NFL 2018 Rookie Draft
every year I do a post on my tumblr for the NFL draft -- the post usually covers players I happen to be familiar with and who I like in the draft to potentially be a good player in the pros. imo, this draft is pretty crazy with talent and a lot of players happen to be young as well -- there’s a linebacker who is 19! what is going to make this draft even more crazy is the quarterbacks. teams happen to go after them often in the first 2 rounds but it’s looking like at least 5 can go in the top 10 -- which makes very good talent possibly falling out the top 5. that said, i’ll go position-by-position with some opinions and tidbits:
quarterback- the top 5 quarterbacks I was referring to above are Sam Darnold, Josh Allen, Josh Rosen, Baker Mayfield, and Lamar Jackson -- I am very, very high on Baker Mayfield and Josh Rosen! I think both guys have the potential to be very elite in the pros -- they both covet a crazy high confident self-esteem, where their intangibles, imo, set them apart from the pack. And I think intangibles matter a lot when it comes to the QB position. you can’t teach someone how to be a leader... i think that ish comes naturally.. and the way these 2 guys carry themselves, itll be easy for them to lead a group of men to be a good offense when you combine that off the field ish (work ethic and responsibility) with their talent... their talent, Mayfield was the best QB in the red zone, on 3rd downs, and under pressure. to me those are the 3 things i look at when i try to see if a QB has “it”.. Tom Brady is a beast all those 3 things.. Russell Wilson ranked high in those 3 categories when he was a rookie and it carried over rest of his career. Look into Mayfield’s story further, this guy loves football and more than anything else, it seems like he loves to prove people wrong, loves the competition, and loves to win.. Rosen reminds me of Rodgers off the field where he is way too smart and he’s going to be able to pick up a playbook and adapt to the game and adjust where he is a top QB on the next level like he’s been his entire life -- I haven’t watched Sam Darnold but he’s supposed to be the best QB out USC where Carson Palmer imo was a beast -- Josh Allen has the best arm out the bunch but he is horrible under pressure and it will hurt him and his career early if he gets thrown to the wolves after being selected by a team that may not have their O Line established -- Lamar Jackson is the wild joker, the running Qbs have short careers in the NFL but! i think he is more than just a running QB, I read somewhere Patriots like him and if they get him, he can learn a great deal from Bellicheck and Brady and I can see him being successful in the Pros
runningbacks- aw man Saquon Barkley! I can be biased because ever since Allen Robinson, I’ve lowkey liked players out of Penn St more than not, but I’ve said it for the past 2 years that I would draft Barkley number 1 overall if I had the pick, he’s 1 of those players that don’t come around often, you know a Barry Sanders, Bo Jackson, Marcus Allen? Barkley is seriously a can’t miss prospect,he will instantly make it easier for offenses to build after you input him in the HB slot, Giants would be smart to go him 2nd overall if they don’t take one of these Qbs, it’s been awhile since they’ve had a bad ass RB and pairing him with Odell would be crazy -- Sony Michel, i watched dude play towards the end of season since Georgia had their run and all, and every time Georgia needed a big play they gave it to Michel and he produced, he came up with big 3rd down conversions and TDs.. read a report where he has a bone on bone issue on one of his knees that will shorten his career so he can fall in the draft but Michel is an instant starter when selected -- Derrius Guice took some time and carries away from Leonard Fournett when they were both at LSU together, if that don’t say much! Penny outta San Diego ST. was rated high in RB categories by PFF so I’d keep an eye on him
