Saturday Ice Cream turned into Sunday Ice Cream. After the race friends and I stopped by Marché Jean-Talon because I wanted to pick up some sausages, bread, and local strawberries. Masala Chai, lulo, and Quebec strawberry sorbet from Harve au Glace was most excellent. (at Marché Jean-Talon)

Rhubarb Strawberry Pie with all butter flakey crust in a fancy lattice weave. Very impressed with how @bravetart pie dough recipe holds its intricate shape and so well-behaved! Controlled development of gluten rocks. The filling is a recipe from @smittenkitchen thickened with minute tapioca. It's tart and fruity without collapsing into a puddle of juice. Aside from the fact that I messed up the herringbone weave so the nice side is facing inside the filling, this is one of my best double-crust fruit pie to date. I love how this buttery crust can stand up to juicy filling. Millionaire's Shortbread, the @testkitchen way. Love the reliable and phenomenal result! Crumbly tender shortbread, soft caramel, and shiny snappy chocolate top! Shortbread was easily made in food processor and pressed in pan. The caramel did not threaten to separate as the recipe promised. But it was the microwaved and properly tempered chocolate layer that I was most pleasantly surprised. A little out of character for me but some goodies I bought last weekend in Montreal are these sausages and cretons from @ilsenfumentdubon. Lots of creative favours! Can't wait to try the Cabane a Sucre (sugar shack with crispy bacon, beans, maple syrup) and Bacon & Cheese Curd sausages. Also the dates and herbs cretons, a fatty pork spread for breakfast. They have a big selection of craft beer at the store toom because sausage and beer go together naturally. I also picked up some pistachios paté at a different store. Meat meat meat!
