Headcanon dump - Iggy

Age: 19

Birthday: April 21st

MBTI: INFP-T

Alignment: Chaotic Good

Backstory

He was the most "problematic" child, struggling with his autism and having explosive meltdowns. Where he was raised in they didn't really had a concept for how to deal with disabled children, causing miscommunication and tons of meltdowns

He was the most isolated, even more so than Ludwig, feeling better with animals than other kids or even teachers, prior to meeting Lemmy.

He developed his love for animals since practically day one, he loves getting bugs onto his hands, helping angry wigglers go back asleep, knowing exactly where to scratch piranha plants to make them purr. If there's any animal around, you can bet he will stick around it, even if it's just a spider on the wall.

During his first mission, he had taken in a violent lab chain chomp. Noticing the similarities between their situation and the anime he was watching, he dedided to name him after the dog in the show, Ein.

He learned engineering from Ludwig when he already got integrated into the clan, motivated to make toys for Ein. Unlike Ludwig however, this hobby stuck, and developed far further than Ludwig's, becoming the clan's inventor around the time Ludwig's role started to mature out of being an inventor into the clan leader.

Powers/Role in the clan

He most often works on the side, high pressure environments stress him out, especially on the field. He has a whole system set up which detects illegal spells, and automatically prints out the coordinates of the incident. Arguably he has the most important job in the clan, He's the one responsible for informing, alarming the clan, and also giving them various tools.

When he gets on the field however, his main job is breaking security, codes, etc. He's also called whenever animals are either the victims or obstacles, the clan respects them so they choose the expert to handle them.

His magic revolves around the fauna/flora casting, he can communicate with almost any creature, and helps with problems nature may cause.

His weakness is his fragility from being disabled. As powerful as he is, he has a sensory processing disorder, and has a certain time window where he can operate normally. If he doesn't get support and gets too exposed to the stress and noise, he lashes out with wild, uncontrollable magic, that may endanger the clan. Usually he gets paired up with Lemmy or Ludwig, to have someone watch out for any signs of a sensory overload.

He doesn't have a weapon of choice because he refuses to participate in combat, as a pacifist. He does have several self defense tools, other clan members that arent scared of getting their claws dirty, and Ein.

Relationships

He's the closest to Lemmy out of the clan. Being the first proper friend, their bond is similar to Morton/Roy, however it isn't as healthy. Iggy struggles with setting boundaries, and Lemmy has a bad habit of walking all over them, acting more like a helicopter parent than a concerned friend. Thankfully it has gotten better in the clan, with Iggy getting the reassurance that he's powerful and capable, which he desperately needed. He still loves Lemmy like his twin brother, he's just becoming his own person outside of their friendship. Despite the separation anxiety, the duo is striving to become stronger and healthier.

Roy and Morton are protective of him, knowing full well how being the "odd" one is like from a disability. Especially Morton. Their friendship is a proof that neither of them are really "bullies", they're just not scared of saying what's on their mind.

Ludwig is quite attached to Iggy, unaware that it's caused by the fact that he isn't neurotypical either. As the clan member that had inherited the "inventor" title from him, he's proud to see the heights of Iggy's inventions that had far surpassed his own. Iggy actually got tons of blueprints and tools from Ludwig, getting a head start into this hobby, a risk Ludwig took which had paid off.

Wendy isn't fond of Iggy, and tries to avoid him. Her analytic mind just can't handle chaos well, same goes for her with Lemmy. However if someone dares to insult him she's first to throw hands.

to Larry, Iggy is almost like an equal. Unfortunately, Iggy can't attend his Electrodome concerts, however Larry gives him special hearings of his songs, so he can enjoy it without the crowds.

Personality/Hobbies

Iggy is a huge geek. He loves DnD, anime, games, the whole nine yards. Many of his inventions are actually inspired by the anime or games he consumes

As stated before, he is a pacifist. He also is chaotic, but strictly refuses to do any violence. He cannot stand seeing others be hurt, especially animals.

