Lanora Chapter 3
Rain
Rain carried Lilly out of the woods. The search party looked confused at us. “How did you…” the Brandy trailed off.
“I just thought I heard something” Catrina lied. They looked at us unconvinced but eventually surged accepting that answer.
“Well at least she's safe,” Brandy said.
“Yeah, that's all that matters. Let's all just go home and get some rest,” Rain said trying to escape the situation before there's a chance for any questions to come up. “Her mother is at our place so well take her there.” with that they turned and started walking before anyone could protest.
A carriage that wasn’t there before they went into the woods was sitting on the road. The driver flicked the rain. The carriage shot forward quickly passing them.
They walked home in silence. She couldn’t say anything while Lilly was there. And she know that Catrina was taking full advantage of that to postpone the lecture that she knew was coming.
It was almost supper time when they made it home. The snow still lightly fell covering the ground completely.
As they approach the front door Catrina steps ahead of Rain to open the door. Luca and Clover sat across from each other at the kitchen table. The sound of the door opening snaps Clove out of a sort of trance. She looks up and at the sight of her daughter, she jumps up and races to her. “Lilly! Ow my baby I was so scared”
After the heartwarming reunion, they sat Lilly down in front of the fireplace to warm up. It was almost half an hour before she was feeling well enough to make the walk home. They saw them off together at the door. Though as soon as Clove and Lilly were far enough from the house to overhear Rain began laying into Catrina.
“What the hell were you thinking!” Rain scolded “Don't you see how such a recluse act could get us all in grave trouble”
“Calm down nothing happened outside of me being able to find Lilly that's all” Catrina responded, “You overreacting”.
“I’m overreacting? Really? Don't you hear what happens towards the borders every day?” rain yelled.
“Wait what happened? What are you talking about?” Luca asked.
Suddenly realizing he was there Rain turned to him. “Don't worry about it, Luca. why don't you just go to your room for a minute while we have a talk alright”
“But…” Luca began.
“No buts just go this doesn't concern you” Rain snapped back.
“Ok fine be that way,” he said as he walked off.
“This isn’t the border rain. Where hours north of there.“
“That doesn't matter there is a witchhunt Catrina and you are their perfect target.” she countered. “You think that just because we have been here our entire lives people with just accept you as one of them and not a threat? Well, they won’t and they never will. If they were to ever find out they would think we were some sort of spies. They would feel tricked and betrayed and they would turn on us faster than you could ever imagine”
“Rain. it's ok nothing going to happen.”
“ When we moved up here from Raila Mom and Dad had to work as hard to get the people here to trust us. Then when you were born a year later and were marked as a sparrow it put everything at risk Catrina. They had to work so hard to hide you until they figured out how to cover up the mark. they knew that if they didn’t we would have been ostracized and that was 16 years ago before the fighting between Lanora and Raila got bad,” Rain explained.
“I know how hard they worked and nothing has happened so far. Everyone in this town has known us our entire lives so I really don't think they would expect us of being a sparrow when they have never seen any mark of one. I know you're worried but it's ok nothing bad is gonna happen from this.” Catrina reassured.
“I really hope that that's true” Rain responded.

Update:
The cup has been fired and is now completely
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This cup is the visual representation of Flynn Rider. For context a girl in my ceramics class who I will refer to as L meet this guy who she beloved to had a star king resemblance to Flynn Rider. So of course L gave him this too tear compliment. She proceeded to tell Flynn that if she ever revived that compliment that she just Mary the person who told her that this. He responds to this was “now that I think about it u kinda look like repunzel”
Tumblr media
Anyway, when L was telling me about this conversation I can to the shocking realization that this man has commitment issues. So of course I told her this. My reasoning was that she told him this compliment and how she would Mary the person who gave her this compliment, but instead of giving her this compliment he gave her a similar but different out of fear of having to marry her. She starting to argue that well Flynn had never had a girlfriend so how could he have commitment issues. Before she was like “ow wait 😅 your right 😂” Anyway this has became a running gag between me and her. And she says how if L and her boyfriend ever broke up that her plan b is Flynn.
So back to the cup. She threw this cup on the wheel but she accidentally bumped it and it half collapsed into a heart shape. And we were like you have to give this to Flynn. So the design behind it is that the cup is uneven and has minimal design to represent his said commitment issues and how he wants the credit but faint want to put to much work in to the point he becomes invested. And to top it off she signed it SG. Which stands for that short girl. This is due to the fact that L found out that Flynn and his friends have been referring to L as “that short girl who fallows Flynn around”. Which is hilarious. Of course we had to ask her whether she’s been staking him or something when she told us this. She said no. So to double check we ask “are you sure” which she replied “I don’t think so”. So anyway this is my proof that Flynn rider has commitment issues.

