Interstellar x Le Express

There are plenty of movies about what could life be like if Earth was dying. Interstellar hits at this point having us confront planets beyond imagination and the sacrifices certain people make to find a solution - life beyond Earth. Matthew McConnaughey does a fantastic job and so does down to earth, grounded Anne Hathaway. 

After 3 hours in the Union Square theater, head over to french bistro Le Express for lunch. I had a butternut squash, fennel and arugula salad with a poached egg. Perfect and delicious for a late afternoon meal.

Salvation Taco x Salvation Taco

I have to honest - I wasn't a big fan the first time I stopped by BUT yesterday was killer. We orders the taco dinner lamb shoulder for 2. The meat was so tender that I could blow and it was fall off the bone. Not to mention it was more like for 4. It came with tortillas, cucumber salad and sour cream. Unbelievably delicious! 

I would recommend another spot nearby but whats better than doing a bit of exercise after a big dinner. So we headed to the back for a free game of ping pong. What's not to like! And it's a great social and design environment.

NYPL x Untamed

One of the few architectural institutions which has not gone through a modern makeover is the New York Public Library, now also known as the Stephen Schwarzman Building - the result of a hundred million dollar gift from the trustee. Its exterior and interior are beautiful and a must see.

A couple blocks away on 38th street between 5th and 6th ave is one of a kind sandwiches by Untamed. I love the braised lamb neck sandwich which is called the Nettle Neck.

Robert Gober x La Bonne Soupe

The Heart Is Not A Metaphor title exhibition at the MoMA rings true to the work of Robert Gober. It is real. It is palpable and it is in your face. The show is until Jan 18 2015.

After head around the corner for a bite at La Bonne Soupe which has come to mean a good life. Try the burgers with and without egg. =)

Two Hands x Pre TG Dinner

Good food by good dudes is Two Hands, a cafe in Little Italy. Opened by two Aussies, it's a perfect spot before work or on the weekend. I love a well designed and artisanal shop. It makes sipping an Americano and writing out some emails so much better! 

Then top it off with deep fried chicken, scallion pancakes (and an unfortunate bottle of cheap wine) and you have a perfect TG dinner. We licked it clean while watching Django. Quentin is good but this meal was better!

Wild movie x Ivy Connect

I had the privilege of watching the film screening of Wild this week. Unfortunately the movie has nothing on Into The Wild and I couldn't help thinking how good the latter is. Plus Reesie is just too pretty for the role. #thumbsdown
