New Fics in Harry Potter Recs
You can follow my full Harry Potter rec list here.
Gen
Focus on Me - In the aftermath of the Battle of the Seven Potters, Fred is focused on one thing. Angst. The twins try to anchor themselves in each other after nearly losing George. The bittersweet foreshadowing and exploring the immediate aftermath of trauma was handled well and something I wanted to see given how everything turns out for these two. One-shot.
Mentor Snape, Harry (Severitus)
A House on Stilts - Every summer, Snape takes Harry to the ocean. It’s strange how much kindness can hurt when it reveals what you’ve been missing. Domestic Fluff/Angst. Another Snape mentors Harry/Slytherin!Harry fic as seen through the lens of a cottage by the sea. Told in brief snippits over the years, this fic deals with Harry and Snape’s paternal relationship through Harry’s numerous trials at Hogwarts and as he develops feelings for Draco and forges a strong friendship with the Golden Trio. Not gonna lie, the ending of this story really killed me. One-shot.

Updated Pacific Rim Recs
Organized by pairing (or gen) and then alphabetized by title. Summaries (which have been copied from their respective stories) and descriptions are provided. Notation at the end of the description indicates if a story is completed or a WIP.
Gen
Take Up Your Spade and Break Ground - Tendo Choi is a 911 dispatcher because it pays well and because he’s damn good at it. He doesn’t take the job with the expectation of finding a family – but sometimes the people who call end up up meaning a hell of a lot, and Tendo’s never been one to stay detached. Friendship/Family. Tendo POV, very well written and the plot is original. A great AU overall. I really loved following Tendo and his relationships to the Shatterdome people through his work at 911. One-shot.
Hermann, Newton Friendship
All the Colors of the Rainbow - The first thing Newt noticed about Hermann was that he was a neat freak. Well. Okay. Maybe not a neat freak. Maybe just an ordinarily-neat person who didn’t like kaiju guts in his work space. Sharing a lab was going to be a challenge … Drama. Am I reccing this because Newt is autistic? Yes, yes I am. Also, these drabbles do wonders at showing the day-to-day struggles of Newton and Hermann sharing a lab. One-shot.
Hush Now - Hermann is upset and Newt tries to cheer him up. It either goes horribly wrong or horribly right- he’s not sure. Hurt/Comfort. Hermann gets an unfortunate phone call from his father and Newt is there to pick up the pieces. Drabble length, but still sweet. One-shot.
Not Unwelcome - Set directly after the events of the movie. Hermann leaves the celebrations to give himself some space, away from the loud people clapping him on the back, away from the happily drunken crowd, and, maybe, a bit of space away from Newt. Naturally, the moment he disappears, Newt goes after him. Minor angst ensues. Friendship/Angst. Cute, fluffly, indulgent, everything you want out of a feel-good story. An enjoyable read. One-shot.
Tröstung - When Hermann is three years old, his mother gives him a stuffed lamb. Angst/Friendship. Following Hermann through the years in his interactions with his comfort object (an adorable sheep names Oskar). The premise and structure of the story really does a nice job at providing snapshots in Hermann’s life and development as he grows into the brilliant scientist he is. The story also provides a brief insight into Hermann and Newt’s relationship. One-shot.
Hermann/Newton
a ghost will be here in my stead - Hermann is feeling under the weather. Hurt/Comfort/Fluff. Post Uprising. Hermann falls ill after pushing himself too far to save Newton from the Precursors. Newton picks up the pieces. One-shot.
A Hand That Hold No Weapon - On their way back to the Hong Kong Shatterdome, Newton helps Gottlieb adjust to the after effects of drifting together. Drama/Hurt/Comfort. A much needed story after Hermann and Newton drift. Fun story, okay writing. One-shot.
A Momentary Lapse of Reason - It’s Newton’s fault, really. That Hermann is stuck on the floor of the Kwoon, feeling more than a bit useless and broken. Fluff/Hurt/Comfort. Hermann pushes himself too hard trying to physically work out his self-loathing. Newton is there to pick up the pieces. One-shot.
A Not so Simple Cold - Herman is sick. Really sick. He, however, is choosing to ignore how sick he is which Newton does not agree with. Fighting ensues but some realizations about their feelings for one another also come to a head. Fluff. One of those sickfics that’s not particularly original nor well written, but definitely scratched the hurt/comfort itch when needed. One-shot.
A Warm and Gentle Tug - Hermann has a fear of having his blood drawn due to the fact that he always passes out or gets sick while it happens. This time around however, Hermann takes Newt along with him to his appointment to help ease him. Hurt/Comfort. Not the best writing here, but the relationship is fun. Mainly reccing because I have the exact same problem getting my blood drawn. One-shot.
Battered and Bruised - When Hermann comes to Newt’s defense, it doesn’t end well. Hurt/Comfort. Short and somewhat sweet. Newton and Hermann try to fix each other up after getting into a fight at a bar. One-shot.
Blue All Over - The worst one was recorded on a cold dreary day in the autumn of 2021. Hurt/Comfort. One of their many, and possible one of their worst, lab accidents. Herman is a self sacrificing idiot and Newton is at least fast on his feet. One-shot.
Collision - A kiss gone wrong. Romance/Humor. Hermann and Newton being dorky and clumsy. Cute, but short, story. One-shot.
Dehydration Sensation - Hermann doesn’t handle heat well. Hurt/Comfort. Hermann doesn’t take care of himself in the middle of a heat wave and Newt once again has to pick up the pieces. Including obstinate, delirious, and dissaproving Hermann alongside exasperated Newton! One-shot.
Homeostasis - The K-science laboratory stands on its own plane of existence; life within its concrete walls runs in parallel to life in the bigger world of the Hong Kong Shatterdome. Yet even here the laws of physics apply. Whenever Hermann’s body isn’t failing him, Newton’s mind is on the verge of breaking. Hurt/Comfort. The scientists have a rough day in the lab. I really enjoyed the contrast of the mental and physical given that each Hermann and Newt suffer from their own handicaps. Seeing the ailments as both a foil and a complement to each other was a very compelling look into their relationship. One-shot.
Incessant - Hermann’s physical limitations frustrate him to tears. Angst. Newton tries to help Hermann after a fall, Hermann is frustrated that his body won’t cooperate with anything. Poor Newt has to make this situation at least bearable for both of them. The selling points for this story is mostly domestic science boyfriends and an accurate depiction of the frustrations that come with being disabled/handicapped. One-shot.
Keep Your Mouth Shut, Keep Your Guard Up - Hercules Hansen does not understand why Hermann won’t just tell him why he got in a fight with the new J-Tech. It’s obvious who came out worse for wear. Hurt/Comfort/Romance. Hermann just wants to protect Newton, they just keep getting into trouble. So wonderfully in character. I love these two. One-shot.
Laundry Day - “I must have almost popped the question a hundred times, but the timing never seemed…right, you know?” “And you decided nearly killing me in the middle of laundromat was the Platonic ideal of romance, did you?” Aka the one where Hermann launders Newt’s jacket and finds rather more than he bargained for. Hermann/Newt. Romance/Humor. This story is just so cute. I love how the everyday interaction between Newt and Hermann turns into such a touching/adorable moment. One-shot.
Oh, They’re Gonna Have to Fight Me - The Drift makes them realize they belong together. Now that they cancelled the apocalypse, there’s nothing left for them to do but live out their lives in happiness. That is, until Hermann realizes there’s more to the nightmares that Newt keeps having. (In which they don’t spend those ten years apart, and Hermann is there to figure it out and save Newt when the Precursors start taking over him.) Fluff/Angst. They win the war, get married, and live happily ever after until they don’t. If you were anything like me, the sequel really disappointed on the whole “haven’t seen you in ten years” bit. This is the fix-it that we needed for our science husbands as Hermann has to navigate his relationship with Newt while realizing exactly how compromised his husband truly is. Complete.
Pride - Newmann oneshot. Newt takes Hermann on a date to his first LGBT parade- fluff through and through, except for a little reference to acephobia. Romance/Friendship. Am I reccing this entirely because Hermann is asexual? Yes, yes I am. Also features cute relationships, Newton coming up with a bunch of “queer” orientated pet names for Hermann, and some good points about sexuality. One-shot.
Somewhere, Something - Newt and Hermann start dating in the rush of change the end of war brings. Each of them is frightened that the other doesn’t realize what he’s in for. Hurt/Comfort/Angst. The science boyfriends help each other out as they grow closer in their relationship. I really appreciate the take on both mental and physical health issues. Two-shot, complete.
strange perceptions - The most essential question to pose, obviously, is why is Hermann presently finding himself contained in a shut-down emergency decontamination unit with only his lab partner as company, having forgone not only the process of actual decontamination but also the process of being noticed by anyone at all. The answer is frustratingly straightforward: because Newton. Angst/Hurt/Comfort. In which feelings are shared and realizations come to. I really love the dialogue, character introspection, and use of flashbacks in this story. I also love the fact that it literally took getting stuck together and completely helpless to force them into a conversation about feelings. One-shot.
Strong Enough - the Precursor in captivity, nobody knows exactly how to get Newt back to his old self, if that’s even possible. But Newt was always stubborn, and damn if Hermann would ever give up on him, or, worse yet, let him give up on himself. Emotional Hurt/Comfort/Angst. Hermann is going to get his husband back, even if he has to fight the entire Shatterdome, the alien possessing his love, and his own nightmares to do it. Another precursor!Newt fix-it, but we need all of those that we can get because I want my science husbands to end up happy. One-shot.
Taken Care Of - Newt helps out Hermann when he’s having a bad day. Hurt/Comfort. A short and fluffy slice of life story that follows the companionship of Newt and Hermann through a rough day. One-shot.
The Ghost and Dr. Priestly - Newt is pulling an all-nighter in the university library studying for a chemistry test, when he begins to hear strange sounds. Good news: it’s not a ghost. Bad news: he only finds out after giving his lab partner, Hermann, a mild concussion. Drama/Romance/Hurt/Comfort. Newt is an unbelievable idiot and poor Hermann suffers the consequences. Or, Hermann is concussed and is probably not thinking properly, but he still kisses Newt even after the daft man nearly brained him with a book. One-shot.
Tricks and Treats - Seven fics for the seven days of Gottbleed week (Oct. 5th-11 2015). Each story: 1. Is Gottbleed 2. Fulfills an OTP prompt from tumblr 3. Is newmann and 4. Is Halloween related. Trick or treating, costumes, haunted houses, ghosts, too much candy - and much more! Cute, funny, with a side of seriousness. Humor/Drama. Hermann and Newton make such a fun couple and these somewhat Halloween themed shorts perfectly show off their characters. Complete.
You and Your Dog Teeth - Desperate to find ends and solutions, Hermann wears himself out to exhaustion looking for answers, especially his already lame leg. Being around as his usual working late night companion, it’s up to Newt to help take Dr. Gottlieb home. What seemed entirely like a normal night only ends with two scientists realizing there’s a lot more between them than they thought. Angst/Humor. Such a fun story, this has a good balance between emotional tension and moments of hilarity that only the K-science boys can fully pull off. The awkward approach to romance in this story works very well for the characters and give an authentic feel to the whole thing. Two-shot, complete.
You Know I Love You: I Wrote It Down - Drs. Geiszler and Gottlieb’s relationship goes back almost ten years. We know this because the paper trail goes that far back, too. Romance. Where do I begin with this story? It’s so well done and amazingly written. I can’t get enough of it. The idea to follow the relationship of Hermann and Newton through their paper trail was brilliant and well executed. The sheer nerdy romance is amazing. I don’t even care if it has smut in it, it’s still well worth the read. One-shot.

