My boxing review on the Supernatural workout on the Oculus quest 2
I LOVE ITTT! I never thought of the type to ever get into boxing but as my fitness journey goes on I’ve been wanting to do more with my fitness, see how stronger I can make myself and see how my body can MOVE. And I’m finding a lot about myself to through this journey.
One of the things I did start getting interested in was boxing, but I did not want to go to the gym and do that but I also wanted someone to train me in boxing because I didn’t know anything about it AND I’m still learning about it. So I was sort of wishing that the Supernatural fitness workout that I use at home on VR would add boxing. Around October of this year they made an announcement that boxing will be added and I WAS PUMPED and so excited to try, my first session, I fell in love! There was a lot I still needed to work on like my form and stances, which I made it my goal to focus on my form rather than my speed and power first.
Over the next few weeks my balance was getting better so it was making it easier for me to stay in the ordedox stance and south paw stand so much easier, where I no longer felt like I was going to tip over. After I got my form down, my speed and power came naturally after that :)
I have noticed that it has helped with the “flow” workouts in the app too like I’m doing them better and hitting them with more power. When I started boxing there were muscles I didn’t know could still be sore lol!
Overall Im very happy that Im able to experience what boxing feels like and I love it so much.

Nutrition matters!
As most people know, Nutrition is an important part of any weight loss journey. REMEMBER losing weight doesn’t come fast or over night, it’s a comment you will need to take on and sooner or later you will see the progress of all your HARD WORK.
Some quick tips, when talking about nutrition, you DO NOT need to starve yourself to lose weight. You will beed good amounts of sleep (which I know sometimes its hard to) Try to reduce your alcohol intake too.
LETS TALK ABOUT FOOD
PROTEIN!!! It’s the most important one for weightloss. You don’t need to add or add more meat to your diet to get protein. You can add, green peas, legumes, nuts, milk, cottage cheese.
FIBRE!!! They fill you up quick, SO THAT MEANS less consuming of food. But remember don’t take too much, it can result in bloating.
FATS!!! Sounds scary I know, because we’re trying to lose fat though, but there are good fats that help with weight-loss. For example, Olive oil, avocado (MY FAV), nut butters and more.
4. CARBS! Ill be honest during the beginning of my weight-loss journey I was AVIOD carbs because I always though they were bad because of what other people were saying, should have researched myself but oh well, now I know better. When you cut out carbs, you actually can become irritable and increase craving which leads to eating more.
One more thing, PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE portion control. We shouldn’t have to cut out all the food we love! I know I can’t. I love Chinese food, fried foods, pizza and etc. So If you want ti keep eating your favorites things use portion control.

How to have a better workout routine
As of late, I’m really believing that for me, my self care has helped a lot with my workout routines. Meaning taking care of me, mentally and physically and even when I’m working out. Making small changes with my routines and not sticking to the same routine over and over again, makes a huge difference and keeping me motivated. And because of this, my workouts have been better, my endurance and stamina too.
I make sure the music I listen to, are music that makes me feel GOOD. It seems so simple but I think music is so important and what kind you listen to, it shapes your mood and etc. That's why I love the Supernatural VR workout the music they use for the workouts make me feel bad ass and there are so many to choose from.
ADD SOME WEIGHTS into your routine. Girl/boy let me tell you, my body looks so good after adding weights into my workout routine. Im seeing definitions in areas on my body I have not seen and I am happy with it. If you are a first time beginner for using weights, starting off doing body weight exercises would be the best place to start (53 Bodyweight Exercises You Can Do at Home).
DRINK WATER! You body is made of water, so we need water to keep us going. Make sure you drink water especially before a workout to keep you hydrated and you will def feel more energy.
Getting a good night sleep also helps too, how are you going to keep up with your workouts if you are tired all the time? Hmm?
What I did to get myself to where I am now with my workout routine, was working out for at least 20 mins a day, I started walking and running first, then running only when it got easier. As im going along my workout journey, I also got some home equipment. I went on my own pace and I think that's what made it easier for me and helped me stay committed to my workout routines. and going LONGER. Now I can workout for more than and hour at a time.

Wrist weights and ankle weights
Why did I not find these sooner!? I am in love lol. Ive been trying to add more workouts into my routine thinking I need to go longer for me to the same results because I was sweating less and it was getting easier for me. So I'm thinking how can I make it harder for me, to make my self even more stronger? I did some research, I did not want to go to the gym, because I am still nervous about going back to the gym since covid and I feel like they won't keep up with cleaning such because I watch people at the gym not wipe down the equipments afters using it, so I still don't trust people to do that. So I started strength training and that was giving me more. But then after a while I wanted more so I started adding little weights I can use at home. I got my a 15 lb dumb bell, wrist weights that are 2lbs and Ankle weights that are 5lbs which also can be used as wrist weight but I won't use those until after im use to the 2 lbs one.
I have used them for two weeks now for my sessions and when I finish I be DRIPPPPPING!! I use them mostly for my Oculus: Supernatual workouts too and I'm loving them. I also use the ankle weights when I do abs or leg workouts.
If you feel like you need to add more to your workouts some weights to your workout!