The exception to his pacifism are animal abusers

He has a bad voice regulation, always speaking too loud or not loud enough

He enjoys infodumping about whatever new thing on his radar, or if he has no new thing to yap about, Ein.

Speaking of Ein, Iggy is a very doting pet owner, treating him almost like his own child. Despite his past, the chain chomp is well trained and cared for, it's almost impossible to tell that his origins came from a failed lab experiment.

Iggy's love language is penguin pebbling - Whenever he's in flea markets looking for spare parts for his projects, he also watches over for anything his siblings may want.

it's also the easiest way to befriend him, if you know what he needs and give it to him, even if it's just cardboard when he wants to make a miniature town - he'll remember and cherish it forever

Appearance

he's not the most fashionable koopaling, choosing comfort over looking "good". He's often seen wearing merch shirts but that's as far as "caring about fashion" gets.

He has a special permission to wear the royal badge on his tool bag instead of clothing, due to sensory issues

His hair is actually dyed, his natural colors are the same as Lemmy's. He's often compared to a pineapple or a carrot, but to him it's a cool potion exploding of his head

His glasses are well loved, probably damaged. He refuses to change them though, as they're his comfort object.

He's the tallest Koopaling, but he's not imposing looking. He isn't combative and is naturally thinner

He often gesticulates with his tail and hands, stimming. The first time Luigi saw that he was convinced he was trying to make fun of him being italian.

If something on his clothing needs tying, like shoelaces, it will almost never be tied. He doesn't have that bodily awareness whenever something comes loose, so other koopalings help him.

Koopa Radio AU - general information

Darklands used to be a faction of the Mushroom Kingdom region, back when Mushroom Kingdom was called Mushroomland, or Toadstooland if we want to be specific, along with Grassland, Desertland, Waterland, Giantland, Skyland, Iceland and Pipeland. However, one day the Darkland had gained autonomy (got estranged), setting up the most dangerous castle for koopas to occupy safely.

However, this doesn't mean that they can't live in the other parts of the region, just that the Darklands are the only best option. Despite their mixed reputation, they generally lived in peace. King Bowser Von Koopa wasn't buying that generous offer however, and decided to try to convince Princess Peach Toadstool to maybe not treat his castle and his kind as some sort of dangerous monsters.

He thought that it worked. Not just that - he thought that he was developing something more with the Toadstool princess, her working day and night to ensure the safety of the region, her kind heart, her sweet smile, it was all getting to him. And it seems to have gotten into her too.

However, a tragedy struck. Princess Peach got pregnant from their seemingly blooming relationship, and suddenly had cut ties. It was all a SHAM. She rejected him, disowned their child, and doubled down on the racist "safety measures", all of his hard work to initially soften down the tension, perhaps even develop something new and pure, free of prejudices, in ruin.

The two sides are now at odds with each other, stuck in a broken loop of King Bowser seeing how fake she was, getting heartbroken and angry, getting reckless, and Princess Peach using it as an excuse to label his kind as nothing more than monsters, intensifying "safety measures", breaking Bowser's heart again and angering him. Over. And over.

In amidst of such tensions, Bowser's beloved brother and scientist Mortimer Von Koopa Sr., or "Bruce", had disappeared, pronounced dead but it never quite clicked right for the King, already wary of his once-life partner.

Mortimer's children had been scattered amongst different foster care systems. Bowser didn't even knew he was an uncle, reasonably so - Bruce was aware of the tensions, so he ensured that his family was as private as possible. However, his magic proficiency and genius got inherited by them which had help Bowser uncover their identities, one by one.

First one was a young prodigy, whose mere presence made Bruce's wand react in the old magic store. A VERY talkative boy with unruly prussian blue hair and a misplaced fang that he was mocked for, unaware that his magic was so powerful to cause it

The next two were a pair of hooligans, causing a level 5 avalanche merely by goofing around in Pipeland. The accident had hurt the younger one, making him develop aphasia, however the duo got even closer. Their strength, both in magic and friendship knows no bounds, even if they may not know how to use it correctly.