Hot Fuzz Recs
Organized by pairing (or gen) and then alphabetized by title. Summaries (which have been copied from their respective stories) and descriptions are provided. Notation at the end of the description indicates if a story is completed or a WIP.
Gen
The Blind Burglar - In which there is a blind burglar, a load of tourists, and a potted plant. Friendship/Case fic. Danny solves the crime for once. Just some cute slice-of-life friendship in this one, as well as Danny processing some of his feelings about his father. One-shot.
Curse of the Cuddly Monkey! - “It tasted kind of like gardening” Supernatural/Humor/Crack. The monkey that Angel wins for Danny is on a mission to take over the world, except that no one will listen to it. An absolutely hilarious and well written ride of a fic. It combines so well with the tone of the movie. One-shot.
Haunted - Nicholas can’t let go of what he saw during the NWA case. Angst/Horror. A slightly introspective what-if that Angel can’t seem to get out of his head. One-shot.
Taking the Lead - After a chase with a suspect goes horribly wrong, Danny is left to catch the perp. Hero!Danny and some Hurt!Nicholas. Hurt/Comfort/Adventure. A cute one-shot that lets Danny step into the spotlight for once. I really appreciate stories that look at how Danny could grow into the role of policeman when he finally got out from under the thumb of his father. One-shot.
Andy/Andy
One and One is Two - Moments of homo-romantic friendship between the Andes. Established relationship Danny/Nick in the background. Romance/Humor. A small slice-of-life fic told in snatches over the years. Cute and a good background to fairly one-dimensional characters. One-shot.
Danny/Nicholas
Contact - That warmth in his chest was all too familiar. It had been showing up a loc recently, something that Nicholas had been trying to ignore. In the back of his mind he knew exactly why - it was a cause and effect feeling, and the cause was Danny being close like this. Friendship/Romance. Technically pre-slash, but a very cute look at Nicholas opening up to the idea of physical affection. Definitely reccing this for autistic Nick though. One-shot.
False Spite - Set after the events of Hot Fuzz. Newly promoted Inspector Nicholas Angel struggles to cope with the stress of his position and predicament, Danny Butterman struggles to understand why Nick is avoiding him. Hurt/Comfort. Nick struggles with anxiety and pushes his new colleagues and friends away in a bid to deal with everything that’s happened. Danny and his team won’t go willingly. Also starring poor self-medicating habits. One-shot.
Hold My Hand - Someone was holding his hand. Hurt/Comfort. Danny wasn’t the only one injured in the explosion at the end of the movie. And now the two partners were stuck together in the hospital. Two-shot, complete.
The Sandford Christmas Miracle - Sometimes the miracle you get is the one you didn’t know you needed. Romance. A getting-together fic. Nicholas gives Danny Christmas Eve off and goes patrolling alone. His partner is not the happiest about the situation. In which Nicholas saves a bunch of kids and Danny finally clears the air between them. One-shot.
Waking - Danny wakes up beside Nicholas. Romance. Just a soft, slightly intimate drabble taking place at the start of the day. This fic definitely melted me a little bit. One-shot.

