Tumblr has been acting out lately for me so apologies for this late response lol.

Mori is an incredibly underrated character and I am not surprised at all to hear you ended up drawn to him; I do really appreciate how reliable and logical be is as the leader of the Port Mafia — it is one of the things I like most related to him actually; his devotion and sense of obligation towards it.

I think that if you choose to read BSD's spin off; BEAST that focuses on a alternative universe in which Atsushi and Akutagawa switch roles; your appreciation for him as a character will definitely increase further and you will be happy to see somewhat of a good ending for him on it. :)

As for Fukuzawa and Mori being raised together; yes. They were both brought together by another underrated character in my opinion and I love to see the contrast between their mindsets and beliefs in all of their interactions; they are probably one of my favourite duos on the series.

And for our tests; yes I do agree - and I would like to mention; it perfectly demonstrates what I mentioned in one of our previous conversations: how we are drawn to people who are similar in some aspects to us and how it is human behavior.

For the unhealthy INFJ Fyodor comment — I completely agree with your assessment of him. I see him as an unhealthy INFJ rather than an INTJ as most of the fandom does..I actually am planning on making a little list of what I would type BSD characters.

Here we are.

I was waiting for the opportunity to respond to our last exchanges (1) (2) in the same post and to be far enough into the anime to have a clear opinion on my position. So, my favorite BSD character so far.

Bungou Stray Dogs spoilers until season 4:

— Ougai Mori.

At first, he seemed weak and ignorant in his doctor outfit, searching for his little girl on the streets. However, even if you didn't recognize his voice from his initial interaction with Higuchi, it was clear that this character would play an important role in the plot.

It's his first interaction with Atsushi that left a huge impression on me. I really love characters who appear vulnerable but aren't at all. This seemingly insignificant behavior often conceals a powerful character who knows far more than they let on.

What I like about Ougai Mori is that he's a leader with a profoundly personal moral code. He's wise but also merciless. He peacefully gazes at the view from the top of his tower, yet he can order his men to provoke a massacre below. I shared the scene where Chuuya finally joins the Port Mafia after hearing Ougai's explanation of what it means to be a leader. It reflects the harsh reality of leadership: sacrifice and devotion.

In this sense, it connects with one of the reasons why I like Blue Lock: it's a story about characters willing to abandon their closest allies when they are no longer useful, all in the name of moving forward and protecting what they believe is right.

I also want to share this scene:

Although Fukuzawa and Ougai were raised by the same man, they have completely different approaches to managing their respective organizations. It's not a simple dichotomy. It's nuanced: each fights for their own interests, their family, and, on a larger scale, the city they love. Yet, in the end, one cannot exist without the other. They embody a balance in Yokohama that reminds me of the interplay between day and night. Heaven and hell. Life and death.

Regarding the BSD kin assignment test, it's clear that our results often reflect our favorite characters. It also highlights how we tend to identify with and grow attached to characters who share similarities with us.

In my case, I appreciate all the characters I got for one reason or another:

Ougai Mori → Leadership, wisdom, the ability to make harsh decisions for the greater good, and a knack for concealing his true intentions.

Kunikida Doppo → Loyalty, a strong desire to protect, very firm personal values, knowledgeable, tough on the outside but soft inside.

Francis Fitzgerald → A love of luxury, exuberance, delusions of grandeur, and ultimately learning to develop a personal ethic.

Osamu Dazai → Speaks in riddles, knows far more than he appears to, loves to challenge and tease others, yet remains reliable.

Chuuya Nakahara → Big anger issues, a short temper, loud, and a gifted child.

As for your resemblance to Fyodor, he seems to embody the epitome of an extremely unhealthy INFJ. I'll elaborate on this topic in a dedicated post. But this Fyodor reminds me a lot of Geto in Jujutsu Kaisen. Wanting to eliminate an entire population for a noble cause.

All this to say that Ougai is my favorite character so far lol. His voice suits him perfectly, emanating years of experience while still being capable of playful interactions with others.

No problem! :) I do think it looks lovely though; you did an incredible job planning it out and implementing it.

Yes; we can clearly see the changes the art style in BSD took over the years as Harukawa-sensei's art style grew better and better over the years - their art style and attention to detail is frankly incredible and pleasant to see.

As for both of them; they both seem like very solid characters and you are correct on saying I probably would enjoy Rin; in fact I believe I would like both of them. I am curious to see which BLLK boy turns out to be my favourite. 🤍

Hmmm. I did have characters I enjoyed in the show before Fyodor — though none quite as much as my darling husband.

But the answer unsurprisingly perhaps or not is going to be...Sakaguchi Ango and Doppo Kunikida.

I tend to be drawn to characters who often are calm; composed and intellectual; so I liked Ango from the time he was introduced. He is someone who I wish would get a break and find some happiness in his life; I also loved his tragic relationship with both Dazai and Odasaku and over all — he is a character I still like a lot.

While I tend to dislike loud characters; and especially ones that are as hot headed like Kunikida; I grew fond of him and of his characterization; and seeing how deeply much he cherishes the other members of the agency warms my heart still to this day,and so he forever remains one of my top ADA favourite right next to Ranpo.

