He couldn’t believe it. Or actually, he could. Sirius was a fool. But Remus never knew that his stupidity would lead to death.

Ring Ring

Remus huffed and trodded over the clothes strewn floor, and bustled through the neglected kitchen. He plucked the phone from the receiver and waited not so patiently for the other end to stop crackling. “Yes?” He enquired, massaging the back of his head. He threw up his hand and held it in front of him “If this has anything to do with black..” he added cautiously. “Well, listen-“ the voice at the other end of the line said. “No, no!” Remus interrupted “I’m not doing this, you know I’m not doing this.” He had made it very clear that no amount of talking and assuring and convincing was going to make this situation any better. “I know you don’t want to hear it, and I know you’re very tired, but we just need to talk to you!” A different, weak and unsure voice said. “Remus, just take his childhood into account. Muggle law has to have some sort of exceptions for these kind of things? And they’re dead anyway, it hardly counts.” He tried. “Shockingly, James, I don’t think the police are going to go easy on a punk who’s stolen from what they believe are his well off Tory family. Even if they were pricks.” James made a frustrated noise, and Peter tried to reason that if they got the wizard police involved there was a law that could get him out of it. They both scolded him promptly.

“You know what, if they really hate him they could try to charge him with manslaughter.” Remus pointed out. “Now that’s a bit far, even for you. The woman died of a heart attack, and he just happened to be there. “Hm, yeah. It was probably coming. She hardly went into shock over a nicked T-Rex record.” He said, absent mindedly pushing books on the desk into place. After a minute, James broke the silence. “D’you reckon his aunt was there to steal as well? Apparently she’s had a feud with walburga over some old locket for years.” Remus sighed in acknowledgment, not really caring about black family feuds. “Anyway, I don’t think his punishment will be too severe, because Pete and I are off to the station in the morning to tell them that nobody shared his mothers will with him, so he couldn’t have known what was his to take, and that he was also really, terribly drunk..” James said regrettably with a tinge in his voice that let Remus know the night out had been mental. Sirius was always irresponsible when he was with the quidditch team, but not so much that he tries to break in to his parents house to steal whatever relics of his childhood that remained. “It’ll be ok, Remus!” Peter piped. “He’ll be back home in no time.” Remus guffawed, despite the circumstances. “Oh I’m not worried. He got himself into this bollocks and he’ll get himself out of it. I just can’t wait to give him a good telling off.”

when giving gifts, Edwin says “I know it’s not much..” and it’s literally the most sought after magical trinket. He also feels very chuffed when the response to a gift is “This is exactly what I wanted!!” (Nobody knows how he does it) (how does he do it??) Despite the trauma, he does quite enjoy a traditional Christmas and insists on a nativity scene in the corner of the office.

Niko takes gift giving very seriously. She starts her Christmas shopping in July, and loses track of how much she’s buying, because if she sees something someone would love, it’s coming with her. Her favourite part, however, is decorating. Leave her alone with an empty space and some decorations and you will return to something magnificent.

Charles does like Christmas, but it makes him quite anxious, considering his childhood. He does his best at gift giving, and you’ll likely end up with a little thing that means a lot. He leaves Niko to the decorating, but you’ll see a family heirloom here and there. Although his strong point is definitely the food. It may not be authentic, but he can whip up some delicious desi dishes as a Christmas dinner replacement. Yorkies? No. Paratha? Yes.

Crystal has always had a very material based Christmas. And this has stuck with her. In her head, if she doesn’t spend lots of money on people she hardly knows, it wouldn’t be Christmas at all. The Christmas lights give her a migraine, but she does secretly think the decor is super cute. She knows her cooking basics, and does help Charles out, but gets flustered when something isn’t done her way.

I have searched the internet far and wide for this album, and I still have not found a way to listen to it. It exists for sure, but the actual music is nowhere to be found. Is this considered lost media?

bring back the habits that made you happy as a child. there’s no reason you should ever have to give up harmless things that bring you joy. you don’t have to age out of having fun. finger paint. write mediocre fanfiction and questionable poetry. put chocolate chips in your waffles. sing in the bath, and while working in the yard, and while washing your hands. hammer tunelessly on a piano. spin in circles until you fall down. climb a tree. just because you’re now in charge of your life doesn’t mean you’re expected to give up on the things that make life feel worth living