New fic in Fullmetal Alchemist recs
Damaged - The Promised Day is over, but the ‘sacrifices’ still have a ways to go before they get their true happy ending. AU after Brotherhood. Angst/Fluff/Friendship. A What-If AU following what would happen if the injuries at the end of the series didn’t get glossed over/handwaved away. I really appreciate the look at the emotional, physical, and psychological recovery of multiple characters. Complete.

Welcome to Night Vale Recs
One of my favourite podcasts! You can follow the full rec page here.
Organized by pairing (or gen) and then alphabetized by title. Summaries (which have been copied from their respective stories) and descriptions are provided. Notation at the end of the description indicates if a story is completed or a WIP.
Cecil/Carlos
An Accident of Science - Cecil announces something on the air and Carlos is the most surprised of them all. Romance/Family. Carlos tries to navigate the weirdness of the Night Vale medical system when he learns that Cecil is expecting. Oh look, I’m reccing another mpreg fic. Gee, I need to get a better coping mechanism for the ‘ovaries don’t function’ shit and stop posting these things. But they’re just so cute and my unnecessarily hormonal ass wants more. One-shot.
A Radio Host is Always Tenacious - It had already happened to Carlos, so Cecil really should have seen it coming. But then he was out reporting on the sudden torrential downpour and it was nearing Night Vale’s cooler season and honestly, Carlos was so cute when he was doing science that Cecil didn’t want to bother him with something so insignificant… Sickfic. In which magic rain reveals the truth to the citizens of Night Vale and causes mass pandemonium. Cecil is forced to confront the memories he buried after Cassettes and Carlos tries to keep everything together long enough to get them both out of danger. Slightly weird, oddly written, but fitting of Night Vale. Complete.
for the way across - Cecil is jumped while walking home from work, and Carlos takes him to Abby’s for help. Fluff/Hurt/Comfort. A blind!Cecil story. It’s not the most original plot, but I did enjoy the look at disability and bloodstone circles in Night Vale. One-shot.
Four Years Later - It’s been four years since Carlos first arrived in Night Vale, and he is planning to propose. Meanwhile, Kevin finally escapes the desert otherworld and decides that the only way he can be with Carlos is if Cecil is out of the picture—permanently. Angst/Hurt/Comfort. A take on the possibility of Cecil being immortal as well as an explanation for his fear of mirrors. This is one of my favorite fanfics and I really love how it ties into and plays with several parts of cannon so well. A must read for angsty Cecilos fans. Complete.
Offspring - “Listeners, I can’t stand it any longer. I have the most exciting news and I just can’t hold it in anymore. Carlos, my beautiful, perfect husband, I hope you’re listening, because this announcement is mostly for you. As some of you might be aware, I experience a cycle every six years and while that would usually be an embarrassment to admit, this time it brings me nothing but joy. After a visit to the Night Vale General Hospital this morning, I discovered that I’m carrying six eggs, all of them occupied. That’s right listeners, I’m pregnant!” Family/Fluff. Cecil is pregnant in only the way Night Vale could allow, but he and Carlos are excited to start a family. This is cute and fluffy and I need it in my life right now. One-shot.
The Night of the Silver Teeth - The sex that started it all is sort of Carlos’ fault. No, that’s not fair. It takes two to tango, they say. Except that in Nightvale they’d say, “It takes two to spawn a vicious, toothed, screaming hell-creature that will chew its way out of your insides in the middle of the night and leave your boyfriend working far above his medical qualifications to save your life. But oh, isn’t it the cutest little button!“ Horror/Hurt/Comfort. Cecil unexpectedly has a child in the middle of the night or, more accurately, the child chews its way out of his abdomen. Poor Carlos has to figure out how to keep everyone alive and in one piece. I love when crack and horror intersect in fun and terrifying ways! Also, some really well done characterization with Cecil’s radio show. One-shot.
Night Vale’s Newest Citizen - The City Council declares Night Vale a “disaster zone,” and puts all citizens on strict rations. Except there isn’t enough food to go around, and Cecil decides that Carlos is more deserving of their food than he is. Angst. Cecil makes stupid decisions, Carlos is oblivious until it’s almost too late, and Night Vale’s emergency systems screws everyone over. Angst in the beginning turns into delightful fluff at the end. One-shot.
No One Said Possession Was Pleasant - “…she turns to look back, and we all see her face and we…” Cecil paused, though not entirely by choice. He felt a push at the back of his mind.
“We….” He struggled to continue speaking, he felt himself floundering in his own mind. Somewhere in his fleeting consciousness Cecil registered panic, a tightening in the vocal chords, which were normally soft and loose. His voice scraped across his throat. He could feel his pupils contract painfully, his skin rippling. “we…. The Woman From Italy, Oh! Merciful Goddess!” Hurt/Comfort/Fluff. Episode tag for The Woman From Italy, mostly just a guilty pleasure excuse to see Cecil affected by the horrors that Night Vale regularly goes through. One-shot.
Palmer, Cecil G. Sertraline - Set sometime before Condos. (31.5) Cecil has certain preferences for transportation and date nights and unusual sleeping habits. Carlos is very accepting of it all, but a little confused. My theory of how Carlos found out his boyfriend has a chronic illness. Fluff. Am I reccing this because I also have a chronic illness that my spouse has to contend with, maybe. But it’s cute and very in character, so here it is. One-shot.
Red Flagged (Or, Five Times Cecil Saved Carlos from Almost Certain Death, and One Time Carlos Returned the Favor) - Does what it says on the tin. If this is terrible, I am not responsible. If it is okay, then yeah. I take full responsibility. Fluff/Romance. Cecil is always there to save Carlos, mostly from himself, as the scientist tries to figure out life in Night Vale. I’m always a sucker for 5+1 because I love the variations on a theme and this did not disappoint even if most of the individual plots are drabbles. One-shot.
Scientific Reasoning - Earthquakes in Night Vale have never been real, have never been felt…until today. So what does that have to do with the radio station, and why can’t anyone contact Cecil? Hurt/Comfort. Carlos has to rescue Cecil after an earthquake nearly destroys the community radio station. Much drama and just the right amount of hurt-comfort ensues. This story was written fairly early in cannon and so some Steve Carlsberg hate, but still a cute read. Carlos is an indulgent boyfriend and Cecil is a workaholic. One-shot.
This is Good - After a particularly vicious punishment from Station Management, Cecil returns home to find a welcome surprise who isn’t as nonchalant about what happened as he is. Angst. Carlos tries to patch Cecil up while coming to terms with the how horrifyingly normal violence is in Night Vale. Oh look, another guilty pleasure fic! One-shot.
You are a Mystery to Me - Carlos has an accident. Cecil causes an accident for himself. Thus, side-by-side hospital beds and a front-row seat for your partner’s suffering. Hurt/Comfort. No matter how romantic matching hospital beds might be, both Carlos and Cecil are just happy that the other one is alright. One-shot.