wide receivers- i didnt watch a lot of college football like i normally do and neither the senior bowl like i always do but i do know WR DJ Moore would be the 1st WR i’d select, he’s a late bloomer in college but soon as he got it, it dont look like he looking back, he’s just gonna keep getting better and better and that’s obviously from hard work behind the scenes, he has strong hands and makes spectacular catches in traffic and is good at turning up field quick and is hard to bring down with his foot work -- I came across WR St. Brown outta Notre Dame for his funky name but dude is a big wide receiver who surprisingly can route run good and has good hands, he’s definitely a sleeper prospect that I think will be a lot better than his college numbers show -- I also like Christian Kirk (Texas A&M) who is being overlooked probably because his height, no pun intended, but he can contribute in slot and special teams right away imo, Dasean Hamilton (Penn St) might be biased again but Hamilton looked good like how Robinson and Godwin before him, Dante Pettis (Washington St.) I really like this guy as a #2 or slot in pros, he contributed tremendously as the #2 when John Ross was the #1 at Washington ST, he’s a good route runner and super elusive, fluid, and fast
others- Quentin Nelson offensive Guard outta Notre Dame is a beast and will immediately be good in the pros with his nasty and bully play -- Maurice Hurst DT outta Michigan is falling because his health conditions but he’s following the short stout interior lineman trend set by Aaron Donald and he’s a beast in the pass rush game which is huge since a lot of teams pass these days -- for pass rushers ill keep an eye on Bradley Chubb (who reminds me of Mack), Marcus Davenport and Arden Key -- Linebackers i obviously like Roquon Smith a lot who i seen run side to side with ease and has very good coverage for a linebacker where like i said earlier the nfl passes a lot more now, he is drawing comparisons to Ray Lewis which is crazy -- I’m intrigued by Tremaine Edmunds outta Virginia Tech, he’s only 19!! he’s super tall for an inside linebacker but plays with a lot of range and speed -- defensive backs I really like Fitzpatrick outta Bama and Josh Jackson outta Iowa, I also like Derwin James outta Florida St

"Only humans who behave sensibly are true lovers- they live Empathy through love- the rest take world for granted and expect everyone love them" Life is really simple if we do not overthink things. It is so simple that all we have to do is be consciously aware of ourselves. What do we love? What do we want in life? How do I obtain these goals, How do I turn these wants into needs? Because why would I want something that I really do not need? And everything we ever wish for comes with a good work ethic, patience, and a well-prepared plan. Every thought, every word I say, words I write, it all comes to life with the energy I give it. I am a creator and I create my perspective. I create my luck. I create my karma. I control my choices. And life has a way of making sure we pay for our choices or it eventually makes us feel the repercussions of our choices. Our free-will is not ideally "free". But for this I do not fret. Because love is the only law. And love is under will. And we should all really do what thou wilt! And I will put honesty and respect over everything. You can not see me on my highest level if you do not covet these special qualities- Honesty. Respect. "What you need to know is already inside of you, the hidden becomes found when you re-remember your place in the universe" Know this world is a spiritual world and not a material world- then you will enjoy the path life will take you on rather than always being unhappy. Despair and unhappiness is only a result of illusions. You are ill-advised in believing external/material things bring you happiness.... Wrong! Truth, Happiness & everything you ever yearn for is inside of you. Quit looking outside for that stuff. "Taking a realistic view and cultivating a proper motivation can also shield you against feelings of fear and anxiety." I AM THANKFUL! THANKFUL THAT I AM STILL HERE! WHATEVER I WANT, I WILL PUT MY MIND TO IT.. IT WILL COME TRUE! "If you never tasted a bad apple, you would not appreciate a good apple. You have to experience life to understand life." Truthfully it is hard to not smile or laugh! Life is a fucking joy! In the end, everything always ends up okay! The bad always brings so much good and it even makes the good taste that much better!

