(taps mic)
Fyodor sees himself as both above and below humanity; him stating that he “loves all of humanity” in the guidebook shows an incredible level of disconnect between him and his own humanity, and it highlights how he sees himself as something inherently inhuman; effectively a watcher and observer of life to him.
We see his detachment towards his own humanity in his relationships, on how sickly he is yet he refuses to allow his body to rest, we see how little he genuinely perceives himself as a human through that and more details.
spoilers for the last chapter
I think that; he feels a genuine disgust towards his own humanity, his own fragility and I think that the latest chapter proves my theory further — his disgust at Atsushi could be seen as a disgust towards his own humanity, at seeing a mirror of himself and his weakness that he has worked so well to hide.

Thanks for replying; Suo!
Tumblr has been acting out lately for me so apologies for this late response lol.
Mori is an incredibly underrated character and I am not surprised at all to hear you ended up drawn to him; I do really appreciate how reliable and logical be is as the leader of the Port Mafia — it is one of the things I like most related to him actually; his devotion and sense of obligation towards it.
I think that if you choose to read BSD's spin off; BEAST that focuses on a alternative universe in which Atsushi and Akutagawa switch roles; your appreciation for him as a character will definitely increase further and you will be happy to see somewhat of a good ending for him on it. :)
As for Fukuzawa and Mori being raised together; yes. They were both brought together by another underrated character in my opinion and I love to see the contrast between their mindsets and beliefs in all of their interactions; they are probably one of my favourite duos on the series.
And for our tests; yes I do agree - and I would like to mention; it perfectly demonstrates what I mentioned in one of our previous conversations: how we are drawn to people who are similar in some aspects to us and how it is human behavior.
For the unhealthy INFJ Fyodor comment — I completely agree with your assessment of him. I see him as an unhealthy INFJ rather than an INTJ as most of the fandom does..I actually am planning on making a little list of what I would type BSD characters.
Hey Suo!
Favourite BSD character so far?
(since anon is not on I have to use my main acc so. I hope you do not mind lol)
Here we are.
I was waiting for the opportunity to respond to our last exchanges (1) (2) in the same post and to be far enough into the anime to have a clear opinion on my position. So, my favorite BSD character so far.
Bungou Stray Dogs spoilers until season 4:

— Ougai Mori.
Tumblr media
At first, he seemed weak and ignorant in his doctor outfit, searching for his little girl on the streets. However, even if you didn't recognize his voice from his initial interaction with Higuchi, it was clear that this character would play an important role in the plot.
It's his first interaction with Atsushi that left a huge impression on me. I really love characters who appear vulnerable but aren't at all. This seemingly insignificant behavior often conceals a powerful character who knows far more than they let on.
What I like about Ougai Mori is that he's a leader with a profoundly personal moral code. He's wise but also merciless. He peacefully gazes at the view from the top of his tower, yet he can order his men to provoke a massacre below. I shared the scene where Chuuya finally joins the Port Mafia after hearing Ougai's explanation of what it means to be a leader. It reflects the harsh reality of leadership: sacrifice and devotion.
In this sense, it connects with one of the reasons why I like Blue Lock: it's a story about characters willing to abandon their closest allies when they are no longer useful, all in the name of moving forward and protecting what they believe is right.
I also want to share this scene:

Although Fukuzawa and Ougai were raised by the same man, they have completely different approaches to managing their respective organizations. It's not a simple dichotomy. It's nuanced: each fights for their own interests, their family, and, on a larger scale, the city they love. Yet, in the end, one cannot exist without the other. They embody a balance in Yokohama that reminds me of the interplay between day and night. Heaven and hell. Life and death.
Regarding the BSD kin assignment test, it's clear that our results often reflect our favorite characters. It also highlights how we tend to identify with and grow attached to characters who share similarities with us.
In my case, I appreciate all the characters I got for one reason or another:
Ougai Mori → Leadership, wisdom, the ability to make harsh decisions for the greater good, and a knack for concealing his true intentions.
Kunikida Doppo → Loyalty, a strong desire to protect, very firm personal values, knowledgeable, tough on the outside but soft inside.
Francis Fitzgerald → A love of luxury, exuberance, delusions of grandeur, and ultimately learning to develop a personal ethic.
Osamu Dazai → Speaks in riddles, knows far more than he appears to, loves to challenge and tease others, yet remains reliable.
Chuuya Nakahara → Big anger issues, a short temper, loud, and a gifted child.
As for your resemblance to Fyodor, he seems to embody the epitome of an extremely unhealthy INFJ. I'll elaborate on this topic in a dedicated post. But this Fyodor reminds me a lot of Geto in Jujutsu Kaisen. Wanting to eliminate an entire population for a noble cause.
All this to say that Ougai is my favorite character so far lol. His voice suits him perfectly, emanating years of experience while still being capable of playful interactions with others.