The next one was actually a girl. By accident she had frozen the entire capital of Waterland, just wanting to create an ice mirror. She was rude and cold, tired of being overlooked, ensuring that her fashion and confidence stands out. Even she had no idea how much she was underestimating herself.

The next boy was known for being the "aggressive" one. He got discovered during a meltdown, that had burnt a quarter of Grassland forests..in the whole country.

His best friend had begged to join to ensure he's safe, and reluctantly the group had agreed, despite the mild annoyance of a civilian in the castle, the tall green haired boy felt his best with him present. The mere fact that in all of the castle safety measures, the short and might kid managed to sneak by without any magic, purely relying on wit and agility, made him count as a valuable asset. He had proven himself to stay, truly shining amongst others.

The last one had it the worst. He got sent all the way back to the now Mushroom Kingdom back when he was a toddler. To him that was his normal, and until King Bowser had discovered him, he was convinced he was just some sort of weird Yoshi that could talk. He accidentally had stopped time in his school, tapping to the rhythm of his phone radio, unaware he had any magic. In the new environment, he's striving to become more and more like who he truly is - a koopa, and a powerful one. He could work on his work ethic a little, though..

All seven of them had formed a clan, initially by the two hooligans and the bluehead. Initially, Roy was the one leading the group, but with age and puberty, the small yapper had matured into being a doer. Ludwig still has an "I'm better than you" attitude, but at least it's well deserved now..

In spite of the pains Bowser had witnessed and participated in, his newfound family is stronger than ever. His biggest fear was forcing Bowser Jr. to be raised alone, without a "mom", and it have had been answered in the form of the Koopaling clan, which he can't get thankful enough for. He loves all of his children, treating all eight of them as a blessing

Headcanon dump - Roy

Age: 20

Birthday: April 23rd

Backstory:

his infamous sunglasses are a hand me down from his late mother, he started wearing them when he got bullied for his heterochromia

He got inspired to get strong from watching several action films and wrestling

he's the most thug looking of the clan, Morton may be strong but he isn't quite as intimidating

He developed bullying as a method of coping with his insecurities - the "gay" shell, weird sunglasses from his mom, having alopecia. Nobody had listened to him when he was well behaved, so he learned that aggression would help

Personality:

He's street smart, but not so book smart or close the fridge or it will melt smart. He has good practical knowledge but he's not often listened to, leading up to many "i told you so bruh!"

He cares about the vulnerable, that was his main motivation in becoming the Roy we know today. He doesn't want the things that have happened to him to happen to others, though he may get too aggresive

He's the second most social koopaling, after Larry

He does a lot of things for the fun of it - but unlike Lemmy he respects boundaries

he's a natural party guy - his mere presence seems to manifest friends

he hates lying, and refuses to partake in missions that force him to forge friendships. But he's totally cool with killing!

He looves bullying others, poking fun at them, criticizing them, striving them to get better. His remarks may be unfiltered and hurtful, but he has your best intentions

Surprisingly he's very easy going, happy to do almost anything his siblings blab about. As long as he can show he's the best one, that's all that matters! Painting claws, playing video games, picking up music samples for Larry - everything is a competition, and he's intending to win

Interests/clan role

he's the executive of the Koopaling clan. His best suit is dirty work, crime, assassinations, theft, etc. If it involves wrecking shit and not talking, he's the first to line up!

His weapon of choice are his fists, but unfortunately life would be too beautiful if everything could be solved with a well aimed hit in the face. So technically speaking he doesn't have a weapon of choice, using whatever he has laying around. He once used a fridge, I'm dead serious that he'll use ANYTHING for combat

His magic specialization are weapons of all kinds. He's the most combative of the clan, and his magic reflects it

His weakness is his do first think later approach. He usually needs someone more intellectual paired up with him to correctly direct his raw strength. Too bad his best friend is Morton!