NFL draft 2015
DT Carl Davis Iowa — was a force defensively for his senior bowl team, had bad interviews w/ team though so project as a 2nd-3rd day pick WR Tyler Lockett Kansas St. — did his thing all season long, always looking for the positive after catch, good route runner, good awareness, seemed to me as only WR @ senior bowl who performed exceptionally well, project as 3rd-4th rounder only bc his size 5'10" 182 (which I don't knock like the scouts) I think he's going to be a force as a slot in the NFL, in a role similar to Wes welker w patriots TE Clive Walford Miami — compared himself to Gronkowski during scouting combine week, not quite there (yet?) but dominated his competition during senior bowl week, watched tape against FSU and Virgina- he is reliable 3rd down target, looked like a better blocker for a TE than I've heard before watching for myself, he definitely is hard to cover for either or LBs/DBs, project as 2nd-3rd rounder CB Ladarius Gunter Miami — seen him first in 101 WR vs DB drills during senior bowl week and was solid in coverage, only time I watched or heard of him was senior bowl, definitely dominated the week but it's said that week's performance doesn't match up w/ what his tape shows… projected 4th-5th rounder OG Laken Tomlinson Duke — intelligent, strong base, excelled and raised his draft stock during senior bowl week, needs to get better at 2nd level blocking, project as a 2nd-3rd rounder, I personally wouldn't be surprised to see him go in the 1st round, he's definitely my favorite lineman in draft OG Max Garcia Florida — held his own against good players NT Danny Shelton and NT Carl Davis at the senior bowl, versatile player can play anywhere on O Line, project him as a very solid 3rd day pick, whoever steals this guy late in draft is very lucky, at very least he is a solid backup bc of his ability to play anywhere on the O line, and his ceiling is nice career at center for a franchise 5T DE Henry Anderson Stanford — seemed like he won every 101 match up in senior bowl practices, would be a 5T in pros, project him as a 3rd day pick Edge Dante Fowler Florida — I try to stay away from scouting combines or pro days to evaluate a player but Fowler looked the type during the combine… put his helmet on, is he still that explosive? I think he is just learning his potential and it'll be on him if he wants to reach it… the ability is definitely there and he can be one of the top defenders in league someday… top 10 pick Edge Alvin Dupree Kentucky — Bud definitely deserves to be talked about as one better edge defenders in this class, his only knock is he was very inconsistent, I first seen him at senior bowl, was dominating 101 drills, 1st-2nd round pick OLB Nate Orchard Utah — another guy I got first look at from senior bowl, has the college production, did good the week of SB, can get locked on easily by towering o linemen though, projected mid round pick RT Rob Havenstein Wisconsin — stood out in 101 drills at SB 15, is massive towering lineman at 6'7” 321 but his footwork and quickness better than you'd expect, combines his size and strength w/ his length to wall off defenders, projected mid round pick LT Donovan Smith Penn State — maybe it's my liken towards the school? Maybe it isn't haha… I liked what I saw from him at SB 15, looks like he understands leverage and definitely uses his reach to his advantage as good lineman do projected mid rounder MLB Eric Kendricks UCLA — NFL in his bloodline, older brother plays for Eagles( BERKELEYYYY ALUMNI), Eric is said to be the better brother and I've actually always considered Mychael as 1 of the better inside backers in NFL, projected day 1 pick MLB Benardrick McKinney Miss St. — very big linebacker w/ surprising speed to match up w that size, was all rookie sec team, 1st team all sec, despite size was top performer in vertical jump at scouting combine, will be a solid piece for a solid defense imo (understands team play, role playing) projected 2nd round but I wouldn't mind taking him in 1st round SS Shaq Thompson Washington — he's a football player, period. Forget measureables, positions etc. just give him an assignment and let him play, played both HB and LB in college and has the production, I would love to see him as a strong safety in pros in a Kam Chancellor type role, projected round 2 or 3 OLB Vic Beasley Clemson — imo he is the best pure pass rusher in this class, don't ask him to defend the run or drop back in coverage, let him do what he does best and get to the qb