How to Diagonise the Evil Eye using Tarot
Tumblr media
It’s a fun little trick that I learned that really helped me and others to find if the evil eye is affecting them. It’s rooted in Italian folk tradition.
First get any tarot deck you have handy and take out six cards: 10 of swords, 7 of swords, the Devil, The Star, The Sun, Temperance.
Tumblr media
Face them down on top of each other taking deep breaths before shuffling as you shuffle facedown. Chant this incantation three times:
“Saint Michael sees what the devil bids, anger bursts, and envy dies, and I now have the Archangel’s eyes”
Now it has catholic symbolism for obvious reasons, you can if it makes you uncomfortable replace Saint Michael and the devil with other names.
I used Athena once for this incantation cause she is also known to drive away evil spirits and energy.
“Lady Athena sees what evil bids, anger bursts, and envy dies, and I now have the Goddess’s eyes.”
Whilst chanting do it slowly and patiently while having your eyes close, take a short pause after each shuffle so that you can get an accurate diagnosis. Then flip over the first card ontop for an answer.
Positive for the Evil Eye: The Devil, 7 of Swords, and 10 of swords.
The Devil: The Eye is present and direct result of someone’s manipulation and deception usually by someone close that you actually trust but the person is masking their bad intentions be careful around them especially when it comes to money.
7 of Swords: The Eye is present by someone’s result of envy and jealousy or intent to harm. Can be someone you know or a stranger.
10 of Swords: The Eye is Present by one’s own pride and ego whether intentionally or not. A card to check the querent’s behavior.
But the other Three: The Sun, Star, Temperance. Are cards that are negative to the presence of the Evil Eye. In my own personal practice I did give them meanings to help explain why I don’t have it. I see that these cards are under protection from the divine like The Star and Temperance. The Sun is joy and good tidings of yourself and people around you. Nothing is eclipsed the sun or your joy. The Star can be healing as well maybe you got rid of the Eye already or the person who casted the eye and recovering from the experience.
I hope you all enjoy this I learned it from Antonio Pagilarulo’s book The Evil Eye. From using this technique it helped me a lot and I even helped others to get rid of the eye within my family. I really hope this will provide you the same benefits that I experienced!
Tarot used: The Crow Tarot by MJ Cullinane.

“Every late summer is a wonderful opportunity to make rowan necklaces strung on red thread to hang in the home and to give to loved ones for the year. Scarlet wool thread can be used to string them, it is easy to pierce the 'sorb apple' through the pretty star on the bottom of the fruit. Hang them to dry in a warm kitchen, out of the light. Wear the necklace when extra protection is needed, taking care to remove it from getting wet.”

Fairy Seers in Serbia
"The fairy-seers of southeastern Europe are (mostly) women who are able to communicate with women-like creatures from the supernatural world. Sometimes the fairy-seers induce a trance state in order to establish communication with these creatures. During their communication with the fairies the fairy-seers can prophesy about future events. The fairy-seers can also deliver messages to the living on behalf of their deceased relatives. Similarly, they advise about how to heal an ill individual or the treatment of that individual can proceed after consulting the fairies. These illnesses are usually a form of so called " fairy-illness " —a disorder that has its origins in a curse or a spell wrought by fairies offended by that individual. In the narratives of fairy-seers, fairies are described as three young, beautiful longhaired women, dressed either in white or in black. The women who can see and speak to the fairies have been chosen by them early on, usually in their childhood or adolescence. By dancing and singing on special days of the orthodox Christian calendar, these women fall into a trance state and then communicate with " their sisters, " as these invisible creatures are called by these women. The fairy-seers are called numerous names in various languages across southeastern Europe. The semantic field of these varying designations is far from identical: sometimes the seers need not enter into a trance to see them, sometimes they fight (nocturnal) battles in the sky to ensure good crops for their region, where they live and work as any normal human being. But there is one common denominator to all of them: they undergo a process of initiation (prompted by these creatures) and the invisible creatures with whom they communicate are females. I choose to use this term in an attempt to cover and to depict a vast range of more or less similar phenomena across the Balkans with an English term, with the goal of creating an " umbrella term " in the English language (nowadays a lingua franca) for working purposes."