New fics in The Librarians
If you want to follow the full rec list, you can find it here.
5 Secrets the Librarians Never Shared - Each of the librarians (and Guardian) has a secret they’ve never told. Friendship/Angst. A character study and convenient look at both the past and inner lives of the Librarians and their Guardian. One-shot.
and we would love again - It takes her five days to die. Angst/Tragedy. A character study (as well as a relationship study) of the LITs dealing with the loss of one of their own. Not the most accurate look at death, but it fits the show. One-shot.
Not a Llama (Probably) - “I told you not to touch the statue!” Stone snarled. Crack. As always, Ezekiel listens to no one and gets himself in a bind and expecting what may nor may not be a llama child. Normal Librarians hi-jinks ensue. Sometimes I just really love a well written crack fic and the Librarians is such a great fandom for them. One-shot.
one too many times - And if somebody hurts you, I wanna fight. But my hands been broken, one too many times. So I’ll use my voice, I’ll be so fucking rude. Words they always win, but I know I’ll lose. Fluff/Angst/Romance/Hurt/Comfort. Ezekiel has trouble dealing with the time loop. Although, “losing it somewhere around 230 repeats” is a bit more accurate. Jake is there to pick up the pieces. One-shot.
Trust and Consequences - Ezekiel doesn’t really trust his fellow LITs, and it’s becoming dangerous. Family/Hurt/Comfort. Ezekiel nearly gets himself killed because he doesn’t trust his teammates enough to tell them he’s been injured. Eve is furious and the rest of the LITs aren’t particularly happy either. One-shot.

*Updated* Tintin Recs
Organized by pairing (or gen) and then alphabetized by title. Summaries (which have been copied from their respective stories) and descriptions are provided. Notation at the end of the description indicates if a story is completed or a WIP.
Gen
Tintin and the Maze of the Minotaur - Tintin goes to do a report on a recent dig in Greece that uncovered a labyrinth, but there’s villains afoot and Tintin is driven into the maze to escape. Supernatural/Adventure. A case fic featuring ghosts, mythology, and really wonderful characterization. Fun read with the cutest line breaks. One-shot.
Wonderful - Sakharine had only ever seen beauty in model ships, until he meet Tintin. Even as the young reporter continuously thwarts his plans, and his advances, Sakharine grows more determined to have Tintin for his own. Drama. Following, Tintin, Haddock, and Sakharine’s POVs through a slight AU of the movieverse. Well, and very creepily written, this work explores a more base motivation behind Sakharine’s actions along with his greed. Warning for dark subject matter and threats of sexual assualt (nothing graphic, cause that is not how I roll). One-shot.
Tintin, Haddock Friendship
A Friend Indeed - Tintin is just a little sick. He’ll be fine, really he will. At least - that’s what he thinks. TintinXHaddock - comfort only - nothing more. Hurt/Comfort/Friendship. This is purely hurt/comfort with a good bit of Tintin being stubborn. I believe slash is implied, but I prefer to read it as friendship. One-shot.
Friendship and Adventure - In which Captain Haddock helps Tintin move to Marlinspike Hall and wants to talk about distracting ladies. Friendship. Haddock and Tintin discuss sexuality in a round-a-bout way. Am I reccing this because Tintin is asexual? Yes, yes I am. One-shot.
Of Ill Winds and Weathered Storms - As the Captain is pulled into another adventure, he grows concerned that Tintin might go too far for a story. “If I’ve learned anything from that lad,” Haddock said, taking another bite of his sandwich and talking with his mouth full, “it’s that there are places where a question mark is simply unacceptable. And that’s Tintin himself, I suppose.” Friendship/bromance. Drama/Friendship. A well written series with a few one-shots interspersed. The author does a wonderful job with the characerization. WIP, abandoned.
Our First Noel - Captain Haddock has recently moved into Marlinspike Hall, and has invited Tintin to spend Christmas with him. But what the Captain doesn’t realise is that for Tintin, Christmas means memories he may not want to face. Friendship/Hurt/Comfort. A cute series centered on Tintin and Haddock’s friendship. It’s sappy in places and the writing is good, but the plot is often tropey and unrealistic. Complete.
Small Blessings - After all these years, Tintin still manages to surprise Haddock- even when he’s not trying. Friendship. Haddock still has a lot of things to learn about Tintin. After all the adventures they’ve shared, neither have addressed their pasts all that much. Warning to past implied/referenced child abuse. One-shot.
The Secret of the Unicorn - Direct continuation of my Modern!Tintin story The Shooting Star. Now featuring pirates and an exciting fight! Modern!Tintin retelling of the classic Herge adventure. Mystery/Crime. The author is really good at modernizations and I really enjoy the series. Complete.
Tintin and the Alph Art An Imagining - My interpretation of the unfinished final Tintin story. Set in an updated, modern world complete with cool phones, gadgets and Facebook. I hope someone enjoys reading this as much as I’m enjoying writing it. Adventure/Mystery. A pretty well written modernization an take on the tribute comic to Herge. Complete.
Tintin and the Incident with the Mulish Cork - A hallucination. Based on page 30 of “Tintin and the Crabs with the Golden Claws”, yet set in the movieverse. Hurt/Comfort/Angst? A more intense version of the scene where Haddock hallucinates that Tintin is a bottle of alcohol and nearly throttles him. Drabblish, more of a novelization and slight continue of the comic scene, but still fun. One-shot.
Wound - As he recovers from his kidnapping at the hands of a no-name jewelry thief, Tintin realizes that not every story is one he will walk away from unscathed. The harder lesson yet: there is now someone he can lean on when walking isn’t an option. Friendship. Tintin has been on his own for so long that accepting another’s help feels foreign. But he finds that a friend’s help is exactly what he needs. One-shot.
Tintin/Haddock (I actually really dislike the pairing mainly because I prefer friendship between the two and the thought of romance between them kind of ruins some childhood memories. I usually try to read these as friendship)
Soul on Fire - Haddock must resuscitate Tintin after an incident in Cuba. Angst/Hurt/Comfort. PWP about Haddock having to rescue Tinin and the internal turmoil that ensues. Slash, but only in a few places (which I pointedly ignore when reading). One-shot.

