If they can't pay through a normal channel they're a scammer 99.99% of the time.
Tumblr media
Sorry for double posting but APPARENTLY those commission scammers have showed up on Tumblr at least for the first time for me.
For those who don’t know what I am talking about, there were/are commission scams going on in Instagram and even places like Artstation where people would pretend to be interested in your work and try to commission a pet or portrait for the sake of trying to get your bank details. Here’s how to (somewhat) sniff them out:
1- They don’t seem to be an average customer/ person that would be involved in your fandom, or has a blank template for an account or don’t even follow you.
2- They ask you to draw a portrait or a pet picture either for themselves or their children/family.
3- They promise to overpay you (in the hundreds) and do not listen to you even if you firmly state the price is cheaper.
4- They are constantly asking for your email name, or private details regarding things like banking details or passwords or other private information others should not know.
5- They try and over reassure you they mean no harm, try to guilt you into giving them the info, or become aggressive over you not giving them what they want.
What should you do if you come across one of these guys? My best advice is to block and report. Sadly these people jump account to account so there isn’t really much to do other than spread this info to prevent artists from being scammed.

let's recap what we've learned about the United States in the last few days.
things that are terrorism:
allegedly shooting a healthcare CEO whose company generated more pure profit (not revenue, profit) in a year than the GDP of 94 countries, exclusively by denying coverage to people who pay for it
a 42-year-old mother of 2 using the wrong combination of 7 words during a heated conversation with a call center employee at a health insurance company who was in the process of denying her health coverage.
things that are not terrorism:
mass shooting in a Black church to incite a race war
going to a BLM protest specifically to kill protestors
a neo-nazi running over a crowd of people, killing a woman
targeting and killing 23 latinos in an el paso, texas walmart
killing 12 people in a theatre, shooting 58 others, rigging your apartment with explosives
a QAnon groyper killing 7 and shooting ~50 at a 4th of July parade
killing 3 people and shooting several others at a Planned Parenthood in defense of the unborn
stalking someone relentlessly and then killing them and their child despite months of the victim making police reports
any one of the 1,200 murders committed by US police yearly, the vast majority being minorities
tightening your border while ~100 immigrants (including children) drown every year in the Rio Grande
United Healthcare killing an unnknowable number of elderly people by using faulty AI to deny medically necessary coverage
Aetna killing a woman by refusing to cover her cancer care
Blue Cross killing a 6-year-old by denying her appendicitis surgery
Cigna killing a 17-year-old child by denying her liver transplant
the pharmaceutical industry killing half a million people with opioids in the name of producing revenues in 2023 that rivaled the GDPs of countries like Spain, Mexico, and Australia.
the United States killing 45,000 people a year because they can't access health coverage
make sure you keep this guide handy the next time you find yourself interacting with your insurance company or any other millionaire, billionaire, or an individual who is part of a protected class such as a CEO or president of a corporation.

When you kill a healthcare ceo, it’s terrorism. When someone shoots your kid in elementary school, it’s thoughts and prayers for like a week and then they move on. It truly shows the fact that terrorism is whatever the american government wants it to mean.

Remember earlier this year when Boeing very clearly had a whistleblower executed? And law enforcement didn't even look for anyone or release any info about it or anything?
People keep comparing Luigi Mangione's case to the subway murderer who got off because of systemic eugenics, but I think there's something more apt about the fact that a CEO had someone executed in recent memory, with zero attempts to find a culprit, while they spared no expense at all to find (and probably frame, it's beginning to look like) someone who shot a CEO. It's always fine to slaughter if you're rich, but if you kill the rich, they will hunt you down.

If it was more straightforward than House of Leaves I'd read this book.
I've started HoL like four times and I just can't get into it.
Tumblr media
I love the idea of a roomba topography map being the jumping on point for a liminal horror story. House of Leaves II: Roomba.

One of my favorite quotes I like to pull out when someone asks if Starfield is worth playing.
Tumblr media
There's just nothing interesting going on in Starfield. It has the least interesting setting, least interesting companions, least interesting story (yes, even compared to the Bethesda fallouts), etc of any Bethesda game I've played.
It's mashed potatoes, no gravy, but the cook didn't even bother to finish mashing all of the lumps out.
steam winter sale approaching so im just asking. can starfield at least be made fun with mods or does it suck so bad that the modding scene sucks too

David Xanatos from Gargoyles is one of the greatest villains of all time for a lot of reasons but the one I like most is this one quote in the first scene he appears in. He's talking with his assistant about relocating a haunted castle onto his New York skyscraper (he's extra like that) and he's told that it might be difficult to find workers willing to dismantle a haunted castle. He claps back with "Pay a man enough and he'll walk barefoot into hell."
David Xanatos believes in the power of fair pay. We see that throughout the series, he's got security guys who are 100% willing to take on a nine foot tall Scottish demon because they know that if they get so much as a bruise they're gonna ride to the hospital in a Ferrari and be able to pick up a diamond necklace for the wife on the way home.
He might ask his employees to reverse engineer a cursed amulet, but those paystubs make it all worth it.

Hand painted covers are the best!
Tumblr media
They need to go back to the pulpy novel covers. This cover is 🔥 compared to the unsexy ones they use today.
