I started this blog as a lifestyle blog to document different fitness endeavors, and both healthy (and not so healthy) recipes. While I try to maintain a healthy lifestyle, I do love to indulge my sweet tooth....

This Time Foundation
Over the weekend I participated in a fundraising event for Nepal- a 2 mile beach run in Santa Monica. Josh Duhamel hosted the run/walk and many of the Real Housewives were also in attendance (I don’t remember their names).
Nepal is near and dear to my family considering my grandfather, pictured above, has climbed Mount Everest 8 times and even recently had a peak in the Himalayas named after him by the Government of Nepal- His mountain is named Burke-Khang.
After the short run we celebrated at the Ivy at the Shore restaurant in Santa Monica and it was delicious and well deserved :)

BBG Week 8
Just finished BBG Week 8 legs & cardio! It was SO hard... I was barely able to finish one round of each circuit. There were lots of jump squats/jump lunges which kill me. I took a little 2 week BBG hiatus because I was traveling for work and felt lazy so I just stuck with cardio- BAD IDEA! My heart rate got up to 190 which is SUPER high for me.
Side Note- I always use the TRX at my gym for jump lunges and jump squats... It really helps with my balance and form- you guys should try!

30-Day Ab Program
I love trying out different fitness programs, classes, eating plans, etc. I am following the BBG guides and just purchased this 30-Day Ab program after finding Alexa Jean Brown on Instagram. I love how short these exercises are and they are SO easy to do at home. I also love the BBG guides but some of the days require a gym in order to obtain optimal results (Bosu Burpees, Kettlebells, benches, etc.). This ab program can be completed 100% from home in less than 15 minutes. I love getting in my cardio but usually neglect my abs so I am hoping to see some results from this program.

Gracias Madre
On Wednesday night I went to the most amazing vegan Mexican Restaurant in Hollywood. Not only was the food amazing, but the drinks we ordered were Snow Cone Margaritas! AKA cutest, most delicious, drinks ever.
I ordered Tacos for my entree which consisted of three corn tortillas topped with seared cauliflower, grilled calabaza verde, and mushrooms. Drizzled with cashew crema, and served with beans… My friend got the flautas de camote which were filled with sweet potatoes and caramelized onions, and topped with pico de gallo, guacamole, cashew nacho cheese, cilantro, and served with a side of black beans.
I cannot wait to go back to this haven of deliciousness.

Healthy Blueberry Pancakes!
…Well healthy for pancake standards ;)
I adapted this recipe from Ambitious Kitchen.
INGREDIENTS
1 cup whole wheat flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
2 teaspoon cinnamon
¼ teaspoon baking soda
1 cup nonfat plain Greek yogurt (I used Fage 0%)
1 tablespoon Truvia
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract (for pancakes)
4 egg whites
3 tablespoons unsweetened vanilla almond milk
1 cup blueberries
INSTRUCTIONS
In large bowl whisk together flour, cinnamon, baking powder, and baking soda.
In a separate medium bowl, beat Greek yogurt, egg whites, Truvia, vanilla, and almond milk until smooth.
Add wet ingredients to flour mixture and mix thoroughly.
Fold in berries with a wooden spoon.
Coat a large nonstick skillet with cooking spray and place over medium heat. Drop batter by 1/3 cup onto skillet.
This recipe made about 6 pancakes, making each pancake approximately 135 calories.
I ate mine with lite maple syrup and put a small scoop of Arctic Freeze Vanilla Maple Ice cream on top (my sweet tooth is out of control). This ice cream is only 150 calories for the entire pint and complimented the flavors of the pancakes… Although it also made it more of a dessert :)
Next time I want to try to make this recipe with an extra ripe banana and oats instead of the flour to make it a little more healthy. Stay tuned….

Lucky Charm Rice Crispies
I tried another Pinterest recipe over the weekend… We always have lucky charms at the house so I thought I would make a treat out of them! They are SO easy to make and only take about 10 minutes. I pinned this recipe from the blog,Fab Bites.
Ingredients
1 box of Lucky Charms, separated
16 oz bag Jet Puffed Marshmallows
3 tablespoons butter
Cooking Spray (I used Pam)
Instructions
Take 6 C of Lucky Charms and set aside
Remove the marshmallows from the rest of the bag
Spray the pan with your cooking spray
Melt butter in large pot over medium-low heat
Add marshmallows, stirring constantly until well combined
Remove from heat and add the cereal
Mix until combined
Pour the mixture into your prepared pan
Top with the extra marshmallows!