New fics in Daredevil Recs
And here I go again with more Peter Parker recs. Gosh dang it, he’s a smol bean that needs protecting. Follow the full rec list here.
Matt, Peter Friendship
5 Times Matt Talks to Peter - And one time that he talks to Spider-man. Friendship/Fluff. Peter interns for Nelson and Murdock. Matt becomes rather attached, though he was definitely not ready to find out about the teen’s extracurricular activities. I really need more of those boys fighting crime or paperwork together. Complete.
avocado socks and burnt toast - “Oh, my GOD,” Karen said.
Peter blinked at her. Karen blinked at him, mouth hanging open. Matt sighed, and said, “Peter. Mask.” Said mask was still in the kitchen, where Foggy had wrestled it off of the young vigilante earlier, armed with disinfectant and cotton buds and a vicious need to nurture dumbass super-humans. Peter sank low on his haunches, until only his huge eyes and fluffy hair could be seen over the top of the couch. “Whoopsie.” Hurt/Comfort/Fluff. A fun little piece centering on Matt’s associates discovering Peter’s identity. Starring a hurt Matt and lil’ shit Peter. Very well written and characterized. One-shot.
Bet Your Bottom Dollar - “Rein in the evil, sugar. Pete, why don’t you go get your dad a cup of coffee before he commits homicide in broad daylight.” (Team Red goes on an early morning, undercover mission to catch a pedophile.). Adventure. Matt’s internal dialogue as he tries to get through this mission. In which Peter is a little shit, like always, and Daredevil has to remind his co-parent that murder is bad. Part of the Dumpster Fires Verse. One-shot.
but how do you know? - “How did you know you were gay, Double D?” Peter asked around Valentine’s Day, when Matt was having an existential crisis over whether to get Foggy an apology/Valentine’s Day present or whether to get two separate presents. (Matt fumbles his way through a gender/sexual identity talk.). Humor/Sexuality. Poor Matt just wants to go shopping and have his latest existential crises in peace, but Peter has questions. So many questions. Well done, and as an LGBT+ individual, very appreciated. Part of the Dumpster Fires Verse. One-shot.
No Lilo, Too Much Stitch - Peter Parker sitting on a couch. D-Y-I-N-G. (It’s okay, Daredevil is there. And Claire. And Tony Stark, but he mostly just worries.). Fluff/Humor/Hurt/Comfort. Stream-of-conscious fic told from an injured and concussed Peter’s POV. Very well done and the whole thing really felt like little shit Peter Parker. One-shot.
small potatoes - The road between ten and fifteen had been a slow descent into bad and then worse. (Matt had a hard time in foster-care. It affects the way he relates to Peter.). Angst. Introspective Matt trying to figure out why he worries about Peter constantly and eventually tying that back to his childhood experiences and how he wants to protect Peter from what he suffered. Both touching, tragic, and very realistic in portrayal of how childhood trauma can affect the concept of self. Also a great way to explore Matt’s background without unnecessary exposition. Part of the Dumpster Fires Verse. One-shot.
Strange Loyalties - Spider-Man gets a little in over his head when he accidentally ends up at the same crime scene as the Punisher. Drama/Angst. Frank saves Peter’s life and is predictably an ass about it. Matt is called in to take Peter off of his hands. Bro feels all around. Two-shot, complete.
The Vigilante Case - Peter Parker is having a bad day. He’s tired, he’s got too much homework, and there’s a price on his head. Money is a very good motivator, and half the city has turned on him practically overnight. But amid the easily-angered masses lies a greater danger, and soon Peter’s life hangs by a thread. It’s a good thing he’s so close to Hell’s Kitchen. He’s going to need a Devil to carry his soul. (Or: the one where Peter is injured and Matt takes him home.). Drama/Hurt/Comfort. Matt finds Peter shot and tries to keep him alive long enough for Claire to get to him. For her part, Claire is stuck trying to keep Matt calm and the kid alive throughout the whole reveal. The story is well written and fairly realistic, I appreciated that Peter’s injury was used to reveal his identity to Matt and vice versa instead of just being for hurt/comfort’s sake. Claire deserves a medal. One-shot.
Wildly Out of Wing - Daredevil’s not a team player. He’s barely cares that there are other people like him, working on the streets to keep their city safe - it’s just not important to him. Course that was before Spider-Man dropped into his part of the city and he figured out the kid was actually a kid. He’s not a team player but damned if he’s letting a kid do this alone - or at all. If he could just get Spider-Man to listen… Fluff/Friendship. After several failed attempts to get Peter to hang up his mask and focus on being a teenager, Matt decides the least he can do is train him to face what’s coming as a vigilante. And be the mentor he wished Stick was. One-shot.

New fic recs in Misc: Night at the Museum
Recently re-watched this with my family and, what can I say? I got hit hard by the must-have-fanfic-for-this feels. If you want to see the whole rec list, it’s here.
Jedidiah/Octavius
A Miniature Miniature - In a not so pleasant manner, Larry discovers that, by way of the tablet, Jedediah & Octavius are expecting a little bundle of joy. Fluff. Cute, overly sweet, entirely unrealistic, but I love it. I’m reccing this at 1 in the morning because I recently found out I can’t have kids and I ashfgkgl, I need this, okay? One-shot.
Cornflowers - Octavius contracts Hanahaki, which causes people whose romantic feelings are not requited, to cough up flowers. Eventually this leads to death, unless the person of their affections returns this love. Angst/Hurt/Comfort. Sic!fic coupled with the boys being emotionally constipated, oblivious, and down right idiots. I enjoyed the pacing and setting even if parts of the story were sappy. One-shot.
Together or Not at All - I mean, seriously, how did they get back to the Museum from where the truck crashed? Angst/Fluff. A movie tag about how in the heck those two made it back to the Museum by sunrise. Also a wonderfully well-done look into the give and take of their relationship. One-shot.
While Rome Burned - In which a new addition (Emperor Nero) to the Roman diorama causes serious trouble for our two favorite miniatures. Hurt/Comfort. Nero complicated matters and nearly comes between Jedidiah and Octavius. Nearly. Cue everyone being brave idiots. One-shot.

New fic in Man From U.N.C.L.E
Follow the rest of this rec list here.
Found You in the Nick of Time - That missing scene from the movie (which has been done numerous times before) where Illya finds Napoleon with Rudi after being tortured in the chair. Hurt/Comfort. As it says on the tin, another movie tag for *that* scene. Short, sweet, maybe a bit sappy in places, but definitely one to check off the whump box. Can be read as pre-slash. One-shot.