Something I think about often is Fyodor's humanity. In particular; how much he denies how human he is.
It really reminds me of crime and punishment 's Rodion Ralkoniskov and the minor theme in it of the pressure it takes to be above ordinary; the divide between “regular” people and those who are “superior”..

01. You have me; being worse than Ivan and Nikolai when it comes to Fyodor and you still are surprised? 😂
As for Kunikida - Yes! He is so impeccably well written that I just grew attached to him and his demeanor, he just breaks my heart the more I think about him.
02. Yes! I feel like me and Ango would be good friends haha
11. Exactly. 😉
12. Hmmm.. let me start with the biggest thing that bothers me: I do not like how Asagiri wrote Bram Stoker, especially considering the author and what he was trying to say and show with Dracula.
Yes, I love vampires and I do like him a decent amount but with what I know; I would not do what Asagiri did with him if I was in charge of BSD as a whole. Though I do understand that not a lot of the information we have as English speakers and as people who grew up with this culture is available to Asagiri so I can understand how it turned out like this.
I would probably also do something entirely different than what Asagiri is doing with Fyodor and his ability as well.
1, 2, 11, 12, 17, 20!
For the bsd ask game
01. Your favorite characters?
Cheese; darling you know me. 😂 Now let me begin by saying that I do not hate anyone in BSD - there simply are characters that took more of my attention.
Fyodor has me on the tightest chokehold possible so him being mentioned is unsurprising, I wrote paragraphs worth of my love for him.
Though out of the early characters, I do have a very deep soft spot for Kunikida, I do tend to dislike people who are loud but he surprisingly grew to be an exception due to how much I love how he was written and his dynamic with the other ADA members really warmed my heart.
A bit more surprising but — Ranpo and Fukuzawa are some of my absolute favorites and my comfort characters. They mean a lot to me and their relationship over all as well as someone who is autistic.
I could make a top 10 post eventually...
02. Which organization would you like to join?
I am not particularly sure if I have an opinion of which one I would fit in haha. Though realistically speaking; I feel like probably the Special Division for Unusual Powers perhaps.
11. What's your favorite story arc, episode or scene?
Being honest? One of my favorite anime episodes was the one where we see Fyodor in action for the first time — it really made an impact on me and had me on the edge of my seat.
12. If you would change one event; which one would it be?
Hmm. You mean rewrite or completely erase from the lore? Because it would depend. 😂 I have..some opinions that perhaps would be unpopular.
17. What got you into BSD?
I love literature and I love analyzing; so BSD was right up my alley and unsurprisingly, I fell in love with it.
20. Do you have any merch?
Mhm :) Fyodor merch; to be precise.

You see; the difference between real life Fyodor and BSD Fyodor is as stark as night and day; real life Fyodor was well known to be unpleasant; rude and over all just to put it bluntly; an incredibly self-centered and arrogant person; think of Fyodor Pavlovich from the Brothers Karamazov for an idea of what his personality was like on real life.
While I would say Fyodor in BSD is the complete opposite; he is well-mannered; composed; charming and intellectual with a certain superiority complex and arrogance to him; but this makes an incredible lot of sense when you consider that his main inspirations for his character were Rodion from crime and punishment with a bit of Ivan and the Devil from Brothers Karamazov.
In my opinion and based on things I have talked about with my friend; I firmly believe Fyodor's ideal type likely would be someone who defies and stimulates him intellectually; but in a way they would not be a threat to his goals (like Dazai is); his ideal partner would likely also be someone he could mold to a certain level into believing him and his ideals; I would also say they would need to be and have a certain cultured air around them; they would need to appreciate art; philosophy and history and he would probably dislike a partner who is loud and extroverted; as it would disturb his private and quiet inner world.
As for Kaiser and Fyodor; I do believe they would probably be friends based on everything you have told me and would likely get along well :) Kaiser seems like the kind of person Fyodor would find interesting and stimulating intellectually.
And really? As I love psychology (I am actually moving onto my 3rd year of studying in university for psychology); so it does seem like something that will deeply intrigue me and interest me. :) I am even more convinced I might enjoy it.
What do you like about Fyodor in BSD?
I would say I do like multiple things about him — his intelligence; his politeness;his gracefulness; his love for art and humanity; his charisma (to a certain level); I cannot deny he is a pretty guy as well and that is one of the multiple reasons but also how psychologically interesting he is was what truly captivated me.
I could go on and on about all the aspects I love about him and certain characteristics he has that make him my ideal partner to some level and are why I am so thoroughly hyperfixated on him but we would be here for hours. 😂
And a question for you; why do you like Kaiser so much?
