The Sweet Corner – Jasmine Milk Tea with Red Jelly/Hat Luu
(Location: San Jose, CA)
What a lovely drink. This jasmine milk tea hits all the points and really reminds me of Whatever Tea Lounge’s rendition of this drink, which I loved. It has a richly aromatic tea flavor and just a touch of sweetness at 75% sugar, and the quality that really makes this drink great is how creamy and smooth it is. Very solid drink, and The Sweet Corner is the only place I know of that serves the red jelly/hat luu topping you commonly find in che as a topping for milk tea. The seedy and chewy alternative boba is just so good, I wonder why more businesses don’t do it.

Some Images of beers local to Bay Area
The first image is the beer from Almanac Brewing Co., the second is the beer from Mavericks Brewing based in the Half Moon Bay, and the third is the beer from from Anchor Brewing based in San Francisco.  Beers from these three companies should be present during the Oktoberfest By The Bay 2015 event. SJSU Boba Festival Sample Reviews
(Location: San Jose State University, San Jose, CA)
Late post, but San Jose State University’s Alpha Kappa Psi recently did something totally awesome and organized the first ever boba festival in the Bay Area (and maybe anywhere?). I’m just going to give brief and real quick reviews of some of the drinks I sampled there. Gong Cha’s milk foam green tea is great, as usual, though the milk foam was a bit thicker than usual and not as sweet. Super Cue hit the bull’s eye with an assam milk tea that’s good and a peach oolong tea that’s subtly sharp and super refreshing. TFM’s Rose Garden is a bit sweet, along with Bar Code’s white peach tea. Soyful Dessert’s creamy milk tea tastes like vanilla ice cream in tea (not my thing, but my friend loved it), though its Hong Kong Style Milk Tea was complex. Lastly, my personal favorite was Teaspoon’s Grasshopper, which was a totally refreshing mix of cucumber juice and lychee green tea.

Three Seasons Restaurant
WEBSITE: http://www.threeseasonsrestaurant.com/
LOCATION: 518 Bryant St, Palo Alto, CA 94301
Located in Palo Alto, the restaurant specialized in Vietnamese and Asian-style cuisine.  I went there 8 weeks ago, before getting a job interview by Houzz (www.houzz.com), a very good home improvement referral website start-up based in Palo Alto.  In the Three Seasons, my favorite appetizer is the “Crispy Roll,” though it costs $11. I plan to go back there in May, to try their other dishes with friends.
The interior design is of French Colonial style, similar to the ones in 19th Century French Indochina.  The restaurant has an exotic foreign feel to it. Good place for dating and hang-out with friends.
Currently, I give the restaurant a 4 out of 5 stars!  Not only the food is good, their waiters and waitresses are very friendly and professional.  This restaurant is really worth your money and time :)

Hubert's Lemonade Tea
Of all the Lemonade drinks in the Bay Area and California, Hubert's Lemonade Tea is the best! Snapple is too sweet for me, and Hubert's Lemonade Tea is an excellent replacement.
On the second photo, got this drink from New Season Market (formerly New Leaf), at: 5667 Silver Creek Valley Rd, San Jose, CA 95138

Date Night @ Monster Pho (Oakland)
Monster Pho is now our go-to place for Vietnamese noodle soup in North Oakland. The dishes taste light and clean on the palate. If they use MSG, it might be minimal since I do not get the usual MSG-related headaches and thirsts.  The BF and I have been to Monster Pho twice already when either one of us was feeling under the weather. The venue is casual, clean and contemporary.
Everything we have tried were very tasty. (Except we will skip the fried dumplings next time.)  We have tried the:
     ♡ Monster Pho Combo
     ♡ Fresh shrimp spring rolls
♡ Rice plates with grilled beef and fried egg
     ♡ Fried dumplings
And the desserts are definitely fun and yummy!

Burrito Box: Vending machines in So Cal selling burritos that taste way better than Taco Bell!
WEBSITE: http://tastetheburritobox.com/
To start and operate a brick and mortar fast food restaurant is extremely expensive (start-up cost could exceed $500,000 [1]).  Even to start and operate a food truck is no small money (start-up cost could be $50,000 - $200,000 [2]). But if you own vending machines selling fast food, the start-up cost will be way cheaper.  Of course, many may think any food from vending machines must have compromised quality.  However, Burrito Box vending machines are none of that; these machines sell you high quality and delicious food that do not contain hormone or antibiotics.
Video on Burrito Box:
youtube
Below is an article from LA times, on Burrito Box [3]
It's like a Red Box, with burritos. You can choose from six varieties, including roasted potato with egg and cheese, uncured bacon with egg and cheese, chorizo sausage with egg and cheese, free-range chicken with beans and rice, and shredded beef and cheese. The website boasts the burritos are made with hormone- and antibiotic-free ingredients.
If you're imagining robotic arms inside layering your potatoes, cheese and eggs into a burrito, then rolling the entire thing up, think again. You can pick a burrito, but it's not exactly Chipotle. You can't customize it. But you can add a side of Daisy sour cream for 50 cents, Tabasco hot sauce for 65 cents or Wholly Guacamole for 75 cents.
Once you make your selection, you're taken to a screen that discloses all of the burrito ingredients and nutrition facts and you pay with a credit card. Then you wait.
The machine plays a music video or video ad for the 60 seconds it takes to heat up your burrito and grab your chosen side.
"Not a lot of people, but quite a few people use it," said Kasey Kashani, who has owned the station for 30 years. Kashani does not own the box, and explained it's not affiliated with the gas station. He just lets the company use the small space by the door.
When the burrito is ready, it's deposited at the bottom of the machine with your chosen sides. The potato, egg and cheese was hot and melty, but it needed hot sauce. The burritos are $3 plus tax.
According to the Burrito Box website, a second burrito kiosk is slated to pop up at a 76 station in Century City on Jan. 18.