*Updated* Dragon Prince Recs
So I am jumping into this brand new fandom fairly early (for me at least). As such, please excuse this work in progress reccing space as I update and sort through the fics as they come in. And you better give me more Harrow because damn he only lasted three episodes and I require more.
Organized by pairing (or gen) and then alphabetized by title. Summaries (which have been copied from their respective stories) and descriptions are provided. Notation at the end of the description indicates if a story is completed or a WIP.
Gen
a brother’s burden - This was not the first time Callum had almost died for his little brother. It wouldn’t be the last, either. Family/Angst/Hurt/Comfort. Callum was very ready to give his life for Ezran and this story explores why that might be and how that might have occurred in the past. The writing and dialogue are clunky in places and some of the action doesn’t make sense, but I enjoyed the story nontheless. One-shot.
A Snuffed Out Spell(caster) - “I’m sorry,” the elf whispered. To her credit, she sounded genuinely remorseful before she lifted her arm, blade glinting as it swings forward. And Callum knew no more. OR. If Rayla swung a little faster. Drama. Rayla succeeds at killing Callum. Only the first chapter is up thus far and mostly just reccing to read later when it’s complete. WIP, ongoing.
Cardboard Crowns - Callum, adjusting to becoming the King’s adopted son, and the family he makes there. Fluff. The pre-canon adventures of Callum finding a family with the King and his brother. Very cute and well explored themes. WIP, series of one-shots with no unresolved story arcs.
His Protege - Runaan never meant to train Rayla to be an assassin, but unfortunately, it happened, and of course, it came with feelings too. Fluff. A look at Rayla’s past and how she came under Runaan’s tutelage. Using Runaan’s POV really helped the emotional impact of this story. One-shot.
little, and broken (but still good) - family: a triptych (or family: separate and overlapping. They can’t heal all your wounds, but they can help.). Hurt/Comfort/Fluff. Variations on the theme of family. Mostly concerning Rayla, Callum, and Ezran in their original families but also as a found family of their own. I really enjoyed this as an exploration in backgrounds, characterizations, and motivations. One-shot.
Mission in a Bottle - Again. And again. And again. How many times would Rayla have to do this for? Blood stain after blood stain, failure after failure. Trapped in the same torturous day of death. How can she break free from the eternity that is this one hellish day? It was the bands’ fault, she was certain of that. Ever since she tied them around her wrists with the other assassins, she’d been running around in circles, repeating the day of the mission to kill Prince Ezran. What was she doing wrong? Angst. After killing Callum believing him to be Prince Ezran, Rayla becomes trapped in a time loop. With no direction and stuck living the same day over and over again, Rayla is forced to try different plans to get free. WIP, ongoing.
Harrow being an awesome dad
still i pray (to what i cannot see) - “Don’t go,” he hears a quiet, fervent voice near whisper, and it takes him a moment to realise it came from his own mouth. His cheeks burn with humiliation, and there’s apologies on the tip of his tongue, already on the way of tripping out of his mouth.
“I’m not going anywhere,” says Harrow, cutting off Callum’s awkward stuttering. He looks surprised, eyes wide and eyebrows raised, but there’s a smile playing around the corners of his mouth, and it helps calm some of the embarrassment Callum’s feeling. Fluff/Angst. Harrow visits Callum when he’s sick, worried for his stepson and hoping to help him recover. Callum, for his part, isn’t sure how to react to the King acting so much like a father. One-shot.
though in the dark i say - There are times when he forgets to feel like an outsider in this family. Fluff/Family. Callum takes care of a sick Ezran while questioning his place within their family. Harrow takes care of both of them, because they are both his sons. One-shot.
tripping on your good intentions - When an assassin threatens the peace and sanctity of his father’s birthday, Callum reacts without thought. He is the step-son, the replaceable prince, and so he will do everything he can to save his father’s life. Even if it means sacrificing his own. Hurt/Comfort/Angst. Callum jumps in front of the blade meant for the King. Harrow doesn’t understand why. Ezran just wants him to be okay. And Callum believes himself expendable. Three-shot, ongoing.
Brotherly Callum, Ezran
Morality is Relative - In the time since they had set out on their journey, Callum got used to running from angry mobs with pitchforks and the occasional knight that wanted to kill Rayla and Zym and ‘set the princes free’. But those never end with more than a few choice words, a lot of running and sometimes watching Rayla kick butt. A professional bounty hunter who claims to work for the King and who was sent to kill him and Ezran is new. Especially when he manages to capture one of the brothers and intends to use him to lure the other out. Hurt/Comfort. The brothers are ambushed while Rayla is out hunting and have to do their best to defeat the intruder and stay alive. The fight scene is exciting, easy to follow, and intense. Looking forward to the next update. WIP, ongoing.
Dungeon Bros Gren and Runaan
Cellmates - It is possible to learn from your enemies, provided you are both chained up in different rooms without seeing each other and are only allowed to argue. Friendship/Drama. What happens behind the scenes as two people stuck in captivity together try to cope with each other and their surroundings. I really like the idea of Gren and Runaan at least somewhat coming to a peaceable agreement given that they were stuck in the same dungeon for a while. Complete.
Coins in a Bag - We’re just peas in a pod, aren’t we? You know. Peas in a pod. Stuck in the same boat? Two guys that… got captured.” In which Commander Gren and Runaan learn they have more in common than they thought. Being imprisoned together is just the beginning. Of what, neither is sure. Drama. Gren didn’t get to his position without some tactical sense. And he uses it. Runaan is along for the ride. Some nice flashbacks that help flesh out their backgrounds. WIP, ongoing.
Compassion - Gren knows he should leave the moonshadow elf to rot in prison, but he can’t. So when he’s given the opportunity to escape, he takes the elf with him. Friendship/Romance. A cute one-shot told in snippets as the two cellmates turn friends and then turn lovers. One-shot.
Wife and Kids - Gren tries to make small talk with Runaan. Drabble. A short snippet of a conversation that takes place between the two dungeonmates. Even though they are enemies, they have a home and a family outside of these stone walls. One-shot.
The Wyrd Siblings Soren and Claudia
one step to the side - Soren and Claudia tell each other everything - and their Dad doesn’t know what’s hit him. Drama. Soren and Claudia mount a rescue mission, a real one. And possibly start an insurrection on the way. I really love the tone of this story, the writing is well done and fits the characters and setting well. WIP, ongoing.