[Vivod, M. (2018). The Fairy Seers of Eastern Serbia: Seeing Fairies—Speaking through Trance. Oral Tradition, 32(1).]
There is a short documentary created with the video material filmed during the fieldwork (April 2015). It’s actually a partial recording of the trance. The documentary has been presented at the Kratovo Ethnological Film Festival in September 2016. The documentary can be seen at: http://www.imdb.com/video/wab/vi796439833/

what are some interesting ways to pay homage to the hermanubis in everyday practices?
I might've misread this, so I'm just going to answer as many ways as I can. So, on the first thing of Hermanubis, or the Hermes-Anubis syncretism, more Hermes Psychopompos at this end, I would say that service is a good way to go. I remember writing a post where I said something like "the spirit worker becomes their own Hermes" because that's what I believe. The spirit worker acts in a few ways. They pacify, heal, conjure, mediate and all the little things. On the flipside, the PGM had a few good spells for conjuring the dead for malefic purposes so this would vary greatly but it often comes down to service of some sort, an interchange between the spirit worker and the spirit in question.
So, an 'interesting' way to pay homage would be to essentially become Hermanubis, or a Psychopomp type figure from Hermes Chthonia, to various Buddhas. Essentially, whenever you do work for spirits be it providing food, offerings, libations, prayers (either liberating or operative), offer the work to Hermanubis. If you wanted to go St. Augustine's route, it is by the grace of the Divine that you are able to do so, so consistent reminiding yourself of the presence of Hermanubis and your position as a sort of material psychpomp is a good meditation. Whenever you offer, you see yourself as Hermanubis. Whenever you pray for the dead, the meditation continues. Pass through a graveyard or any land under the designation of the Dead, you guessed it.
That's at least how I'd do it. I don't work with Hermanubis exactly and it's been a while since I dipped into the Greek Polytheist or Kemetic Polytheist water, but from what I do know or have practiced in my current faiths, that's the approach I'd take. It's devotional, meditational and helpful.

Earth and Gnomes.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Gnomes...are wonderful!
I Honestly don't know where to start this piece in a way that REALLY cover my whole experiences with gnomes and earth element in one light. There's so much that the gnomes really encompass than just the usual gnome=money or gnome=material wealth. Gnomes are more alive than we think and working with them it gives a better perspective of the consciousness in stuff we think doesn't have consciousness or a soul to begin with. EVERYTHING have that soul and awareness to it!
It's hard to really stop and say that the gnomes and earth element start and ends here, because they encompass the house, electricity ، water, comfort, attitude, places of worship, etc. What do I mean by that?
House, Electricity ، Water
The house is pretty simple idea of having a house spirit but what the gnomes provide is this buffer zone between you and the house spirit without you having to deal directly with micro-managing the house-spirit, if you're amicable with the gnomes' wisdom and ingenuity then that would lead to a more harmonious house, no? that include how the electricity, plumbing, and everything that make the house goes smoothly. A little bit goes a long way and what the gnome need is usually abnormal by our standards. That buffer zone, between us and the spirits is usually important to cover any compromise or mistakes on our parts.
Comfort, Attitude, and Place of Worship(Feng Shui?)
Coming to one's own place of worship, and even your attitude and how you feel around places...The gnomes awaken that sense of "knowing" how the place is! We all can definitely sense if something is off in a place or not but we often sometime ignore our own place and the places we are usually in. At least for me the gnomes and working with the earth elementals awaken the land, the flow, the chi, the energy going around us and make us feel how the whole place is breathing and operating. The gnomes, once we begin to work with their wisdom we start to EMBODY the place we work with and get grounded in the forces around us.
Embodiment(Etc)
In a Rahuian(Rahu-bodiless world) we are always looking at screen ignoring our bodies and the world around us throwing ourselves into a semi-digital world. We truly start to feel that we are disconnected from the world and if we truly don't go back and touch grass then we start to lose our sense of touch with the world! I tell you, the best reason to work with gnomes is to embody your work, to embody your spiritual path, and to be attentive of the foundation that you're building. That's truly the most important lesson with gnomes. Building the foundation, being attentive, consistent in one's own practice and life. All of these aspects of work culminate to become the structure shock-absorber of other more intensive phenomena of the spiritual realm so they don't get stuck being a purely spiritual thing but grounded and manifested into the real world!