and he will be outstanding, my 6th best rated player in class, projected top 10 WR Amari Cooper Alabama — man his production in college is just ridiculous, it's like a video game but not just a video game, you have to know the cheat codes to that video game to get same production Cooper got in real life !! Has always been top WR to me before and after Kevin White's scouting combine, just recently he's been getting a lot of comparisons to Tim Brown, Raider legend himself gave nod to comparison although saying Cooper is bigger than he was and Brown believing he was slightly faster than Cooper, Brown also said Cooper seems more NFL ready than Brown was himself coming out of college, every time I turn Cooper's film on I'm at awe of how public and media can't see how easy it'd be to pick this guy at no. 1 overall and not blink an eye about it Edge Randy Gregory Nebraska — was my top player before I dived into all the prospects I got into, I don't understand how he goes from for sure top 5 talent to people knocking him so much off the field, If I were Gm I would still draft him in top 5, he is aldon smith but with the run defending ability as well. Was asked at Nebraska to play the run a lot, imagine if a D coordinator let him play aggressive as strictly pass rusher in NFL, his weight is not an issue, he clearly understands how leverage and length is all you need as a d lineman NT Danny Shelton Washington — my favorite interior lineman after Leonard Williams, Shelton is all muscle and a bull inside the line, can and will take on double teams, projected top 20 pick HB John Crockett North Dakota St. — nicknamed Taz after the tazmanian devil due to his non stop movement, my sleeper at the HB position for a 3rd day pick, will be solid back up in NFL that can be play all 3 downs in case injury, can catch exceptional out backfield, patient runner w good vision, projected 6th 7th round HB David Cobb Minnesota — seen at senior bowl, can be a full time starter in NFL, shifty for his size, he can pass protect really good, good speed, patient, projected mid round pick HB Duke Johnson Miami — was told about him but didn't see him until I watched Clive Walford's tape, he's elusive quick shifty and always trying to get positive HB Ameer Abdullah Nebraska — killed it SB 15 game, was best performer that day, has all tools for a NFL starter WR Phillip Dorsett Miami — actually ran into seeing him play by watching film on Clive Walford, it seemed like those 2 and Duke Johnson seen all the touches for Miami's offense, if it wasn't Walford or Johnson it was Dorsett open making a play, project as a 3rd day pick early in offseason but is now being talked as day 1 day 2 guy, another guy that can be a solid slot receiver, 1 thing he'll do for sure though is take top of defenses and open up the underneath for his teammates CB Marcus Peters Washington — got kicked out of school but can easily be considered top player in this class, plays very physical and confident, to me those are the top 2 traits in an elite cornerback, wants to be the best, wants to shutdown anyone across from him, top 5 pick to me but won't happen bc off field issue CB P.J. Williams Florida St. — very tall corner, good man to man corner, has hops so will go up to deflect the balls to new trend tall receivers, project day 1 or day 2 pick CB Quinten Rollins Miami Ohio — flashed his skill at SB 15 game, had 2 ints in the game, played corner only for a couple years after playing basketball his whole life, I think he will be a good range free safety in the pros with good coaching projected day 2 pick ILB Paul Dawson TCU — production instincts production instincts production instincts projected 1st round for me

What do you want your legacy to be? First of all, a 'legacy' is something, to me, that goes hand in hand w\ the word 'forever'. Outside looking in, there is nothing about me that looks to last forever; but, I truly feel deep down in myself that my soul lasts forever! It is sooo empathically filled w\ passion -- the energy it possesses cannot go anywhere other than where 'forever' is at. It craves and screams to be very profound and very impactful. An impact so strong towards everyone I personally encounter, they have no choice but to remember who I am, and more importantly, how I made them feel. I believe feelings are underrated. Feelings allow us to access the energy we unknowingly contain. The more in tune you are w\ your feelings and your energy, the more knowledge you will gain on how to respond to life.

