OneNote Tutorial!

hello everyone! today i am going to be doing a review/tutorial on Microsoft OneNote! I personally use this in addition to paper notes because my teachers don’t like us to use our computers to take notes and because it’s more aesthetically pleasing to take paper notes, so I usually take my paper notes in class, revise them on more paper and make them look super pretty, and then type them into OneNote so I can have them on the go.

this is what the app looks like on mac. i have used the mac version and the online version, so i’m not sure what the pc version is like but i’m sure it’s just as nice or nicer due to the fact that it was created by microsoft. anyways, let’s open it up.

when i open up OneNote, the first thing I see is this page of notes that I took for my Social Studies/US History class because that’s the last page I looked at. I would imagine if you are downloading this app for the first time you would see a page that looks similar to the picture below, at which you would create a notebook.

the first thing i should mention in this tutorial is notebooks. i use one notebook for each class. i like to use a different color for each, but you can do whatever you want in regards to colors. so let’s create a notebook.

okay so once you have your notebook created you will be taken to a blank page in the notebook. there will be one tab at the top next to the name of your notebook and a plus sign to add more, and a sidebar with one page listed and the option to add more. i use one tab for each unit and one page for each lesson. it really depends on the structure of your classes. mine tend to be broken up into units, with lessons in each, but if yours are more project based you may want to create a tab for each project.

you can type wherever you want on the page, just click wherever you want to type. you can also change the text color and highlighter color just by clicking home and then on their designated symbols (a highlighter and colored text) also if you want to change the paper color you just click view>paper color.

you also have these super useful symbols. you can add in something that the teacher mentioned that you think was important, a definition, a question, whatever. i also know that some people keep their bullet journals on onenote and use these symbols. it really can do whatever you need and i personally think it’s a great program. it’s free on the mac and ios app stores, i’m not sure about other platforms but it’s available online as well. that’s the end of this i hope you liked it! i’ve never made anything like this!! xo, ana!

My dog is dead.. we had to put him to sleep

My dog is dead. We had to put him to sleep on Tuesday. He had a bone in his esophagus. We didn't know until Monday, and then he had been sick for 11 days. The vet didn't see it the first time because she didn't x-ray his entire body.. only his stomach.. And then it was too late.. Since it had made a hole and the esophagus area was rotten.. infected because of the hole I'm in so much pain right now. this is such a shock. He was only 5,5 years old.. We were not prepared. We thought he would survive and get surgery. I don't know what to do

1.1.16 // happy 2016 to everyone! 

2015 had been stressful but through all the problems i faced, i learned a lot and have indeed became stronger person. it might not have gone by smoothly but the lessons i learnt were valuable and i plan to keep them in mind this new year. 

on a side note, after contemplating for quite some time, i finally bought myself a black moleskine and decided to start a bullet journal this year!! this is the year where i’d be sitting for my gce olevels, and i do hope that a bullet journal would help me to stay motivated & organized!!
