[…] “One of the most important things we can do is build up our capacity to organize and take action in our local regions. But in order to do that, we need to build and strengthen our networks. This means cultivating face to face relationships built on trust, sharing resources, and supporting our shared struggles in different locations.”

Whatever happens tomorrow, it’s likely to be a mess in the near future, and possibly far longer. Keep your cool. Recognize that it is a collective burden, that it’s not just you in it, and that putting yourself in a compromised position will not end it any sooner. Remember that everything we say and do is being recorded and viewed from a potential future in which a fascist Trump administration is on its state-backed revenge tour.
History will sort it. Eventually. Most important thing is for you to survive, whether its fascists and oligarchs contesting results or the beginning of the ultimate decay of America’s so-called ‘democracy’ and ‘rule of law.’ Many will take a stand, and make a stand, for their values, for the law, or for others. Save it. Save it for when it will make the biggest difference. Most people only get one good one in within a dictatorship. Stay. Calm.

[…] “The common pleas court judge Angelo Foglietta – ruling after Musk’s lawyers said the winners are not chosen by chance – did not immediately give a reason for the ruling.”

[…] “Musk began quietly subsidizing right-wing political organizations two years ago and only endorsed Trump in July. As a political player with practically unlimited resources and media influence, he’s just beginning to flex his influence. He may be a relative novice in this kind of political arena, but the people he deals with are not. And Putin, an experienced practitioner, seems to be getting something for his efforts.”

[…] “The incident comes more than two years after Iran was rocked by nationwide protests after the death in custody of Mahsa Amini, an Iranian Kurdish woman who had been arrested for an alleged breach of the dress code. The protests, during which some women defied authorities to cast off their headscarves, were later violently curbed by authorities.”

[…] ““If I found out Emma was going to the voting booth and pulling the lever for Harris, that’s the same thing as having an affair,” Watters said on air Wednesday in response to the ad.”

Very inspiring. I think it moved a little. And I’m all about the possibility of catching women on the rebound after hitting up the abortion clinic. Just remember how little such marches accomplished last time around. Remember that chanting, singing, slogan-filled daylight love fests are, at best, advertisements and networking opportunities. At worst, you’re doing little more than feeding participant information into the machine, and demonstrating the practical upper limit on your pushback.
[…] “Demonstrators carried posters and signs through city streets, chanting slogans such as: “We won’t go back!””