He enjoys anything gang or mafia or yakuza relates. Treats his affiliation with the Koopaling clan as his "gang", although he's banned from calling them that.

He also loves motorcycles and tinkering with them/other vehicles.

Usually he's the one piloting the airships, because he's the only one who actually enjoys sitting for two hours with a completely clear sky

Relationships

His absolute ride or die is Morton. He's young enough for Roy to act like a cool big brother™, while also not being "whiny" like Larry or Junior.

Morton suffers from Broca's aphasia, a disorder where he's capable of thinking normally, but struggles with actually speaking properly. Roy acts like a translator for him, the two having such a close bond that they can understand each other without words.

He's the most critical of Ludwig, the self-proclaimed clan leader. Before Ludwig had hit puberty properly, Roy was actually the one who was doing the leading. However, it's not that he doesn't like him - quite the opposite, he can feel that Ludwig is shutting down his emotions and that his work ethic more resembles an addiction rather than a normal ambitious person and simply is worried

He struggles to get along with Lemmy, vary of his behavior, especially after the poker incidents. He helps set the boundaries against him, being one of few that Lemmy actually respects.

He's also close to Wendy - his only sister. As he grows more comfortable with his alternative fashion sense, he's one of few who understands how it's like to live looking "weird" (Wendy has alopecia, Roy has heterochromia)

He sometimes acts like a babysitter towards Larry, trying to put off some of the load Ludwig has

He also likes being around Iggy, teaching him to defend himself or how to survive social outings. Besides, they both love chain chomps

Appearance

he's the second most buff clan member, after Morton. And he's proud, not jealous!

He wears the royal emblem as a bandana around one of his arms

He often wears bandanas on his head for sun protection as he targets Desertland

He's the second tallest, after Iggy

He wears motorcycle gloves, adjusted for his claws

If he's constantly on missions, he may get a tan. However it is not permanent because koopas shed like any other reptile, which he's disappointed in

his fashion sense resembles an amalgamation of all the action and mafia movies he had watched, with grunge influences. Very cool very badass (/lh)

He's the most confident koopaling, unlike Lemmy and Ludwig he doesn't have to pretend, which is visible in both his stature and body language

He only ever takes off his sunglasses when he completely trusts someone

his blue-brown eyes represent that he gets along with all of his siblings to some degree. He's more reasonable of the group, and even if he has some problems with others he still can enjoy their company, not afraid of setting boundaries whenever needed.

I've always been scared of OC x Canon.

I always feared that the comfort character I had paired up with may not get along with the OC, and I remember when I made her back in 2017-18 (!) I was deeply insecure and sour about it on deviantart. Sorry to any other ocxcanon peeps I've offended!

So, with my hyperfixation around Koopalings which had resurfaced lately, I want to introduce you to this little girly.

I'm so sorry for the eyestrain, I literally made this in fricking PAINT when I was THIRTEEN.

Her name is Elizabeth. She is a princess of Skyland and an oc x canon for Ludwig Von Koopa, because haha, für Elise.

Here are more current doodles of her, but I'm struggling with a consistent style.

So here's the backstory: She is the daughter of Emperor Ed (super mario show reference) and Rosalina. Raised in a heavily prejudiced high society without a mom, she always struggled to fit in, making her suspiciously open minded.

She's quiet, undiagnosed autistic, loves art of all kinds. Her meeting and falling for Ludwig was a matter of when, rather than if. She does her best to suppress it as she works for Princess Peach, but her heart has a mind of its' own. She kept up her duties despite her heart screaming at her, aching at each maneuver to hurt the koopaling clan.

Ludwig finds her endearing because he can't stand the high society, the nobles and royal meetings, and she is the complete opposite of it. Not flashy, not holding the status quo. Not scared of bickering with him over the most pointless arguments, not being "normal" or "refined".

The moment she opened up about her feelings is when she discovered that Ludwig is a half parakoopa, making an already crushing princess absolutely enamored. With reciprocation!

