Halloween 2024!

This year's halloween drawing is indeed an interior illustration. However it is a little blurry as my camera on my phone is still very tried x'D However I'm happy with it overall. Nothing special, but well, Happy Halloween everyone! I hope you all enjoy it :)

The Chinese lantern plant is one of my favourite flowers... or plants... haha. And for me the bright orange colour gives the perfectautumn vibe. THis is a full watercolour painting :3

Hello friends! I'm finally done with the fiant painting of Mikazuki Munechika on his giant lotus flowers! In Spring, one of my colleagues who was leaving for a new fulltime job gifted me this huge 150 cm x 50 cm canvas with the comment: here, paint something pretty. He also said that there are too few of my own drawings/paintings in my office, so here we go. I started painting this in June and finished it today. Fair enough I do have taken looonger breaks inbetween and I also repainted stuff and oh, there was a lot :P

Here have some detailed shots. I'm also very sorry that my camera on the phone isn't able to catch good photos anymore :/ It's too old for this, I guess. I wished I could take better photos of him, because he really looks more beautiful on canvas x'D

Just for your information - the cresent moon in the sky is also layered with glow in the dark gel, so that means it glows a few hours during the night when it got loaded with sun- or artificial light :3

There is a drawing contest at our local nerd store (the online department) so I was finishing their prompt for "cozy home activities". It's all I like when the weather is showing the typical Western Norway-vibes with heavy rain and storm. Who doesn't like to get cat cuddles while reading? Well, I can just say that I love all of that.

It's fall season and the time of change! There is a family of mushrooms just enjoying the growth until Winter comes. I just really enjoy painting and drawing fall related things. I mean I like Autumn, at least partly because the nature is really getting pretty, but the second half is really... annoying because it's dark and cold and rainy. And I have to go to work by bike, so please :P But yeah it was fun draw this.

It's crispy colourful leaves and pumpkin spice pumpkin season :D So here have a bunch of... Pumpkins!! :D Seriously I say this each autumn: I wanna paint pumpkins and more autumncoloured pieces and never really get to it before fall is over. So here we go :3

Another flower I painted is the Cymbidium Orchid. I loved the colours and just painted it. Since I wanted the focus to be on the biggest flower, I blurred the two smaller ones with more fuzzy effects :D Or at least... I tried x'D

Ehm yes this is a batch of hydrangea flowers which I painted last week on Saturday, like the day before I went completely down with some not so funny cold. All in watercolour & a bit of golden dollups.

Hi there, I finished this little painting of a blue heron catching a meal. I finished him actually yesterday but hehe... I really like the outcome :3 But I guess this might not be the last bird I'm painting :D

I said I'll practise the birds called cranes x'D And here I am with red-crowned cranes doing a mating dance. But…SNOW now? Yeah…well they do that in Hokkaidou in early spring and there's snow. So yeah, that's why there's snow on my art blog in the midst of July!? I am planning to make a bigger, much more detailes quality painting for Touken Ranbu - Tusurumaru and I think the cranes he is connected to are these red-crowned cranes. Yes, I know I have to learn a lot more, but I'm on a good way. Hope you like it :3

I painted a crane because at some point I'd like to draw Tsurumaru with a bunch of lovely name-siblings. I guess more crane drawings or paintings will follow, just to get myself adjusted to the animals. This reminds me that I also want to draw and paint foxes a lot more!

Not me waiting for the DVD/Blu-Ray release for Oku no Michi Hitotsu wa Chisu part of the Touken Ranbu Musical. I enjoy Kuroba Mario's Mikazuki Munechika far too much. So here you go, have one of my favourite sword-boys in their musical version >DD I used a few of the Kuretake Gansai Tanbi Pearlescent and Gem colours, hence the weird lighting here. But it's so much fun to use them :D

I tested the new watercolour paper! It's Italian watercolour paper 100% cotton rough and yeah, the quality is noticable! I just am not too good at using rough paper yet. It was super fun!

Ahm... I was doodling Hyuuga Masamune from Touken Ranbu, but then the doodle turned into a mediocre illustration x'D It's a very mixed mediapiece >D

So, here it is: the Koi Carp Pond in actylics. I am still learning how to use them correctly and yeah I know it's really not the best. BUT it was fun to make :D I especially like the glittery sparks from the gansai tambi <3

Hi friends :3 I'm back with another acrylic painting - a landscape and... what shall I say?! It's bad x'D Or let's say this is not like I imagined it, and it's yeah experiementing with my current skills and learn more along the way. I first didn't want to upload it BUT I was thinking that it's actually quite important to show painting like these, because you know, not everything you produce will result in a masterpiece or result in something you have envisioned or intended. So here is my part on that. And you know, some art moots and besties said they'd even like it and pointed things out that they like and in the end I thought, yeah fair enough! I see that as well and as my skills will develop I can look back on this and think "Wow, I really have made a huge progress". Until then - look, I made a random actylic painting of a Lavender Forest.

An inkdrawing which my camera couldn't quite catch entirely ;w; So I guess I'll have to try to take a better photo of it soon, because Mu Qing looks quite handsome... and not blurry at all x'D

Yes I am in the middle of learning how to use ink pens better. As with all the other things I'm using, I'm trying to get better at them and master the tools hehe. Little soldier HongHong'er has his bandages tied into his hair-knot :D I thought that would be a smart way, but I might be wrong too.

So this is the scene in book 2 (English vol. 3) where Mu Qing booted the little soldier out of the army. Mu Qing glared at the boy before him. "Go home. You can't be in the army!" The youngster barked back at him. "His Highness said I'm talented!" "His Highness doesn't need children in the army!"