Static Shock Recs
Organized by pairing (or gen) and then alphabetized by title. Summaries (which have been copied from their respective stories) and descriptions are provided. Notation at the end of the description indicates if a story is completed or a WIP.
Gen
Forgiven Now - New developments in Richie’s powers present a new adversary: one that stems from within his own mind. Static strives to keep up as Gear and the Justice League struggle to save Dakota’s brightest from the assault of his own thoughts. Drama/Friendship. Richie’s health is threatened by his mind and the Justice League is called in to help him. I really enjoyed the portrayal of the Justice League and Ritchie’s relations with them after his possession by Brainiac. WIP, sadly abandoned but still good.
The Best Laid Plans - Not even the best laid plans are flawless, and when Ritchie disrupts the plans of a criminal things quickly go from bad to worse. Adventure. Richie has the worst luck and manages to get himself captured and shot up with a rare, little known drug. Static doesn’t know what to do and has to enlist the help of Superman and a team of experimental doctors in Metropolis. WIP, abandoned.
The One Eyed Man: King of the Blind - “I don’t want to fight; I just want to talk. After all, a cat may look upon a king.” Richie’s only question was whether he was the cat or the king. Action/Hurt/Comfort. Richie gets kidnapped again and has to figure his way out. Virgil just wants his friend back. And backpack is out for murder. Complete.
Static/Richie (why are all my pairings strange or gay? I’m asexual, this doesn’t make sense)
August and Everything After - This is the story of how Richie Foley fell in love with his best friend and never ever told him. Romance. Richie and Virgil try to figure out life after high school. And they somehow get together without talking about it. Good use of multiple POVs. One-shot.
Castaway - When his dad kicks him out, Richie knows where he’s going. The whole thing wouldn’t be that bad, except that it’s snowing, and he wasn’t thinking clearly enough to grab shoes on his way out. Hurt/Comfort. After being thrown out, there’s only one place Richie knows wheres to go. An exploration of found family and young love. Two-shot, complete.
Family - Thanks to the HomeEd project, Virgil and Richie are forced to play ‘Family’ for a week… Humor. Poor Virgil and Richie get stuck raising a “baby” together in HomeEd while also trying to keep their relationship secret. Trying to survive highschool, bang babies, and a crying lump of plastic all at once. Very creative, aware, and characterized. The idea of using both journal entries and conventional narrative to explore both characters’ feelings and motivations was well executed and made the story all the more enjoyable. One-shot.
It’s A Tradition - Sometimes you have to live with your mistakes. Sometimes you get a second chance. Romance. Richie has spent the last ten years in a vegetative coma, Virgil still visits when he can, especially at Christmas. He’s given the gift of Christmas time travel to enjoy a last day with Richie all over again. Sappy, very Christmas tropey, and still written well. Also a nice look at the boys grown up. Complete.
Spark - When your someone is all you have. Adventure. Static and Gear go up against Ragtag and the seductive call of enhanced powers. Includes superhero boyfriends, slice-of-life crime fighting, brief hurt/comfort, and outing their identities to a pissed Sharon. Complete.
Summertime - This wasn’t the way Richie had planned to come out. Romance/Adventure. Richie loses his cool one day and accidentally comes out to Virgil in the middle of an argument. Miscommunication, hurt feelings, and generally stupidity follow before a case manages to bring the two back together. Loved the plot and the no-nonsense Sharon in this story. Complete.

*Updated* The Librarian Recs
Don’t mind me casually logging back into tumblr to rec more fanfic after being out for a while.
Enjoy some updated fic recs for The Librarians (which I recently got my spouse addicted to). Still mad that this show gave me so many emotions. If you want to follow the full rec list, here’s the link.
Gen
Anytime - Episode tag to “And the Fangs of Death”. What was Ezekiel feeling and thinking at the end? Hurt/Comfort/Family. Ezekiel’s thoughts while facing the prospect of losing himself completely and the surety that his friends will do what they have to do for him. One-shot.
Bite the Bullet - When Ezekiel’s shot during a mission, will his family be able to save him in time? Ezekiel whump. Hurt/Comfort/Angst. What is says on the tin, pure Ezekiel whump and his team worrying after their resident master thief. It’s short and the composition isn’t the best, but the writing is alright. Three-shot, complete.
Escapades - Jenkins is careful when he drops the Australian onto the bed, moving to haul the blankets back and over the weary figure thats curling around one of the fluffier pillows. “Now, sleep, and hopefully tomorrow you’ll be well enough to explain to me what he hell you were doing getting shot at.” He snips.
“Fine…but we n’ver tell Baird bout this, eh?” Ezekiel mutters, eyes slipping closed as exhaustion crashes over him. Hurt/Comfort/Friendship. Ezekiel manages to get himself shot and poisoned. Jenkins is there to pick up the pieces. Lots of snark, a little bit of swearing, and tons of angst to go around. One-shot.
Ezekiel Jones and the Silver Coin - When a wealthy woman is murdered by a thief who broke into her home to steal her most prized possession, the Librarians are sent to Dublin, Ireland to investigate, despite the appearance of it being a normal theft and murder. After their first run in with the monster, everything changes for the Librarians’ own thief as he begins to second guess his decision to become a Librarian. Fantasy/Hurt/Comfort. A series centering around the search for an artifact and Ezekiel’s own personal battles as he meets up with unexpected and unwelcome people from his past. I always enjoy stories that look to flesh out what the Librarians-in-training were like before the Library called them. Complete.
Flight Risk - Ezekiel never meant to do a lot of things: Get caught. Get caught by Flynn. Have Baird find his file, etc… He also never meant to let a sad looking gargoyle steal his heart. But you know, accidents happen. Fluff. Another Stumpy fix-it, because dammit guys, that gargoyle and Ezekiel deserved better! One-shot.
Home - A life-threatening incident in the library makes Cassandra and Jake realize just how much Ezekiel means to them and how much they mean to Ezekiel. In the after-math, Cassandra must learn to overcome her guilt and Jake must learn to appreciate those around him. Hurt/Comfort/Family. An accident injures Ezekiel and forces those around them to consider how much the thief has changed and how much he has changed them. A fairly standard use of hurt/comfort to force emotional introspection and touchy-feely confessions, but still a good read. One-shot.
In My Nature - A collection of stories fleshing out my ideas for the mysterious origins of Ezekiel Jones. Not based on any spoilers just my imagination. Drama/Angst. A series of stand-alone one-shots that each tell of a different origin for the resident thief. Some of these are very creative and I really appreciate the diversity of examples and the move away from the tropic “tragic past” that so many of these characters invariably end up with. WIP, a series of one-shots with no unresolved story arcs.
The Boy and his Gargoyle - Jacob notices how Ezekiel feels about Stumpy’s demise and recruits Cassandra to do something about it. Because someone needed to write this. Family/Fantasy. Poor Stumpy was honestly a really cute edition to the show and I really enjoyed seeing Ezekiel care about a magical item so much. The story is definitely s Stumpy fix-it that serves to showcase the friendship of Ezekiel, Cassandra, and Stone. One-shot.
The Feeling is Mutual - Ezekiel shut his eyes as the pressure and pain in his head began to ebb away. Ezekiel had to admit, he was a little disappointed. When his mind had first hatched the haphazard idea, a large part of him had been hoping he’d lose those memories. But, he supposed, nothing ever worked out like that. Just his luck. Hurt/Comfort/Family. In the process of defeating a magical creature, Ezekiel reveals to his team that he still remembers the events of the video game loop. In turn, his team helps him deal with his memories. One-shot.
Ezekiel, Stone Friendship
And the Returned Favor - Ezekiel sneezed. This, in and of itself, probably wouldn’t have been very dramatic. At least, not for normal people. Ezekiel Jones was not normal people. He did nothing by half measures; if he couldn’t do something right, then he wasn’t going to make a point to do it at all. Hurt/Comfort/Drama. Ezekiel gets sick, and then nearly kills himself fighting off an intruder in the library. Or, the time everyone finally realized that the resident thief was a self-sacrificing bitch. A good story with a really weird paragraph structure. Seriously, it seems the majority of this story is one sentence paragraphs. One-shot.
Hero Material - “What do you mean the amulet could kill me!” Ezekiel is not having a good day. Hurt/Comfort. Ezekiel nearly sacrifices himself trying to save his friends and he is not happy about it the entire way through. Poor Stone has to try and couch him through the ordeal without losing his friend. One-shot.
Of Oubliettes and Other Obstacles - Broken bones, a concussion, and a hole in the ground. Yeah, no, this assignment was completely awful. Or: Jake and Ezekiel tumble into an oubliette and have to keep each other alive until help comes. Shouldn’t be a problem, right? Lots of whump and hurt/comfort abound! Hurt/Comfort. Pretty much what is says on the tin, Jake tries his best to keep everyone alive and the situation as under control as he can manage. Purely hurt/comfort and friendship for a rainy day. One-shot.
Remind You of Someone You’ve Never Met - Ezekiel’s been doing well, all things considered, with the aftermath of the time-loop. Honestly, a bad day was bound to happen. Just his luck it was in the middle of a case. Drama. Ezekiel has a flash back and Jake coaches him through it. This story highlights Ezekiel confronting his memories and making small-steps towards acknowledging that they are issues and that he isn’t alone. I really appreciated that this story didn’t set out to fix everything and simply dealt with that first foot forward. Two-shot.
Running Hot - Jake and Ezekiel get a new understanding of one another. Of course, it’s brought on by intense fevers and a shower. Not a pairing but if you squint I suppose. Hurt/Comfort/Friendship. An illness helps to expose Ezekiel’s backstory and his vulnerability causes Stone to reconsider some of his opinions regarding the other librarian. Not a bad use of hurt/comfort, even if it is a fairly standard use. One-shot.
Jake/Ezekiel
And the Behavioral Side Effects of Lycanthropy - After being cured of temporary lycanthropy, Ezekiel has some lasting behavioral side effects. The compulsion to chase balls, the compulsion to chase cars, being on edge for no reason. Oh, and not being able to sleep alone anymore. But Jake’s got a fix for that. In a friend way. Just a bro helping a bro. Fluff. This is solidly pre-slash, but the boys are adorable, confused, and just trying to figure out cuddling in the aftermath of Ezekiel’s near transformation. I appreciate the little touches of Ezekiel having to remind himself he’s human and not a wolf. And Jake’s ‘no-homo’ attitude even though it is very much homo is hilarious. One-shot.
While the Bars of Sunset Hold - Sure, he might still be able to be Ezekiel Jones: World Class Thief, but what if he was no longer good enough to be Ezekiel Jones: Librarian? Hurt/Comfort. Ezekiel is tortured and is left wondering whether or not he can continue to be a Librarian in his current state. Jake clears up any confusion and shares a heartfelt moment with the “World Class Thief.“ One-shot.
Jake/Ezekiel/Cassandra
And the Proximity Addiction - When they start dating, Ezekiel isn’t a fan of touching. That changes, and boy, when it does, it changes. Romance. A fluffy one-shot concerning Ezekiel’s proclivity for cuddling and how his partners view it. Told through a conversation between Eve and Cassandra over milkshakes. One-shot.
Charged - With the tilt of a head the evening star, Venus, came into view. She looked down at the three tangled hearts on earth with her bright shine and pride. Or: Sunsets and Subtext. Romance. A slice of life short story about the relationship between Jake, Ezekiel, and Cassandra as seen through an evening of joy. One-shot.
Getting Warmer - Ezekiel Jones doesn’t lose to the cold. But Jake and Cassandra might just lose him to it. Hurt/Comfort/Angst. During a mission, Ezekiel nearly dies from hypothermia. Jake and Cassandra are forced to think over his stupidly self-sacrificing ways and what they would do without their friend. Eve just wonders when they will all stop being so blind and just get together already. One-shot.
The Best Kind of Medicine - Ezekiel has a cold and the other Librarians come to the rescue. Fluff. Seriously just reccing this story for these lovable tree idiots and the their sleepovers/snuggles. One-shot.
Tread Lightly - “Everyone wants a taste,” He tells them, laughing it off as if he couldn’t care either way. “But nobody really wants the bill.” Romance/Angst. Jake and Cassandra want to bring Ezekiel into the fold of their relationship, Ezekiel is unsure how to move forward. A tender and in character story of how Ezekiel is brought into Jake and Cassandra’s romance. One-shot.
We’ll Catch You While We Can - Each of them have different relationships with personal space. Fitting them all together is a little weird, a little rocky. But they figure it out, in the end. Fluff/Angst/Hurt/Comfort. A look into the librarians’ past, emotions, and developing relationship through the lens of physical touch. This was honestly a very clever framing device that allows for the reader to engage with both the characters and the unfolding relationship on a similar theme. It’s cute and heartwarming and angsty in all the right places. Three-shot, complete.