O Invisible King Who, taking the Earth for Foundation, didst hollow its depths to fill them with Thy Almighty Power. Thou Whose Name shaketh the Arches of the World! Thou who causest the Seven Metals to flow through the veins of the rocks! King of the Seven Lights! Rewarder of the subterranean Workers! Lead us into the desirable Air and into the Realm of Splendor. We watch and we labor unceasingly, we seek and we hope, by the twelve stones of the Holy City, by the buried Talismans, by the Axis of the Lodestone which passes through the center of the Earth. O Lord, O Lord, O Lord! Have pity upon those who suffer. Expand our hearts, detach and upraise our minds, enlarge our natures. O Stability and Motion! O Darkness veiled in Brilliance! O Day clothed in Night! O Master who never dost withhold the wages of Thy Workmen! O Silver Whiteness! O Golden Splendor! O Crown of Living and Melodious Diamond! Thou who wearest the Heavens on Thy Finger like a ring of Sapphire! Thou who hidest beneath the Earth in the Kingdom of Gems, the marvelous Seed of the Stars! Live, reign, and be Thou the Eternal Dispenser of the Treasures whereof Thou hast made us the Warders! Amen.

Heyy! If it’s not too much of a hassle what are some divination tips for tarot? Sometimes it feels like I am really good and than other times it’s like ehh
Sure, I could use a break before I start crocheting again 😅
I want to emphasize that tarot is one of those things where people really build up personal beliefs around it, so the following is in no way universal. It's all just what I currently feel and believe, heavily influenced by my beliefs as a spirit-working witch.
Most of the actual tips are at the end. I hope this helps!
Structures and Methodology
Tarot can't "magically" come up with valid answers no matter how it's put into use. It's a hammer and a screw situation; sometimes, using the tool incorrectly is less than useless.
Not all tarot spreads are very useful. The type of spread can have a huge influence on success. Try setting aside 'one question per card' spreads and see if that helps improve consistency in your results.
Not all tarot meanings are very useful. Tarot card meanings evolve and change over time. Modern meanings tend to be much more heavily skewed towards topics of introspection and self-help. Try reading books about the history and interpretations of tarot cards themselves to expand your understanding of each card. I recommend The Mystical Origins of the Tarot by Paul Huson for a strictly historical look.
Not all tarot questions are very useful. Learning how to phrase and frame questions, along with how to select a spread to place them in, are vital skills for the reader. Try focusing on strictly defined, open-ended questions.
Not every tarot deck is useful for every reader. It can come down to art and author meanings, but it can also come down to personal connection: a deck may work great for you for reading some types of questions, but fall flat on other types; or be more hit-or-miss. If you have multiple decks, try rotating between them or doing deck interviews to discover what types of questions they best address.
Memorizing the cards is not necessarily useful. It's not just that there are 78 cards, with 78 potential reversed meanings, each card in and of itself potentially having multiple meanings; it's also that depending on context, the core meaning can entirely change. Professional readers at events will pull out the guidebook and look up card meanings. There is no actual reason to try and memorize the cards unless you really just want to.
It's useful to have a map that helps navigate the cards. By adopting simple structures that paint large parts of the deck with broad meaning, interpretations can be easier to tackle. Another popular 'map' is the Fool's Journey.
You don't have to use the entire deck for every reading. Only using some parts of a deck to read is called reading with a restricted deck, and I really recommend practicing it as a way to develop a relationship with the deck structure. It can also be a very useful way to focus readings on one area of life (e.g., a new business venture reading may be read using only Wands and Pentacles).
That being said,
Check to see if cards are accidentally missing. Reading with a restricted deck is one thing, but I find my readings go weird if a card accidentally fell out and is lost.
You should take notes on your readings. I know it's a hassle, but the information you can glean and analyze from your own work is invaluable to figuring a lot of stuff out, like, what kinds of spreads work best for me? And what kinds of questions do I excel or fail at? Because next comes...
Energy and Individuality
Some questions are more draining or difficult to read than other questions. Here are my illustrated beliefs on the matter, explaining why some questions that seem straightforward can be nigh impossible to grasp. Try taking notes on the scope of the questions you can answer well.
