My first week photo was a self-portrait showing media which has helped define me. I think this Star Wars magazine does a good job of showing how Star Wars can often overwhelm the others in how I’m perceived.

Week 43:

Storytelling: Film Noir

Film Noir is a dark and moody type of photography well suited to storytelling. So tell us a story using Film Noir.

Many of my favorite film noir (Brick, Fargo) take the genre’s themes and archetypes out of the darkness and into the sunlight. I feel like that’s exemplified by this image of California Palm Trees aside creeping shadow.

Week 41:

Composition: Color Theory

Color Theory is a huge part of composition that most photographers don't explore. So it is time to explore it. Use Color Grading to create an image that looks like it is a still from a movie

In order to achieve a filmic look, I graded this to have orange tinted highlights and blue tinted shadows.  I also cropped it to a 16 x 9 ratio.