Oculus: Supernatural VR workout game review
This VR workout definitely gets your heart pumping and having you sweating from head to toe! and I love it! So here's my review about it.
So I first started the supernatural VR workout game on Jan 2021 and now it's May. After months of working out to it I think I can say that it has been one of the best workout experiences I have ever had. It is so much fun and I don't even feel like I'm working out sometimes.
I have tried other workout apps on the Oculus like beat saber, firXR box and dancing, and VZfit to name a few and they haven't given me the same experience and excitement as the Supernatural workout game does.
So what does it feel like to play?
Well AMAZING! the visuals are amazing. You can be working out on a beach, volcano, mountains and so much more! It's honestly breathe taking. There are even ones that look like you're on a different plant! I feel like it makes you feel excited to workout and super motivated. I also feel like a whole different person. I feel like I have way more energy, way less tired then I was before using supernatural. I also feel like it has also made me more focused and more alert. I also feel like it has helped me remember things easier.
I am a RBT working with kids with autism and I am pursing my BCBA license so right now im getting my supervision. With supervision we go over the task list on things I need to learn and remember for the exam. Before working out with the game, I had a hard time keeping information about certain terms and etc, I would have to intensify study just to remember them. But during my supervision i'm noticing that i'm able to answer questions accurately and quickly now and I think it has to do with supernatural, like in some way it reshaped my brain and made it stronger.
I also feel better emotional and physically. And for someone who didn't really enjoy working out, supernatural has helped me gained a new love for getting fit.
The set up
When first getting the game, they do give you a free trail to test it out which I like about the app, not a lot of other apps do that. After your trial is done you have the option to pay for it which I will tell you now it SO worth it. AND you can have 4 profiles under one subscription.
is it for $19 a month, which I think isn't bad. But that is up to you if you would like to continue with it.
So after you have set up a profile, you will have a bunch of playlists you can choose from, ranging for low intensity to high intensity. They also have workouts that are short and some that go longer. They have different genres of music, oh the music for the workouts are amazing!
and the coaches! They are super motivating, I think they also help a lot with keeping you focused during your workouts. It's like they are there with you.
So if you are interested check there out there website here : Supernatural

The reason why you are always bloated...
Don't we all hate getting bloated but that part of our daily lives right, but how can we eliminate most of the bloating. Here are some of the way you can get rid of bloating!
DRINK WATER!!! that the most important thing. It’s really just that simple. And EASY. But it works! If we don’t drink enough water then our bodies will try to hold on to the water it does have, which leads to bloating!
Some tips to help you drink enough water
Get an app that reminds you to drink water (Hydro coach, WaterMinder or water drink reminder are some great apps to use)
Carry a water bottle
Put a reminder on your phone
Another reason why you are experiencing bloating could have something to do with your nutrition, it may be off. Some food can be a factor to your bloating. Some of the most common foods that cause it are
Wheat
Dairy
Salt
I stopped drinking dairy and trying to stop having cheese (cheese is so good lol). I don’t know about, I personally don’t think you should cut salt out a lot but have less of it. Eating more veggies or have more plant based diets to your diet can help also.
Or MAYBE you aren’t getting enough fiber into your diet. I USE TO HAVE SUCH BAD constipation, until my doctor told me FIBER. You can bump up your fiber intake with vitamins too.
Do you eat fast? Yeah let me tell you, because that’s another way of getting unwanted bloating. Because we are eating so fast we are not giving our bodies enough time to signals when we are full. You can also be inhaling air to when eating too fast which can contribute to bloating.
If none of these are it, then it could be that you are not moving around to much, EXERCISE, even if its just a walk.
BUT if none of these help them you may have a health condition that’s causing you to bloat.
IBS or an inflammatory bowel disease
Crohn’s disease
Hormonal flux
giardiasis (intestinal parasite infection)
Eating disorders
Even some medications can cause bloating and mental health factors like depression or anxiety. So maybe talking to your doctor might be your best bet if nothing works. But try some of these ideas out and see what works for you.

Can exercising become too much?
Of course working out and staying in shape is one of the best things you can do for yourself. Did you know that over exercising can actually make your less healthy over time? Having rest days is very important, if you feel like you need to do something during rest days, consider yoga or stretching workouts.
Now there is a difference between over exercising and then burnout. Burnout is normal for some people, I experience it sometimes, when I’m burned out it would take about one 1 week to 2 weeks before I get my motivation again and started working out. I find out that if I keep up with rest days during my weeks i’ll burn out less. So we don’t need to be working out 7 days a week. 3 to 5 days is fine.
Over exercising is a serious thing, according to Dr. David A. Greuner, cellular damage occurs when you exercise your body. So when training we are pushing our comfort zone and adapting our bodies to become stronger, but that also leads us to feeling sore, so we need time to rest for our muscles to rebuild them the way they need to be.
Listen to what your body is telling you, Some of us have a mind set where we over commit to something sometimes. Just have to remember is not a race, and relax.
So what are some of the signs that make it overexercising?
Thinking about exercising every min of the day
Feelings bad when you aren’t able to exercise
Exercising when your doctor told you not to.
Exercising when sick