Oh I fully understand you. I tend to be a victim to anything related to my favourite characters; I even started playing the mobile gacha game for BSD only because of my love for the franchise and Fyodor (in particular I want to build a army of Fyodors...my goal has yet to be completed but I have done great progress on it so far). And I also am looking forward to have my little mouse home to dote on, so I hope you will get your miniature kitten eventually. 🤍

As for my similarities with Fyodor...I would say I am similar but also different by multiple factors; excluding that I go around my goals in a much more healthier manner than him. But since you asked; here some of the main that come to mind go:

I would say I am someone who is rather strategic and goal oriented despite the stereotype related to my MBTI 😂. I am well known to be rather persistent and even somewhat stubborn when I want to make something come true — I am someone who does not give up easily when it is something I truly want; and I am also known to be rather meticulous when it comes to my plans and goals like him.

I am someone who is idealistic and somewhat of a romantic at heart with a deep love for humanity; I have a desire to make the world a better place and it is the reason why I ended up choosing psychology as my major.

I am somewhat reserved in my opinion; and I do value my personal time and space quite a lot; a lot of the people I know considered me rather intimidating at first because of how I behaved.

Formality and politeness. While I can be playful and casual every once in a while; I do try to be as polite as possible in all my interactions and I do value it deeply. I am also considered rather “aristocratic” and a bit intimidating in my behavior by my family and most of the people I know. 😂

I do have a deep love for art; history and culture much like him; not to mention my love for psychology and philosophy. These aspects were always something in me from the time I was a child.

A taste for refined and sophisticated things.

And lastly (my apologies if this is too much information) I am a rather sickly person like him, my health is rather fragile from the time I was born and my health needs constant monitoring.

Related to the Kaiser and Fyodor bit; that certainly would be interesting! I would be very down to reading that :) please tag me if you do and feel free to reach out if you'd like help.

As for Fyodor and me...I can confirm he absolutely drives me crazy in a positive way; I am not someone who tends to feel intense things; and I also tend to be rarely driven even slightly feral by characters; or pieces in media in general but BSD managed to get me in a chokehold; and with Fyodor — I will say I wanted to truly dislike him at first; knowing some of the things he does.

But the more and more I studied the inspirations behind his character and the more I analyzed and thought about him; the more intoxicating he felt for me; and the more I adored him and it does not help that Fyodor is the exact kind of character that I tend to end up enjoying and adoring (and not to mention I have some similar quirks to him) ; so I ended up drawn to him like a moth to a flame and barely had a fighting chance. lol

I am curious if this is how you feel about Kaiser as well?

(and I literally convinced my parents to order for me a Fyodor plushie and also a copy of crime and punishment. I never did that much for a character I liked. At most it was fanart but I never actually bought any merch until now.)

Oh I remember that when I went to check your blog once! I honestly understand why you did that; I would probably do the same knowing myself.. specially considering how beautifully drawn the scene looked. (that is the secondary reason; the main one that it is your dear Kaiser makes it an even more valid reason, appreciating your husband is always a good move on my book.)

I do fully understand why; i get deeply attached to characters very rarely — most of the time I simply like them; or I can appreciate how they were written and the attention to detail when it comes to how they were conceptualized amongst other things. As for merch and other goodies; I never was one that would buy merchandise either and just like you; all my madness was carefully stored and hidden away by myself in my brain and I never was someone who liked to spend money either even while I was a child so I never particularly minded not having any merch. That is; until Fyodor happened to me and now I am getting a plushie of him. lol

Yes, I do agree with you on that — it is an incredibly pleasant feeling; that feeling of being seen and understanding the character in such a deep level; not to mention - seeing them struggle and persevere can feel incredibly cathartic in a way. In my case; with Fyodor...we do share some traits in common; yes and I think this is part of the reason why I ended up understanding (to a certain level) and enjoying him as much as I have yet I would say there still are certain differences between him and me.

And to answer your question; I would like to say that no. I suppose I do not believe that it is narcissistic; it is a common and incredibly human thing - we are naturally drawn and become closer to those with which we share traits and values amongst other things with as it gives us a certain common ground and something to bond over so naturally; we tend to love and have a much deeper emotional connection with characters with similar personalities to us. It is just human behavior I suppose.

I do agree with how you feel; as I mentioned before in another one of our conversations — I do believe my dear Fedya and your husband would get along and perhaps even likely build a friendship.

He is someone who always appreciates intelligent and pleasant company after all; and not to mention — he does have a deep love for humanity so I can fully see them bonding over their shared love for that area; and I believe Fedya would be someone who enjoys a good debate as we see in his and Dazai's dynamic.

I noticed your bio yesterday, why did you have the same content "[ Fyodor's husband ] / ..." as another Fyodor's lover we both know? I ask purely out of curiosity. It made me giggle.

I decided to give up and lean into my friends' jokes that I am married to Fyodor and his house-...husband? I suppose. 😂

They are used to jokingly calling me his husband and I got into the habit of doing the same; so I got known by that in my friend group. And at this point I do not even mind; the power he has over me is far too great.