The second chapter of the book I started and will probably never finish.
Lanora chapter 2- Sarris
The Carriage rumbled down the road as she stared aimlessly out of the side window. She had spent the pasted few days surveying a privet school in the south, with the goal of finding promising Aenon to sponsor. The trip had been quite tiring with little success and all she really wanted at this point was to get home and have a decent bath.
Up the road, she could see that they were approaching a small group of individuals huddled around in discussion. As they got a little closer one of the girls slowly distanced herself from the rest before retreating into the tree line. This caught Sarris’s attention. So squinted trying to get a better view of the girl. The girl reached down to the ground, placing her other hand on her temple. She stayed in this position before for a few seconds before jumping to her feet and sprinting off into the forest, and out of Sarris’s sight.
“Stop the carriage” she ordered the driver. He quickly obliged. This action was oddly similar to the behavior of those marked Railans. It unsettled her. “See what's going on,” she told one of her guards.
“Of course countess,” he responded back as he walked over to the group who was looking confused at the spot the girl had disappeared into the woods. They quietly spoke for a minute before he turned and walked back to the carriage. “Apparently a farm girl went missing this morning, my lady.”
“I see, we'll wait for another minute” she waved the guard back to his post. About 10 minutes passed before the two girls reappeared the one carrying a small child. Sarris waved the guard back.
“Yes countess,” he said.
“Find out who those two girls are” she instructed him. “Let's continue on,” she directed the driver”
Sarris adjusted her hairpins in the mirror. She sighed and walked out of her room and down the long corridor. It was her first day home so of course, they were having a small celebration for her safe return. Or at least that was their excuse to get overly intoxicated. She couldn’t say she was excited about it. But she walked down the hall to meet with her not-so-loving husband.
She entered the dining hall. Her husband, Nordskov was sitting at the head of the table laughing at whatever was said by the group of men surrounding him. She crossed the room, taking her seat next to him at the table. The men continued on with their conversation, not acknowledging her presence.
Her son Tobias entered the hall not long after her. He walked over taking the seat across from her. He gave her a small smile “welcome home.”
“Thank you, love,” she said back to him.
“Did anything interesting happen on your trip?” he inquired.
“At the academy, no. But that was expected.” she said, “but actually I see something quite interesting on my way home.”
“Go on,” he said.
“Well, I think I saw a Railan sparrow,” she replied. This statement must have caught Nordskov attention because he stopped talking mid-sentence and glared at her.
“Repeat that,” he barked “you couldn’t have said you saw a sparrow this far north.”
“Yes dear, that's what I said,” she said in a small voice. He glared at her.
“That's impossible,” he said almost like he was addressing himself more than her. “how could a sparrow have gotten into my territory, that's observed.”
“I don’t believe I could have been mistaken” she replied. “I sent a guard to inquire about the girl. Apparently, she's a farm girl who lives near býr.”
“She lives here” she snarled.
“That's what I was told,” she answered.
“I want her head,” he declared.
“Well, we shouldn’t just kill her straight off,” Tobias chimed in.
“Ow and whys that?” Nordskov asked.
“Well for one thing we don’t know for certain is she is a sparrow. He said. “And besides I've never seen one. I’m curious as to what one looks like and what they can actually do.”
“Well, I suppose we can try to bring her in alive” Nordskov grumbled.

The first chapter of a book that I started and will probably never actually finish.
Lanora
Chapter 1: Rain
She stared out of the frozen kitchen window. It was a gloomy day at the beginning of winter and the inevitable snow was just beginning to fall. She knew it was unlikely they would see the ground again in any near future.
She shook her head returning to scrubbing the breakfast dishes, just as a crash sounded in the next room. She dropped the dish in her hand as the hot water slashed against the front of her dress. She tensed her brows as she spun around, listening to the uproaring argument in the next room.
she shouted over them, “What in the world are you doing in there?” her little brother, Luca darted out of the room, with Catrina quickly behind him.
“Catrina through her boot and knocked over the mirror”
“That's not what happened!” she protested as the argument again accelerated into incoherent yelling. Rain rubbed her temple, the throbbing of her head increasing by the second.
“Would you both just shut up” she snapped. They paused to see the anger present on her face. “Can you both go and..” she began to order as the front door flew open. Clove, whose husband ran the neighboring farm, stood frantic in the doorway.
“Have you seen my Lilly? please tell me you've seen her” she spoke quickly, stuttering over her words. Rain looked to her siblings who stood just as confused as her then back to Clove.
