strawberry luck spell
strawberries are well known in magick to bring about good fortune and favourable circumstances. this is a simple spell to call the energy of the strawberry and bring you luck and perhaps help improve the outcome of a situation. best done during a waxing moon. you will need:
♥ a large ripe strawberry (luck, fortune, favor)
♥ a pinch of sugar (getting what you wish for)
♥ a green candle (good luck and fortune)
light the green candle and hold the strawberry in your hand. pluck the leaf from the top and wave it over the flame (so as not to burn it), then place it in front of the candle to rest.
as you hold the strawberry, think about the issue at hand and what you’d like the outcome to be. meditate on that until you feel as though the strawberry has been adequately charged.
sprinkle a bit of sugar onto your tongue and then eat the strawberry. blow out the candle, and carry the strawberry leaf in your pocket to bring good luck with you.

a spell to bring forth winter snow
the autumn leaves continue to rot, and winter has begun to kiss the trees and loom over us. i live in an area where snow is rare and fleeting; if you live somewhere like this, here is a spell to encourage snow to fall. best done during a waxing moon. you will need:
❄ a dry bay leaf (wish granting) and a pen
❄ peppermint tea (strengthening energy of a space, transformation)
❄ blue and white candles
❄ an ice cube tray
on your bay leaf, write “bring me snow”. once the ink is dry, fold or crumble the bay into an ice cube tray and pour water over it, and pop it in the freezer.
as you wait for the leaf to freeze, light your candles and brew your peppermint tea. visualize the winter weather you wish to have; gentle snowflakes falling silently on the white earth. stay warm by the candleflame.
once the bay leaf is frozen in ice, take the ice cub outside and bury it in some soil near your home. as the leaf thaws and melts into the soil, and the moon waxes towards fullness, your energy will resonate and encourage snowfall.

A quick, annoying, relatively harmless curse
You’ll need
A pillow case (preferably baby blue, liliac, or white. Basically a soft pastel color.)
Clock hands (easy to get in craft or hardware stores)
Cotton and/or
Lavender and/or
A white soft (baby) feather/s
If you want, add the target’s name.
Take the clock hands and bend them in half WITHOUT SNAPPING THEM.
Place them inside the pillow case with the rest of the correspondences.
Hush softly inside the pillow case or sing a lullaby.
When you’re done, tie as many knots as you can with the remaining of the pillow case as the filling sits at the bottom.
If you feel you need it, chant:
“Sleepy baby,
Close your eyes.
Sleep through all
Of your alarms.
Even coffee
Can’t take back
Those dark bags
Under your eyes.
Regardless when
You go to bed
Wake up tired
Sleepy head.”
Hide the case somewhere away from the light. If possible, under the bed. To undo the curse, simply undo the knots and ring a bell or alarm by the contents while letting light reach them.
I think it’s my favorite curse of all the ones I’ve designed.
IT’S SO FUCKING ANNOYING.

Lucid Lemon Tarts
You will need:
Curd
2 large eggs
1/3 cup lemon juice, approx. 2 lemons
1 egg yolk
¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
½ cup sugar
2 tablespoons unsalted butter, cold
1 tablespoon heavy cream
¼ tsp salt
Tartlet Dough
1 1/3 cups all-purpose flour
1 stick (8 tbsps) unsalted butter
¼ cup granulated sugar
¼ tsp salt
1 egg yolk
Witchy Ingredients
Lemon Juice
Vanilla Extract
Instructions:
1. Cut the butter for the dough into the all-purpose flour, making sure to cut off small chunks at a time.
2. Using your hands, crumble the flour and butter together until it has a nice, sandy/crumbly consistency.
3. Fold in sugar, egg yolk, and salt. Stir until combined. Once uniform, fold and knead with your hands on a lightly floured surface.
4. Spray or grease a mini-muffin tin. Roll out the dough so as to cut it into rounds to fit the tin. You can also take spoonfuls of dough and press them directly into the tin, using a small shot glass to press down into the dough to create a well.
5. Bake tartlet dough at 350F (175C) for about 20 minutes, or until nice and golden. Set aside to cool while you make the lemon curd.
6. Heat your lemon juice in a small pot until steaming, do not boil.
7. In a separate bowl, whisk eggs and gradually add sugar and vanilla until well combined and uniform in color. Slowly whisk in hot lemon juice, stirring to combine.
8. Return mixture to pot and heat over medium, stirring constantly. You want the curd to reach a temperature of 170F (75C) but if you don’t have a candy thermometer, cook/stir until the mixture coats the back of your spoon without sliding off.
9. Remove from pan and cut the butter reserved for the lemon curd into the pot in small chunks. Stir to combine.
10. Cool the lemon curd before spooning into the cooled tartlet cups.
Where will you incorporate Kitchen Magick?
Lemons - Lemons, funnily enough, have a planetary connection to the moon and are frequently used by water elementals. Good for use when trying to please/make an offering to Diana. Longevity, happiness, friendship.
Vanilla - Associated with venus and most often used in love potions. Water elemental and feminine. Vanilla is thought of as an ingredient well-associated with hospitality, calmness, soothing, and mental clarity.
Tips/Tricks
If you undercook the lemon curd and find that the consistency is too lose when you add the butter, just pop it back on the stove and heat/stir it over medium until the consistency is thick enough to be spooned into the tartlet cups!
My tartlets are above! I added some candied lemon peel for a little decoration :)