*Updated* Tintin Recs
I first discovered Tintin in one of my many outings to the public library. Their copies of Herge’s beloved (and controversial) comics were older, worn, and a few were missing from the collection, but what was there was enough to spark my curiosity and a lifelong love of all things Tintin. Follow the full rec list here.
Organized by pairing (or gen) and then alphabetized by title. Summaries (which have been copied from their respective stories) and descriptions are provided. Notation at the end of the description indicates if a story is completed or a WIP.
Gen
The author does a wonderful job with the characterization.
The author is very good at modernizations and I thoroughly enjoy the series.
Complete.
One-shot.

RWBY Volume 6 Fic Recs
Volume 6 has completely messed me up guys. So much angst and backstory and grim. Ugh.
Expect some Bumblebee recs to follow. I’ve only been yelling at my spouse for the better part of a year about how they just need to get together already.
All that Matters - In which the recent events are too much for Oscar to handle. Hurt/Comfort/Angst. After the events of volume 6 episode 4, poor Oscar has to deal with the consequences of everyone’s actions. It’s important to remember that Oscar and Ozpin are two different souls and that the former does not deserve to be treated like the latter. One-shot.
Faultlines - “I’m sorry,” he gasps, between sobs that shake his shoulders and struggles to take a breath. Oscar is silent, he realizes. But he can feel the boy’s pity, and that might be worse. Angst. Ozpin has an emotional breakdown after the ordeal with Jin. As much as I’m mad at everything Oz hid, the whole revelation of his backstory certainly made me appreciate his complexities. One-shot.
The Hero’s Road - Though every reincarnation was new, their role was always the same. This time around, Ozpin was set to be the guide, Oscar the driving force and, as always, Ozma was the spirit. Things just… weren’t exactly going as planned right now. [Set sometime after Volume 6, Episode 4]. Friendship. Ozpin takes Oscar through his backstory and to reconcile the boy with the knowledge and memory he now houses. I was really hoping to see more Ozpin and Oscar interaction after the Jin episode instead of what happened. Oh well, I’ll just read fanfiction until Rooster Teeth fixes this situation. One-shot.

New FMA: Brotherhood Recs
The Memories and Scars - Riza never meant for him to see. She never meant to burden him with that. But there is no shortage of scars among them. So at least in that, she’s not alone. Friendship, Fluff. While recovering from the Promised Day, Alphonse accidentally discovers the secret Riza has held on her back for so many years. One-shot.
what the water gave me - One rainy day after a mission, Ed’s automail gets infected and gives him strife. Luckily, he is surrounded by many exasperated people who care deeply for him. Family/Hurt/Comfort. A sickfic that’s actually pretty good. I also appreciated the idea of found family. Two-shot, complete.
