Okay this might be me overthinking things or tired rambling but I swear that the monsters Telemachus lists are intentional. Like, they’re describing Odysseus’ journey;

Of course we already know the first two;

Sirens- Ody fights them in Suffering & Different beasts

Cyclops- Polyphemus

Then these ones are a little less obvious but still;

Giants- Laestrygonians in Ruthlessness

Hydra- Scylla bc of the multiple heads

Then it gets a little tricker;

Harpies- Reference to original sirens? Like how they were bird women rather than fish women. Apparently they’re also messengers of the wind god (Aeolus) so they could also represent “Keep your friends close”

Chimeras- The monster Circe summons when dealing with Odysseus.

Minotaur- ?? I can’t figure out this one if there is any connection.

Cerberus- Guard dog of the underworld, so represents the underworld saga.