Yule Practices
Yule is about celebrating the Sun’s long journey back towards the Earth. During the time leading up to Yule, it’s a good idea to do some deep cleaning and de-cluttering, followed by a cleansing ritual so you have a fresh space to celebrate.
Before Yule - A time for preparation
Knit or sew new clothes
Prepare for winter
Store food and herbs for winter use
Take in potted plants and harvest the last of your herbs
Arts & Crafts
Make stove top potpourri
Make witch balls and hang them around your home or on a tree
Make a wreath using herbs that correspond with your intent (peace, happiness, prosperity, etc)
Use birch branches to craft a besom
Cleaning & Cleansing
As you do any cleaning, visualize removing all of the negative energy from your life
Clean your bathroom – scrub toilets, wipe down counters, clean out the bathtub
Clean your mirrors
Clean your windows
Finish all your cleaning with a good smoke cleanse using sage, sweetgrass, pine needles or mistletoe, along with your other favorite herbs. Start at the front door and move the incense around the doors and windows of every room, following the lines of the walls.
Get rid of all the extra clutter in your house
Replace your home’s air filter
Sprinkle carpets and rugs with baking soda and vacuum, making sure you move all your furniture to get underneath. Vacuum walls, baseboards, ceiling fans and all the other hard-to-reach places
Use a broom to sweep up dirt
Cooking
Bake and cook with family and friends, blessing the food with intent of prosperity and happiness
Brew cider infused with herbs and fruit that correspond with prosperity and happiness
Cook a feast of wintery foods
Decorating
Add comfy white pillows filled with herbs to your sofa for a sacred space to meditate
Decorate your tree and bless all of your ornaments
Hang golden suns around your house to welcome back the sun
Hang mistletoe for love and protection
Hang a sprig of holly in the house for good luck and safety
Leave out birdseed ornaments
Light lots of candles to symbolize bringing light back into your life
Spell-casting & Divination
Cast spells for peace, introspection, wishes and new beginnings.
Do a winter solstice tarot spread for yourself
Cast spells for light, purification, renewal and rebirth
Divination centered around messages and omens
Other Activities
Burn a Yule log in honor of the sun, and toss in a sprig of holly to burn away the troubles of the past year. note: use only a small amount of holly if burning indoors, as the fumes are toxic
Give gifts
Go carolling
Make holly water by soaking the leaves overnight in spring water under the full moon
Play in the snow and collect some to use in spells
Take a walk under the full moon and record any important thoughts or visions you receive
Tie up any loose ends in your life
Volunteer in your community or donate old belongings
Write about your reflections of the past year and what your goals are that you’d like to achieve by the end of the coming year. Bless the page with motivation and love.
After Yule - A time for resting
Do not make new plans
Sleep as much as possible
Take care of your body
Take hot baths and moisturize your skin

A Deep Room Cleanse
The state of my room is extremely important to me. It’s a direct reflection of my mental health, so when it’s messy, my energy levels are low and I just feel yucky. There’s no way I’m getting any kind of work done, magical or mundane. When it feels good and clean to be in, it’s a lot easier to deal with my symptoms and be productive. You don’t have to do every step every time of course, but each step has helped me so I figured a list like this might help someone.
Change the lighting. Use natural sources of light (like pulling back the curtains and letting the sun in) over artificial ones. If you have salt lamps to turn on, those are still very nice. If you need artificial light to keep it from being too dark, try to prioritize light bulbs you like the color of, and ones that don’t whistle quietly when they’re on.
Change the airflow. Open a window, if you can. Often our rooms feel yucky because the air is stale. Get some fresh air moving. If it’s too cold, it’s okay to only keep it open for a few minutes or put on a coat while you work because you’re stubborn like me.
Change the sound. Put on your favorite cleansing music. Let it soak into the room. I tend to go or ambient spa stuff, or playlists that sound built for a rainy day. (Note: the music that helps you cleanse the best may not be the same as what you like the most. The playlist should keep you focused/uplifted while you work and reflect the vibes you want your room to have.)
Change the smell. Take out the trash, maybe refresh the sheets on your bed. Light a scented candle, some incense, heat up some oil, something to make your room smell distinctly different from the mucky-feeling room from before. (If your method of choice is something short like a room spray, I actually like doing it at the very end.)
Actually clean and organize. Nothing junks up the energy of a room more quicker than actual junk. Organize everything as much as you can (this might mean finally gutting your closet, even if you can close the door and hide it.) Wipe down any surfaces that need it, get everything fresh and functional again. Do some laundry while you work. If you have clothes or trinkets that are just collecting dust, extra points for purging them!
Cleanse any sacred spaces by themselves. A lot of us have altars or shrines in our rooms. A sacred space can also be just an extra important area of your room, like a reading nook. Make sure to give them extra attention! You don’t need to wipe the board energetically (and probably shouldn’t), but taking a little extra time to clean surfaces, straighten up, and make sure everything feels okay on them goes a long way.
Cleanse in your regular way. Bust out the herb bundles, the bells, the ribbons, the broom, whatever you usually do to cleanse a space! The room is SUPER primed for it now, most of the negative energy probably already feels removed if not broken down. A good once-over with your favorite cleansing method should finish it off nicely.
Refresh any wards or protections. Self explanatory. If you maintain energy borders in your room, now is a good time to check in on them and zhoosh them if needed. Keep the space clean for longer!
Practice self-care. Take a shower, a nap, eat some food, whatever you need. You’ve put in a lot of work and you deserve it.
