Colby yawned and rubbed at his eyes, squinting up at the departures board in the vain hope it would update. No luck. But the incoming texts were doing a good job of keeping his spirits up.

[I’m excited too. But I’m probably not the best to ask on where to go yet. Someplace scenic sounds nice. Outside of large cities. Fresh air would be great.]

Mio had just sat down at a cafe when her phone buzzed. Seeing the name on the text immediately brought a smile to her face.

Colby blinked, startled by the sudden wave of questions, but he let out a huff of laughter.

“Well, uh, I dunno if I’ll be doing the gym challenge here yet,” he started with a small smile. “I grew up in Kanto, but I moved to Kalos and did the league challenge there. Kanto has the League there, too, but I wasn’t really interested in it at that point... But I do have a few Pokemon, like my Greninja that.... Uh, I got a permit to bring them over, but I gotta follow some strict rules while I’m here.”

"Would you look at those towering, great clouds over there?" ((*waves*))

��Oh?” Emily turned to look over where the other person was pointing. She gasped at the clouds, and grabbed her new polaroid camera,”Woah! Those are so neat!” She clicked several pictures, letting each picture come out of her camera. “That was a nice find, friend!”“But wait…Do you think they’ll come this way? Should we find shelter?”

He paused to mull the thought over. He hadn’t participated in any gym battles since his journey through Kalos. The reason he’d released and given away so many of his once-huge team was because they still itched for a good fight, and he didn’t have much drive to pursue that. He hadn’t really been considering Galar’s gyms, especially since some of his remaining team members were outright banned from official battles in this region. But still, maybe...

“Uh,” biting his lip, Colby glanced around, as if he’d see shelter suddenly spring out of nowhere. “I’m, uh, probably not a good person to ask. I only arrived in this region an hour ago...”

He’d only really left the town because he really needed to stretch his legs and get some fresh air after being cooped up in an airport and then an airplane for far too long. If he was being honest, he had spoken out loud about the clouds to tell his Shedinja, but this girl had heard him. Nagi rustled slightly on his shoulder.

{disssslike rainnn. awful nasssty damp} she hissed to him in sounds only he could hear as words. He gave the husk a placating pat on the head. “Town sounds good, I guess...”

"Would you look at those towering, great clouds over there?" ((*waves*))

They were quite picturesque, in that raw forces of nature kind of way. He wouldn’t mind sitting to sketch it out, had the winds not been pushing them in his direction. It was just his luck that only an hour off the plane, and there was another storm approaching. His Shedinja settled on his shoulder, hooking her claws into his shirt to stay steady.

“Uh, yeah... those are cumulonimbus clouds,” he replied, glancing over at the young trainer. “Might be best to, y’know, get inside. They look cool, but those tend to be the cause of some, uh, nasty weather.”
