Orbital path of asteroid near miss in 2002. Yah, that’s how close we came to nuclear winter and possible total destruction.
#I remember seeing this asteroid as a kid#it was around Valentine's Day#it was SO CLEAR#one of the coolest things I'd ever seen

The “friend zone” and unrequited love are not the same thing. Unrequited love is, “I love you, you don’t love me in that same way, I am sad about that.” The “friend zone” is, “I love you, you don’t love me in that same way, you have therefore wronged me.”
Unrequited love is, “My unilateral crush is my problem.” The “friend zone” is, “My unilateral crush is your problem.”

I can’t believe that the sacredness of shared meals is not well known???
Mealtime is an extremely important cultural and social ritual. There are psychological benefits for cooking for other people, and serving a meal stabilizes the emotions between the provider and the receiver. Cooking with your partner, like accomplishing any task together, strengthens relationships. Eating together strengthens communal bonds and helps with mental health. Sharing the same food with someone else builds trust, cooperation, and a sense of connectivity. It’s a shame how in our fast paced society we don’t value the importance of regularly breaking bread with one another
#sometimes#i get annoyed that making dinner takes so long with my partner#but then I read posts like this and I'm like this is what it's all about

I think mine is a very lucky case. Within my friends and family I have never had anyone who has been upset about my sexuality since secondary school.

If you are a vegetarian I totally support you and will make you non-meaty foods
If you are a vegetarian that doesn’t let me eat meat in front of you I will organize a hotdog eating contest in front of your house
#not a vegetarian but eat a largely plant-based diet#I support this message#don't pressure your ideals onto someone else#it will backfire#bc it's just rude#full stop

Please, reblog! IIt’s called self defense. Apart from having here, in the US, one of the highest cases of homicide and rape in the world and high rate of GBV, think about how this could help your mother or sister

Don't apologise Sunny. I'm glad you said this. I'm sick of seeing "fans" act like this. I'm sick of people defaming and hurting show creators and actors bc they didn't get what they want.
These "fans" need to start apologizing and realizing that what they say has consequences. They are not entitled to threaten people in media bc they were unhappy with the content. It. Is Not. Acceptable.
Have I vented about shows? Absolutely. Have I said "I wish they hadn't done that"? Absolutely. Have I ever taken out my frustrations with a show on a person that worked on it? No. Never.
This is the #1 reason I don't contribute to fandoms anymore. The "fans".
If you attack people on social media about a show/movie/fanfiction/fanart they created and how it doesn't live up to your standards...YOU are the problem. YOU need to stop. And if you think I'm talking about you and feeling attacked: I AM talking to you.
the excuses are rolling in: they would never see it anyway, we were just venting, we were joking.
no……guys, that’s not venting. venting is talking in private with a friend about something, without being hateful and wishing harm on others. It’s not defaming someone’s name in a place where one search on twitter brings up a mass of hate and death threats instead of their brilliant achievements and actual relevant information.
joking is meant to actually be funny you know, and not at the expense of other people or jeopardising the safety of other people especially women creators. yes you’re allowed to be unhappy with things and feel upset by comments made, but that’s still your personal subjective opinion.
and furthermore - dealing with that disatisfaction of an interview quote in an unhealthy way by literally resorting to making violent threats and wishing actual harm on a woman in animation who GAVE YOU this show is……… terrible.
sorry but there’s literally no excuse anyone can type out to justify it. do better.

I wonder how many people on here that have reblogged those “I treat retail workers/public service workers with RESPECT because I’m not HUMAN GARBAGE” type posts have also endorsed or straight up taken part in sending death threats/suicide bait/unrelenting harassment to the people that make their media
#THIS#I can honestly say that it doesn't even cross my mind to attack people who make or are in a show that has disappointed me#how entitled do you think you are?#people make content and they don't have to answer to you
