I was sad to hear about the recent passing of Wakayama’s Super Station Master Tama-chan. I had the chance to visit Tama-chan a number of times over the past 7 years or so. I saw first hand how one little cat brought smiles to the many who journeyed to Kishi Station. I saw the transformation of Kishi station – from a small rural nondescript wooden building, to a modern state-of-the-art museum dedicated to one super special cat. Tama-chan will be missed, but her legacy, however strange and wonderful it may be, will live on through Ni-Tama and the good people of Wakayama <3