She's the first princess from the toad castles (grassland, desertland, etc.) to openly speak against princess Peach and change sides. Moreover, she's the reason Ludwig ditched Pipeland to target Skyland instead. Just so the two can meet again..

Her biggest flaw is being impulsive, going with the flow. She often does things first and regrets them later. But getting into this relationship was and never will be a mistake. She doesn't give a shaite if others will look at her, a paratoad dating one of the most influential darklanders around, anymore. Being around Ludwig had influenced her to stand her ground, and Ludwig is influenced by her to let his guard down and be vulnerable.

Alas, The emperor's best friend, Ludwig's biological father Mortimer Koopa Sr., had found a way to stay around Skyland, in the form of his son.

Headcanon dump - Ludwig

Age - 23

MBTI - INTJ-T

His birthday is on december 16th

He most likely has Autism Spectrum Disorder - struggles to get along with others, has a few interests he's incredibly good in. His angry outbursts are actually meltdowns

He stims by walking around in circles, talking to himself, having that one song on repeat. Very subtle, but noticeable to people who are neurodivergent or live around autistics

He is sensory sensitive, which makes him extremely picky about how he's working, what he eats, and the texture of his clothing, which makes him really good at spotting counterfeit.

His special interests are art history, his piano, and magic history

He's the most powerful koopaling, whose magic proficiency challenges Kamek himself

Because of that, his weapon of choice is usually just his wand, however he does have a rapier and other "support", you can't just disarm him by stealing his wand

He doesn't have a speciality, if you'd ask him he'd tell you he's better at the history of magic than magic itself, just like any autistic person trying to convince you that they're not amazing at their special interest

The reason Koopalings have mixed feelings about calling Ludwig the clan leader are his social shortcomings. They worry that he may slip up on this, or that, and stain the reputation of the whole clan. Thankfully, as they grow, they realise that he needs them regardless, just as much as they need him. Both sides can ensure the other thrives.

His fashion sense is classic romantic goth, always wearing his fancy military coat and probably being the only Koopaling who wears the royal badge correctly

Speaking of his coat, he is a half parakoopa, hiding his wings behind it. The reason he reassigned himself from Pipeland to Skyland is the need to perfect his flying, or maybe something else (oc x canon warning lol)

His absolutely favorite season is winter, sitting at home to do his things, able to layer. Though the amount of holidays is kind of overwhelming, so maybe fall..

he's shorter than Roy, Morton and Iggy because of inheriting the parakoopa genes. Parakoopas are naturally smaller and more agile to use their wings the best as they can

He loves coffee, probably it's his only only safe food he can have in any way

He can't stand modern technology. If there's something that can be done manually, he'll use a typewriter, one of the tons of books he has, his room could easily pass for the 19th century reconstruction if we exclude the modern books. If he can't do it his way he either uses magic or asks Iggy if all the options involve it in some way.

Why does he hate it if his childhood self looved tinkering? Easy, 'Kooky' also hated modern technology and wanted to make his own

He's surprisingly the closest to Larry, a polar opposite to him. They mirror the need for approval, the youngest koopaling struggling to get any due to lack of skill, while the oldest struggles to take breaks in fear of becoming weak. Being around each other helps them find the healthy balance.

Considering he's a clan leader of the assassin group directly under Bowser and a renowned pianist, he is a workaholic, balancing his passions with his profession which often overwhelms him.

He can't stand physical touch, ESPECIALLY WITH HIS HAIR. This is the reason Kooky's hair was so messy, he would get a meltdown each time Bowser tried to detangle it. He may have few people he trusts like Larry or Roy, but it's an exception from the rule.

He's like a parental figure to the koopaling clan, though sometimes he may act more childish than them, which causes a ton of "I told you so"'s

He's the first koopaling to openly state his surname, Von. Koopas usually say their names in " name - surname - koopa" order, but other koopalings felt it was too obnoxious or were worried that by having the same surname as Bowser they'd get in trouble. Another I told you so, they were his nephews all along.