Consistency is Key
If you are starting to get into fitness or you have been doing fitness for so long, staying on top of your workout routine and keeping what you eat in moderations is what will make you fitness and wellness journey successful. Don’t worry about how much you can do in one workout session, start off small so you can build up and be able to adapt to your workout routine with ease and overtime you will be able to keep at it. Trying to do anything to drastic or fast will risk you going back into old habits or eating to much or losing motivation to workout. Be patient with yourself too.

Dealing with Stress
The past few months have been undeniably stressful for a lot of people around the world. Dealing with no working, the pandemic, knowing if you still have a job, or even lost a job and many more that can trigger stress. I know the feeling, the first few months during the pandemic have I never felt more stressed and depressed in my entire life and I did not know if I was ever coming out of it. But it is possible!
Stressors during difficult times can include both personal and economical challenges.
Here are some healthy ways you can deal with stress:
Take care of yourself - eat healthy, having a good balanced meal will so much good. Avoid foods that leave you sluggish and tired. Go for a run or a walk, I would recommend going outside, getting fresh air, being under the sun and surrounded by nature does help, especially for me. I love nature so I love being outdoors and doing any kind of out door activity.
Connect with others, family and friends. I think it is super important to keep in touch with other, technology is a great way to keep in touch during hard times like this during the pandemic. Not being able to connect to others makes me feel lonely and having does feelings aren't great.
Recognize when you need help and do not feel ashamed for needing help or don't feel bad for talking about how you feel. Make sure you talk to someone who is willing to listen to you and not judge it. It really does help. When trying to figure out things on your own or dealing with things on your own can be hard.
What are some ways you cope with stress?

How much do I need to walk to lose weight?
Walking is one of the great activities to start getting active. When you commit to a walking program and pair it with good nutrition you can absolutely lose weight. Some people do not think walking is a great effective way to lose weight, I know because I use to think this way. You just need to pay attention to how much you are walking and paying attention to your diet.
How long should I walk?
If you want to aim for goods overall health, then walking a minimum of 30 minutes at a good pace per day or 150 mins per week. But if you really want to lose weight I would go a bit more. ACSM recommends that you want 1 hour for 4 to 5 days a week. And you can go longer!
Walking vs. Running
Walking gives the same health benefits as running. But if you choose to go walking instead of running then duration is KEY to achieving your weight loss goals. Running does seem to be more ideal for getting into to lose weight. But if you are willing to walk longer to make up the difference. So if you choose to do walking, make sure you going for a good amount of time, keeping at a good pace and paying attention to what you are eating!

60 Day Challenge
Starting in march I made a commit to myself to stay on my fitness goals because I started to notice I was falling off. I have been going on and off with my fitness for years and I finally have been able to find the motivation that I need to work on myself and reach my fitness goals. I thought before I was doing well with my fitness but I was no where near it. I would go about a month and a half working out, 2 days a week and after my motivation will go down and Ill stop working out until something gets me motivated again which would happen like months later. I wanted to become more consistent with my workouts and my fitness. So I made the choice in march to start a 30 days challenge.
The first two weeks was hard because I did not think I would keep it up. But after about two week or so it was starting to get easier and I really wanted it this time. So I kept pushing myself even when I did not want to and also with the help with my boyfriend. I used to have the mind set also that if it was raining outside, looked cloudy and gloomily and snowed that it was not a good day to run. I HAD to change my mind set on that and I also found out I prefer to run in the rain then in the sun. I finally reached the end of my 30 days challenge and I felt AMAZING and I did not want to stop.
So I made my challenge longer to go for 60 days. I am noticing such a nice changed with my body and my physical health and strength. I was getting better, getting faster and stronger.
Today I have reach my end of my 60 day challenge! But I am not ending it here! Now I am making my challenge longer to 90 days! Wish me LUCK!

Music
Finding the right music can makes a big difference while running or working out to. I know when I have a good beat and catchy song I definitely do better while running. Helps keep my mind off the burn I feel in my legs by helping me stay focused on the run itself

How to breathe while running For Beginners
One of the mistakes newly runners do is trying to run as quick as possible by trying to have a fast pace. But then finding themselves being out of breathe a lot quicker. But then it also has to do with the fact that it can be to the lack on knowing how to breathe properly while running.
When you learn how to breathe properly while running, you find that you are able to run longer. While running you should engage in diaphragmatic breathing or "deep belly breathing". Deep belly breathing helps you use the entire capacity of your lungs, so oxygen stays in your lung longer.
While running breathe through both your mouth and nose, you aren't getting the most oxygen when you are only breathing through your nose. Over time you will get so use to breathing properly while running it will become like second nature to you!
