Finding Refuge Amid Desperation

We found temporary shelter in a classroom turned into a makeshift refuge. The walls were bare, the air thick with fear. Surrounded by other displaced families, we shared a profound sense of loss.

The Heavy Burden of Loss

I lost my home—my sanctuary—now reduced to rubble. My workshop, where I built my life as a blacksmith, was completely destroyed. I lost not only my tools and savings but also my livelihood. The deepest wound is the loss of hope: the hope that my children could thrive, free from fear.

Daily Struggles for Survival

We are caught in a cycle of survival. Food is scarce, and basic necessities are out of reach. In our overcrowded shelter, we cling to each other for comfort. The worry and fear in my family’s eyes are constant reminders of our daily struggle.

I am salah from Gaza. I have two children, Youssef, 12 years old, and Nour, 7 years old. Because of the fierce war, we lost everything we owned, I’m lost everything made... and my children lost every beautiful thing in his life. We were displaced to the south of the Gaza Strip several times. We endured a lot of meager and contaminated food and drink, and we were exposed to close-up death in all its forms... and we survived it miraculously. I feel pain as I write to you...as I had to start this castle to save myself and my family from this humanitarian disaster... Save my family... The situation is catastrophic now in Gaza after the heavy rain and winds this week. Did you know that families in Gaza are sheltered only by some pieces of nylon and that the cold is very severe? My family is suffering from severe cold.

There is no shelter to protect them from the bitter cold. Their help will save my family’s lives from starvation and may help them flee Gaza soon after the crossings are opened soon.

I know that most of you are desperate and bored of constantly asking us for help. But how many times do you see the world and governments that did not look at us with mercy?

We were waiting for the end of the day to go there after a tiring day of work, but the occupation did not leave us. 😔😭💔

This house was bombed with all hatred. Here we are after the genocide. We have nothing... We lost our house, our work, and our car.😭😞

We were displaced to Rafah in a tent that could not accommodate 5 people, and after the displacement from Rafah, we were displaced to Mawasi Khan Yunis again. It was a very difficult period... but now we are in Mawasi Khan Yunis in a tent that does not protect us from the cold of winter or the heat of summer.😞😭

This is our tent, its floor is made of cardboard, as you can see, and I suffer from severe eczema due to the pollution of the air and the materials used, and the medicine is very expensive.😭💔

Hello, unfortunately my previous account was deleted so I will retell my story, my name is Ahmed Al-Dani, I am 14 years old. I live in Gaza, where I was born amidst ongoing conflicts and wars. In 2008, while my mother was pregnant with me, a phosphorous bomb fell near our house, and I inhaled the toxic gas. This led to genetic deformities that affected the growth of my teeth and hair.

Throughout my life, my family has tried to find solutions to my health problems, and we have visited many doctors in Gaza. The treatment recommended by the nurses was dental implants, but each tooth costs about $1,000, which is beyond our means.

My treatment journey began, but the ongoing conflict has made things more difficult. My family and I have been displaced more than seven times in the past ten months, and we now live in the southern part of Gaza without work or income, relying only on savings that we hoped to use for my treatment.

Please support me or share my story to help me continue my treatment and travel outside of Gaza, where I can complete my dental implants and take care of my health. The total cost of coordinating the travel and medical treatment is $50,000. Every donation, no matter how small, will be a beacon of hope for a better life.