Not all diviners are equally skilled at reading on all things. A diviner may have a special talent for certain types of questions (such as the outcomes of new ventures, or navigating the inner landscape), yet may fall flat when it comes to other questions (relationships or social intent, for example).
Any specific situation may have barriers to being read clearly. This is true even of mundane situations not expected to have magical influence. Sometimes, a certain situation, person, or concept will be shielded from view - and that can have nothing to do with the reader or querent.
Celestial timing may be a factor. Things like moon phase, time of year, or time of day can sometimes influence people's abilities to easily connect or easily interpret cards. Try paying attention to timing as part of note-taking and see if that's a factor.
Caffeine, drugs, alcohol, and rest can be a factor. Once I reach a certain level of fatigue (usually before bedtime) I can't read at all. Caffeine can sometimes also "close the veil" for me and limit me from being able to interpret readings. It might not be a factor for everyone, but it's something to pay attention to!
For practitioners, metaphysical workings can use up all available energy for divination. I find that my "pool" of magical energy feeds both my divination and my spellwork. Exhausting myself in one area (such as doing lots of energy work exercises) means I have exhausted myself in another area (no juice left for readings).
Witchcraft and Magic
Spells and wards can affect your ability to perform divination, sometimes in weird and unexpected ways. Go through spell notes to see if there is a chance prior, ongoing spells may be messing with your ability to read on certain questions. A big giveaway is when divination doesn't seem to work well specifically within a warded area, but this isn't a strict rule.
Prepare a place of reading, or reading cloth, enchanted to assist with finding answers. By consecrating and tending to such a place, such as a divinatory altar or divinatory reading mat, powers of far seeing, truth, and accuracy can be accumulated and much more easily raised. For those that have the space, a full divinatory altar can be an extraordinary tool. For such places, especially consider the power of symbols which open roads and gates.
Prepare a Charm of True Reading. Find, or develop, a small rhyme, charm, or prayer that calls on powers which support you and requests that your upcoming reading be clear and true. Repeat this before each reading, as desired.
Prepare an oil. A skin-safe carrier oil steeped with bay laurel, star anise, and lavender; or just bay leaf if the grocery store fails you, can be enchanted (especially under the full moon) to assist with opening the second sight and securing more accurate readings. Dab some on your forehead, ideally along with the Charm of True Reading.
Prepare a head covering. For some people, covering the head and/or partially blocking vision, can assist with entering divinatory headspace and with the receipt of visions and intuitive connections. As much as I like fancy things, I often end up using sunglasses and a hat. Being in a dark room might help as well, especially if you can get a candle in there.
Prepare incense. Here again bay laurel, star anise, and lavender can serve if you're able to powder and burn your own blends (remember to enchant them); but an enchanted stick of commercial incense will be fine (in any scent). Enchant the incense for the purpose of casting away doubt and influences that cause ill-sight, and to create an energetic haven where answers readily arrive to be interpreted by you, the reader.
Cast a circle. If you like to write your own rituals, especially focus on the concept of the circle being a liminal space between time that connects the worlds, almost like Grand Central Station where many threads of fate (and information) meet.
Consecrate your deck. Use any consecration ritual you like, but especially one that employs powers supportive of divination, true seeing, and psychism. This is almost certainly best done on a full moon. Consecrate your deck to be a tool which can peer into the threads of fate on your behalf, and then only reflect absolute truth back to you.
Enchant a tool to nurture and safeguard your decks. A lovely amethyst stone or clear quartz (or any variety of stone, bought or found), maybe one marked as special by putting it in a handy net, can be enchanted to be a protector of any deck it sits on. The value of this is to keep the deck enthroned in an additional layer of protection against untruth, but also to keep it bathed in energy related to divination and psychism. For those worried about decks getting magically "dirty," this is a good solution.
Also, cleansing decks sometimes is necessary, but it can be an easy operation. I find that spreading the entire deck face-down and mixing up all the cards in a big pile provides an adequate cleansing much of the time.
Spirit Work
Show your deck some love by providing it with offerings and a shrine, just as you would for an honored spirit. If the shrine isn't possible, an offering is excellent - maybe once weekly or monthly (depending on how often you use it), and even a small offering before each reading is useful. In my beliefs, this action goes far beyond making a deck happy with you - it can provide real, tangible effects on energy drain and the 'power' of your readings.