“I'm sorry she hasn’t been here,” these words only seemed to increase her worries. she slid down the doorway shaking from nervousness.
“I haven’t seen her all morning,” she exclaimed. “I don’t know where she could have gone, We've looked for her everywhere I was praying she wandered over here.” her fear was immense. It was clear that she had in fact been looking for her daughter for quite a while from the way she shivered in her soaked clothes. Rain looked to her younger siblings who both stood looking concerned, seemingly having forgotten about the argument that had just insured.
She sighed with the state clove was in she doubted that she would be able to keep searching for the girl alone.“we’ll have to go over to the Brandy farm, and if she's not there we’ll have to go into town to get some people to search the woods before the snow piles up anymore.”
Clove’s head shot up “Ow thank you so much.” Catina walked over to her and helped her to her feet, before leading her over to the kitchen chair.
She turned and walked back down the hall into the bedroom to grab a spare dress for clover so that she would be able to change out of her soaked clothes before she caught a cold. When she walked back out Catina was already throwing on her winter boots while Luca was handing Clove a steaming cup to drink from. She walked over and laid the dress down on the table next to her. “Luca, could you stay here and keep an eye on her? she isn’t in any shape to be going back out right now.”
“Uh I guess” he replied looking over to catrina getting ready to leave clearly wanting to go out instead of babysitting the neighbor. Rain turned, choosing not to acknowledge this observation. She quickly threw on her boots and coat and she and catrina were out the door.
Rain looked up at the falling snow. “Let's get to the Brandy’s as fast as possible. I don't want to be out here all day.”
“You know I could just…”
“Absolutely not”
“But no one around and it would save so much time we could just say we found her on our way”
“Are you crazy there's always someone around. The more careless you are the more likely you are to get yourself caught.”
“Would you stop being so paranoid we’re in the middle of nowhere. The only people who come out here are a few of us who live here, or the ones who get extremely lost. there aren’t any houses for a mile”
“Exactly people get lost. Hunters travel out a little farther than they would usually. Neighbors take little trips. There's always someone around, especially with our luck”
Catrina rolled her eyes walking ahead of her, ”fine have it your way we’ll be out here till dust.”
They continued their walk in silence. The brandy farm was much larger than their own. With their spacious two-story home making their own look like nothing more than a shack. The eldest of the boys who was about a year or so older than she greeted them at the door. She began explaining the situation to him “the Erling’s girl went missing this morning. We were hoping we could get some people to help look for her.”
He tapped his fingers on the door frame before turning “I'll get the old man.” they paused for a second before stepping through the doorway behind him taking the open door as an invitation inside. Catrina pulled the door shut behind them. They stood there in the entryway in silence, not quite knowing what to do. What felt like a few minutes passed before they heard yelling from the other room and then heavy footsteps heading in their direction. Mr. Brandy stood towering in the archway that separated the entryway from the living space.
He looked down at them “So what's the situation?” Rain takes a breath before explaining everything to him. The next series of events went by surprisingly quickly. After she was done with her explanation he simply turned and yelled to his boys and before she knew it they were separating into groups. She and Catrina stayed together while Mr.Brandy and his boys split into 3 groups.
The next thing she knew they were stomping through the frost-covered forest floor. Catrina stayed a few steps back clearly sulking about being told no earlier. They continued on like this for the next few hours. Before Catrina finally spoke up “ya know…”
“If you're going to say what I think you're going to do, don't bother I'm not changing my mind on this subject” she shot back.
“Gods I can’t believe you. All I'm trying to do is help. What do you have against that?”
“I said all I have to say on the subject earlier so just drop it”
“Fine then. we're supposed to meet up with the others at mid-day we should head that direction”. She stomped past Rain in the direction of the main road.
They meet up with the others along the road leading north to the nearest town. They weren't the only ones who had turned up empty-handed. Catrina made a point to stay as far as possible away from her as she could. It was clear the others were tired and that they wanted to be done with this as soon as possible. And she had to admit she was tired herself. She leaned against the side of a tree and rubbed her brow. She could hear the rumbling of an approaching carriage in the distance. Out of the corner of her eye, she could see Catrina walking into the tree line. Rain pushed herself off the tree and began heading over to her having a bad feeling about where this is going to lead. But before she could reach Catrina she was crouched down with one hand on the ground and the other one on her temple.
It took everything in Rain not to yell out at her but she knew it would only draw attention if she were to. Then Catrina shot up and ran across the road and Rain was quick behind her knowing that the others were standing there in confusion.
