"Fuck!" Geralt hobbled over to his friend. With a grunt of pain, he kneeled down on the trampled wheat next to the bard. "Jask, talk to me. Come on! Jaskier, say something!"

There was no response. Fuck, fuck, fuck! Geralt knew that Jaskier was alive, but he was breathing rapidly, his skin flushed and drenched with sweat, his heartbeat racing and his brow felt far too hot to the touch. Not good. Cursing colourfully, the Witcher ripped a sleeve off his black shirt, opened his canteen, wet the fabric and dabbed at Jaskier's sweaty face with it. It was common knowledge among Witchers that overheating was dangerous and could lead to heatstroke, a potentially lethal condition and one of the most frequent causes of death from an encounter with noonwraiths. But Jaskier could not die. He must not. Although they went their separate ways often enough, life without the bard was simply unthinkable for Geralt. And it was all his fault. He should never have agreed to bringing him along on a monster hunt like this. Fuck!

Q: How are the prompts divided?

Q: Where can I find the prompts list?

A: The title is a “theme” for the day, followed by two tropes and a dialog prompt.

A: Absolutely.

Q: Can I use the title as a prompt?

A: Not at all.

Q: Do I have to use all of the prompts?

Q: Can I use all of the prompts?

A: Absolutely. If it's fun, go for it--don't feel pressured to finish them all, but do follow what's inspiring you.

Q: If I'm writing a chronological story, can I swap the days to make it fit the timeline?

A: Yes. Just make sure you tag each piece with the prompt and day you're filling.

Q: Can I have early or late entries?

A: Yes. Early and late entries will not be reblogged to the event account, though.

Q: Is there an Ao3 collection?

Q: Can I write NSFW?

A: You absolutely can, but the event blog will not reblog any prompt fill rated Explicit. Please ensure you tag NSFW appropriately.

Q: Can I use AI?

A: No.

Q: Can a whumper be included in the prompt fill?

A: The short answer is no. The long answer is that you cannot have the role of whumper in your prompt fill (aka: no whumper-on-whumpee); however, if the character you want to be a whumpee or a caretaker happens to be a whumper, then as long as they are not fulfilling the role of whumper, it's fine. Also, if there is a whumper, it must be totally impersonal and faceless. Here are some examples for clarification:

A character's drink is spiked at a party. OKAY: The whumper who spiked the drink is never mentioned and is completely faceless, and the story is directly about whumpee recovering. NOT WHUMPERLESS: The whumper who spiked the drink kidnaps the whumpee. A character is left alone in a storm. OKAY: The character is stranded or lost. NOT WHUMPERLESS: Whumper tied them to a post and left them in the storm. A character is mugged on the street. OKAY: The whumper is a stranger, faceless, and the focus is on Whumpee. NOT WHUMPERLESS: The whumper is a stalker and there to kidnap Whumpee.

All in all, if your goal is to fulfill the event, then try to avoid a whumper. If you're using the prompts elsewhere, then ignore this; but in the spirit of the event, no whumper roles please.

Q: How do I tag my posts?

A: Tag with #whumperless whump event, #wwevent 2025 and #wwevent day [x](Don't just tag wwe, that's wresting.) Then, tag triggers and content warnings. Please put these first in the tag order! It just makes it easier to reblog.

Because it's hot outside, make your whumpees hot as well. For example it can be the heat of a fire or the heat of the sun or the heat of an oven or maybe even the heat of a branding iron? You decide. No matter how, just let your whumpee feel the heat.

Fluffcember in July 2025

Alright, the poll was faily clear: A lot of people want to do a summer Fluffcember. Which obviously is also fun! Remember, this idea came about due to people from the Southern Hemisphere noting, that all "december" challenges tend to focus on winter-related topics, while in the Southern Hemisphere it was summer.

So, to be fair, now another somewhat wintery challenge in July, when the Southern Hemisphere people have their own winter.

From December onwards, I will make sure the challenges will be two-sided. Summer-side and Winter-side!

Bonus challenge: Put your characters in the Southern Hemisphere for once. (Okay, this one is probably easier for the Dragon Age fandom xD)

Summary:

Finally, darkness has fallen on this shortest night of the year. Litha, the night of the summer solstice, a mythical night of celebration and magic. The villagers have lit the bonfires, and music and singing invites to dance and make merry. Soon, couples will jump the fire together, a good omen for their relationship if they succeed.   However, not everybody's eyes are turned toward the fires and the celebrating crowd in their best traditional garments, no. Two beautiful, identical-looking young girls with colourful flower wreaths in their hair gaze toward the dark shadow of the nearby forest. They nod at each other. Then, hand in hand, they sneak away from the bonfires and festivities. It cannot be long until midnight now, the magical hour when, for a very short time, the flower of the fern will bloom in the deepest, most magical parts of the wilderness. And they will find it ...   OR: The night of the summer solstice goes very different for Coën and Cahir than planned.

You will be submitting your rarepair fic(s), and commit to leaving a comment on someone else’s fic(s). The event will match people based on fic tags and your preferences/DNWs.

Comments: Comments need to be at least 100 words long. Anything you quote from the fic doesn’t count towards that. If you want only to comment and not submit a fic, you are welcome to sign up!

Fics: Submit at least one oneshot/chapter with a wordcount of no more than 10k, and no less than 500 words. You can submit up to three fics so there’s a better chance to match readers and fics.

If you have participated before and submit more than one fic, please submit no more than ONE fic/chapter you have submitted before! If you submit one fic/chapter, it should be a new one.

The pairing can be romantic or platonic/friendship.

This event welcomes darkfic, WIPs (the submitted chapter must be published on AO3), crossovers and OCs. As long as the fic is tagged correctly, you can submit whatever you want. The flip side of submit whatever you want is that we will not tolerate bashing of submitted fics.

If you end up paired with a fic that is in hindsight not your cup of tea for whatever reason, please contact the mods before commenting to be paired with another fic (there’s no need to tell us why). Don’t feel obliged to read material you’d rather not, and do not send the author negativity.
