i would read you all my poetry
spill my soul out for you
prick my fingers with a pen
and write with my blood and bruise
and i would give you all i had
just to watch you throw it all away
and i'd whisper "i'm sorry"
as i beg you to stay

tell me that you could
see yourself falling
in love with me again
and i will write you
a hundred poems
telling you how i never stopped.
how i tried but failed.
how i stopped trying so easily.
i never stopped writing
about you, either.
look closely, my love.
you can tell which poems
are about you. i all but
titled them with your name.

It Wasn’t You
It didn’t hurt because
you betrayed me, because you didn’t
It didn’t hurt because
it didn’t work, because when has it ever
It didn’t hurt because
my ego died a gruesome death, because it did
It didn’t hurt because
I cried quietly on the car ride home
Because I did cry, quietly, and to myself
It didn’t hurt because
Your name became a forever lodged bullet
in my never healing heart
It hurt
Because I wanted it to be you
I wanted it to be you
And it wasn’t

i’d let you ruin me
i’d let you tear me down and build me back up again however you see fit
i’d let you do whatever you desired
i just want to feel something
i just want to feel anything
please don’t leave

Siren-Moon
The ocean reflects the pearl moon
As the siren purrs her angelic tune.
She beckons you under the water—
Take the hand of Poseidon’s daughter
And melt into the glass sea;
Allow the ocean to set you free—
Free from death; free from pain;
Free from life’s constant strain.
Let the water cradle your tired bones—
Join her in the deepest unknowns.
