From last night's quest to keep supporting local eats. It really stuck with me how grateful they were to us, given how the current situation is hitting some businesses very hard. There was a deep sincerity in the counter person's voice and they offered up some free sodas. Last day of quarantine. It's been a long two weeks but necessary. It's gonne be even weirder going back to my "essential" job since I've been out for 3 weeks, due to being sick for a week before being placed into quarantine. Hell, I'm hoping I still know how to drive my truck(it's a manual transmission)! It'll be good to return to a routine, to find some normalcy in these weird times. It'll also help pass the time since sitting at home, reading about the world crumbling around me, wasn't doin me any favors. So yeah, happy Friday. Time to get back to work! Spoke to the doctor and yup! I'm in the same quarantine timeframe as Nicole, and it starts today! So if I'm healthy, by April 3rd, I'll be cleared to return to work. Hopefully there is still work but since we deal in aerospace and medical, we may fall under "essential work" which I'd be happy to go back and contribute. It's funny how some days you wish you could just take a few weeks off to recharge your battery, and now that it's a doctor's order, I'm like "Well fuck...how many days has it been... WHAT DO YOU MEAN IT'S STILL DAY ONE??!?!" Yup. So here we go. I'll be sure to document the slow downward spiral we take, as our brains turn to goo. Hard to believe this was a week ago. Warm weather, a clean patio, dogs and cats living together...MASS HYSTERIA!! But, in general, not much of a sense of what was to come. Fast forward a week and there's a few inches of snow and we are about to leave the house one last time, to get some prescriptions. After that we can't leave till April 3rd. Weird times. Been out from work, for the past week, because I've been waiting on test results for something that's been bothering me for a lil bit. Yesterday, Nicole was able to get in to see a doctor, which was a relief. After a bit of waiting in the car (social distancing) she comes out and tells me bad new. She definitely has a virus, which pretty much means I probably do too. Since she isn't considered "high risk" or not showing the more dangerous symptoms, they didn't test her for COVID. But, that doesn't mean we don't actually have it, there's simply just not enough resources for us to know. Instead, we are being ordered into a two week quarantine. I called them, once home and left a message. I'm waiting to find out more information, for my work, and if that means that's two weeks on top of what I've already been off. Probably is. So...yeah. Be safe out there, this shit is real. I guess this will give me plenty of time to keep in touch and be more active on here or something.
