gabe’s voice is not what it used to be.

there was esophageal and vocal cord damage which was as a result of his manner of death. he can speak, it is simply much more gravelly and raspy now. the presence of ‘reaper’ also causes a haunting reverb in the under current of his tonality.

also? he doesn’t like to talk at length because it genuinely hurts to do so. he does his best to keep what he says frank and to the point.

as a result of the ‘reaper virus’ and being essentially undead... gabe doesn’t really require sleep anymore. it doesn’t do anything for him. he is capable of sleep, he can rest, but it is simply something no longer needed for him.

he will rest / nap with people who are important to him --- only in private settings though --- because it is necessity for them.

moira very much lied and omitted things when she began experimenting on gabe around the blackwatch era.

she told him that her experimentations would help him manage his chronic pain and other issues that were resultant of SEP... when really she was testing her ‘reaper virus’ on him. it was a prototype of things --- and she essentially used him as a practice subject for it. as time went on she added more and more to the formula for conditioning him, which was increased even further after the virus had initially brought him back from death / his early time in talon.

as a result, his current and now long-term refusal of medical treatment [in becoming more and more his old self] is more detrimental to him than he anticipated. his chronic pain is more than back... along with the old issues from SEP and something that feels / acts very much like withdrawal.
