My Rottmnt oc, Surge! (The name isn’t final yet though 9-9)

He’s a blacktip reef shark who lives in the hidden city docks (see portal-jacked) and may-or-may-not be related to the turtles

I’ll make a reference for him soon, but I still need to flesh-out his backstory, so let’s see how this goes! :D

I seriously feel like I’m improving a lot recently, I’ve finally gotten over artblock and learned how to draw backgrounds, and I’ve gotten better at shading too!

Im currently brewing a rottmnt oc, (a redesign of my old oc that I haven’t posted here) and the art I’m making for it is scratching my brain-

I’m on that post-artblock high and I finally figured out backgrounds (hopefully it will last lol)

Maybe next, I will get shading powers? Only time will tell, anyway, pics of the old oc under the cut

I think this is one of the times where you should use the common head cannon, because like, all of the anthropomorphic yokai and mutants wear clothes all the time (as far as I’m aware) so it would be weird if they weren’t wearing /anything/ (their shells might count as clothes in yokai society? Anyway, that’s beside the point lmao)

Actually, now that I’m typing this I realise hugin and moonin are also naked so I’m not really sure? Net zero information reblog ig

Genuinely, I know this is irrelevant and a dumb thing to think about, but are the rise boys wearing shorts? Ron Corcillo responded to a tweet saying “those are shadows, not shorts.” (Paraphrasing. I don’t have enough energy to scroll for 2 hours to find the post on twitter. Maybe someone else has it saved and can add it to this)

I think Raph is wearing shorts, judging by how the lights continues over his leg. The others don’t have that. I think that’s on purpose, but I’m not sure. But then again, why would only Raph wear shorts?

I always assumed they did? I saw what Ron said and now I feel a little stupid.

If they were, it would be the first iteration (I think?) for them to wear shorts. I’m only asking because I’ve constantly drawing them a with the assumption that they have shorts.
