A Fantastic meal that we had the opportunity to cook and learn from the chef at Wild Wood Spa in Biandur, north of Kundapur. This meal consisted of Shunit Bella da kashaya, bale dindu (Banana Stem ) juice, hibiscus leaf kote, Cut kane Curry , Bhrami Tambuli ( A yogurt and herb based cooler ), Kundapur Chicken sukkha, Keasa (colocasia root )Fry, Chakaramani Soppu chutney , among others. “ Marwai Pundi “ A one pot meal from Mangalore is essentially a dish made with the following : 500 gms Clams (Marwai) 1 cup grated coconut 1 tbsp coriander seeds 1 tsp cumin seeds 1/4 tsp fenugreek seeds 1/2 tsp turmeric pd 1 medium sized chopped onion 3-4 garlic cloves 1 sprig curry leaves 1 tsp pepper corns 1 tsp mustard seeds Salt to taste Pundi ( Rice Dumplings ) soaked rice that’s ground to a rough paste with a little water formed into balls and steamed.