More of a Euphoria
Yes you were designed to fail No you will never attain, everything Look at your primitive brain Look at your ignorant ways Look at your innocent eyes When the mirror look your way, look away Don’t take responsibility for your actions anyway In any way, shape, form, or fashion Dont be rational for goodness sake, a-dapt There's no need to stand up, act like you got bad back Spasms that you can't take You are not invincible, imbecile you can break I pity you, pitiful and I hope you go to hell Even if the pit is full Let's make that a mandate I hope you hate what I did to you, did I get to you? Yes you were designed to fail No you will never attain, everything Look at your primitive brain Look at your ignorant ways Look at your innocent eyes When the mirror look your way, look away Think of all the bad decisions you made In the past even to this day Drive yourself mad, run out of gas on the information interstate That might be a bit much if it is in my intents to offend ya And leave dents in your confidence Blow your fuse, sabotage your views So you can keep a funky attitude, like the parliament And everyday I do, that’s why you never grew No you weren't designed to fail Yes you where meant to attain, everything What a magnificent brain Such benevolent ways, look at your innocent eyes When the mirror look your way, look her straight In the face, come to grips with who you are and Who you ain't Where you going, where you been Help your family, help your friends Plant a seed, teach, he or she to be the, deity The media will never perceive us As, get your five dolla' ass up Make change, make a way for today Tomorrow was yesterday Find a fine line between time and space Contact the cosmos and you'll hear em say: Everybody, wants to, be victorious We can make this (world) more of a euphoria

What I would do
Y’all are jokes judging McKenzie & co. based off of one season. Especially if you’re doing this and completely ignoring the fact that they were given no draft picks AND a tough cap-room situation. Thanks to Hue Jackson for the former, and Al Davis for the latter. (the people you should blame for the 6 ft hole the organization is trying to climb out of.) Note that I think Davis was the best thing to ever happen to football, and I think Hue Jackson is a stud play-caller.
Nevertheless, both McKenzie & Allen made mistakes but to me that’s okay since they were both rookies in their positions. It wouldn’t be okay if they didn’t own up to their mistakes or learned from them. But based on interviews this off season and moves they’ve made, it looks like they’ve learned quite a lot their rookie year. Allen sure as hell owned up to his mistake by firing Knapp and that horrible ST coach. I like all 3 signings of Olsen, Sparano, and April as well. Olsen looks like his style & scheme goes in hand with the offense this roster has, barring this group of o-linemen. But that’s where Sparano comes into play, an excellent lineman coach. It’s become a trend for o-line coaches to be asst. HCs, and Sparano seems the perfect role for that in Oakland. If you watch April’s introduction interview, he clearly has a great understanding of how important STs are. example: put an emphasis that a good ST always strives to put their team in good field position.
the linebackers coach, Bob sanders, looks like he just does a good job relaying the message…. Tarver specializes in linebackers so just have to have good communication between the two
The things we don’t see is what matters most to a team’s success during regular season. Those things being coaches meetings, team meetings, and practices. It matters a whole deal that the staff meshes together and understands each others philosophies. Maybe I didn’t pay attention as much last year or maybe I did, but I don’t remember getting the impression that the staff was working hard together on getting on that same level of speaking the same language, in terms of scheming and playbooking, that I do this year.
So I have a better sense of comfort with this staff than I do last year, that’s for sure. But now for the roster, us fans still have to wait and see, in order to fairly judge the front office. For me to have the same comfort that I do with Allen’s offseason moves, I would like to see the following from McKenzie:
Reconstruct Palmer OR cut him and draft Geno Smith — either way sign Matt Moore for competition -Matt Moore has ties w/ Sparano, actually they flourished w/ each other, having their best seasons production-wise as a duo
resign Mike Goodson, definitely looked like a play-maker when given the ball last season, his PFF backs this up too +6.9 on 145 snaps
