

I KNOW I can get plants for half the price at Home Depot. But can I take cute photos in peace, get a Schitt’s Creek greeting card, & bring home a new crystal all in one trip there? Noooooo.

Using My Own Voice to Manifest
If you’re like me, you talk to yourself all day. But sometimes I could be really mean to myself! “Seriously Glad? You messed up again?” “Damnit Glad, why can’t you remember if you turned the air conditioner off?” I needed to fill that crap in my head with more positive thoughts instead of nagging ones. I tried doing it on my own, stopping that voice mid sentence when I heard negativity but it was hard. Our voices can lie to us all day and try to convince us that we’re not worthy, or not able or not cute in an outfit. I felt like I was scolding myself when negativity would come through.
Tumblr media
In 2005, The National Science Institute published an article that estimated we have up to 60,000 thoughts a day and 95% are repetitive. So we're constantly living in the past. I knew to be happier, I had to start living in the present. So now, I’ve leveled up my gratitude and use ThinkUp for visualizations. I begin by typing out a detailed goal. I have many - ex: what my office will look like in Tulum or the number of plants I'll own in my dream home. I then begin recording, pausing in between each sentence to give myself time to FEEL inside what that moment will be like. For example, when I visualize my future office, I talk about the sun coming in through the windows. The brightness, the heat, the look of how it hits the wood floor. As I hear my voice describing this moment, I give myself time to feel contentment, curiosity, wonder. Because that’s the true secret to manifestation right? It’s bringing that joy inside of you and having a clear and vivid picture in your mind of where you’re going and what that’s going to look like.
There are pre-written affirmations from experts and publishers to help you get started and set a foundation for creating a better life!
My ThinkUp recordings about one topic can be as long as five minutes. What’s helpful is ThinkUp allows posts to have categories so you don’t have to sit and listen to all the visualizations at once. Sometimes when I’m feeling unproductive or unmotivated, I play my work category and remind myself why I’m doing this. It’s like having a conversation with your soul. A cheerful, encouraging and loving voice that has been with you since you were born, telling you you’re awesome and that life is good! ThinkUp has changed my visualization routine and I’m so happy I found it.