Petition gods, ancestors, or helper spirits. Beyond a Charm of True Reading, simply praying to helpful and benevolent powers to provide an assist can be really helpful. This is also an important way to develop a relationship with a guiding divinatory power. Speaking of which,
Get in good with a god or spirit who is associated with divination, psychism, etc. The Moon itself is a very solid choice. Apollo can see the future, and his buddy Bay Laurel (whom itself can be worked with as a divinatory spirit) can pack quite the punch. The dead are often said to be very good at helping with divination, but necromancy isn't for everyone. A witch who wants to become powerful in the ways of divination is wise to seek out helper spirits who are very good at this task.
Don't forget the gods and spirits of the thing you want to read on. If I wanted to know whether or not selling something online is worth the trouble, I might not just ask a far-seeing spirit to help me. I might also petition Hermes to grant me special insight into his domain. You can even use other spells you've cast (such as a prosperity spell) as a "foothold" into a certain area, but that's a whole topic in and of itself.
From time to time, a spirit may cause trouble. Divination can sometimes be interfered with by spirits who are upset with us. General offerings to appease offended spirits, or to make nice with the spiritual neighborhood around you, are well undertaken. They can be done even if you don't know that you've actually upset anyone.

Super Easy Tarot Tips
I definitely didn’t come up with these, but they’re worth repeating!
Interpreting the suits
The pip (minor arcana) suits can tell you what aspect of life is being discussed. Everyone can have their own definitions, but often –
Pentacles = Earth and reveal income and money, home life, all domestic issues, family, and platonic relationships.
Cups = Water and reveal emotions, romantic relationships, subjective experiences, and personal need.
Swords = Air and reveal mindset, objectivity, professional relationships, pain, and difficult or professional (“it’s just business”) choices.
Wands = Fire and reveal passions, desires, boundaries, sexual relationships, burdens, and choices borne out of inner need.
Noting which suit is dominant, absent, or balanced with another suit can provide instant context to a reading. You can actually provide really insightful interpretations just based on the suits and how they’re arranged next to each other, before ever considering what each card actually is.
Example: If you draw a 6-card spread about finances and there are 4 wands and 2 cups, you know the issue or blockage your client is facing is probably about what they really want out of life and how they feel about their job and current status.
Pip sequence
You don’t have to memorize numerology to use pip numbers. Each suit represents a progression from beginning (Ace) to end (10). If you look at a number 7 card, you don’t have to remember what 7 might mean numerologically. You already know that 7 is getting pretty close to the end of the suit, and this card is going to represent something already well developed and headed towards completion, but it isn’t quite there yet.
Example: You draw a 3-card spread about how someone’s relationship is going. You get an Ac, a 2, and a 9. You can interpret that this person’s relationship is still in the beginning stages, in the phase where a lot is still being worked out. However, there is an aspect of their relationship where they already feel like old friends.
Court cards
If you understand the numbered cards to be events and circumstances, court cards can easily become roles, identities, and behaviors. Switching court cards from having to be a person, and allowing them to be aspects of personhood, can make them easier to read. Using this interpretation, a court card can be:
- The role or persona a person feels they must take
- An aspect of someone’s overall identity
- The category or type of behaviors needed or displayed
- The resulting effect of a situation; the court card is how people are made to feel, act, or react
- Etc.
Generally, pages are beginners, learners, experimenters, and observers. Knights are in the thick of things, taking actionable steps and affecting the world around them. Queens represent the wisdom and knowledge of their suit. Kings represent managing, ruling, and delegating within their suit.
Example: In a spread about becoming a better person, one card is the Knight of Wands. The reader can’t think of anyone they know who is a Knight of Wands type and doesn’t know who it could be referring to. If the card is reframed as a category of behaviors, the reader might see that they should more often take action and stand their ground.
Exercise suggestion!
Take out all the major arcana cards and do practice readings with just the pips and court cards. Only interpret suit, pip number, and title (that is, if the card is a page, knight, queen, or king). See what interpretations you’re able to come up with only using these 3 factors and not the images on the cards or any traditional meanings.