reconstruct DHB that gives a bigger aid to cap room than Brisel pay-cut, if he doesn’t want to, Cut him attempt to sign WR Brian Hartline if Dolphins don’t resign him, another player that has ties w/ Sparano, i would say Greg Jennings but his asking price is ridiculous -could even draft a WR, class is deep w/ hidden gems (Marquess Wilson)
attempt to sign TE Delanie Walker, if power scheme is what Olsen wants, Walker would be great fit, good run blocker that can line up anywhere on the field (sorta like Reece but as blocker instead of play-maker catcher/runner, although Walker can sometimes make spectacular catches, he just isn’t consistent) if i were passing though, i would just sub Reece or Ausberry in for Walker -could even draft a TE, class is deep let Myers walk, won’t fit new scheme
let Barnes walk, draft a RT if Jets put a 2nd round tender on OT Austin Howard, and McKenzie trades back for one, attempt to sign the restricted free agent who has ties w/ Sparano
let Carlisle walk unless he takes vet minimum attempt to sign OGs Brandon Moore and Matt Slauson from Jets, Sparano familiar w/ them as well…. Jets made strides when they switched to gap-blocking from zone-blocking late in the season
trade Brisel and Bringstrom for draft picks if they can’t adjust to gap-blocking scheme, otherwise keep them for competition
im HIGH on Brandon Ross, Phillip Adams and Joselio Hansen. resign them all if possible. Ross played great at end of season!! Can do good at both corner and safety imo. Adams is good reserve DB (held his own when name called) and can be good punt returner w/ coach April. Hansen is one best nickelbacks in league. FA class is deep so would like McKenzie to attempt to sign following: Adam Jones, Terrence Newman, Sheldon Brown, Chris Houston, Greg Toler, Darius Butler, EJ Biggers, Keenan Lewis, Kyle Arrington. whichever falls to 3rd tier in the FA in terms of pricing $$.. i can see McKenzie drafting CB McFadden out SDSU if he falls late mid rounds
resign Wheeler !! attempt to sign Nick Barnett (ties w/ McKenzie), attempt to sign Brad Jones (he loves him some Packers)
attempt to sign DE Michael Bennett (TA&M), definitely attempt to sign DE Juqua Parker–browns moving to 3-4 so he won’t resign with them; can come at cheap 1-yr deal, attempt to sign DE Wallace Gilberry -draft Bjoern Werner (very high on him), Mingo, or Ansah
resign Bryant !! despite his mugshot LOL, you can’t knock Desmond’s coming along year last season (highest PFF rating for interior d-linemen +16.5) i think the mugshot helps Raiders leverage in resigning him matter of fact cut Tommy Kelly if he doesn’t reconstruct attempt to sign DT Vance Walker or draft Sharriff Floyd, Star, Sheldon Richardson
reconstruct Huffs contract, maybe Branch too.. move Huff back to FS.. draft a safety, class is deep PLZ cut Giordano, resign Mike Mitchell if cheap (ST player, good reserve for depth) can always play Brandon Ross at FS if Huff needs to be cut
sadly, let Shane Lechler walk and use that $$ elsewhere… I like King’s potential.. have King or Pryor be Jano’s new holder

Purple by Crustation
Sitting in the silent twilight The purple half light Of the twilight Wrap the night around me Blanket of black on my back I feel safe in the darkness Your voice is a caress Delights my senses Heightens my happiness Lightens my sadness Your eyes were on me I remember Those days in September Sunset run night Your hand held in mine Sitting in the silent twilight The purple half light Of the twilight Wrap the night around me Blanket of black on my back I feel safe in the darkness The silence is so loud I almost feel it Nothing to say now Barely can talk now I'm feeling like I'm lost I'm feeling dumb Speechless and numb So long I've been blind I'm losing my mind Sitting in the silent twilight The purple half light Of the twilight Wrap the night around me Blanket of black on my back I feel safe in the darkness Sitting in the silent twilight rapture Could it be too hard to capture ? Time aside as fixed, are we still able to control Change? ? ? ?
"Progress is impossible without change; and those who cannot change their minds cannot change anything." - George Bernard Shaw
As life changes, we must change. Change is the most definite inevitability.
We are humans.
We are character.
We are personality.
We are habits.
We are self-conscious.
The list can be forever of what "we" is, but as "we" goes as life goes, it should be a necessity that "we" changes in a positive manner. But what we fail to realize is that life follows our change. Our change is the former, and life's change is the latter. Our change effects the cause of life's change. So if "we" changes positively, life's change will also be positive+
