came back to inspect the suspicious hole and my suspicion was correct - it's the entrance to the bull ant nest!

I heard that bull ants like honey, so i got some on a stick and gently poked it into the nest. The ant standing guard out front seemed interested and gave it a little lick! I didn't want to spook her with my shaky hands though so I gently wiped it on the top of the entrance and got some wonderful footage of the ants taking turns sharing the honey!!

Some wee ants snacking on a little honey and going about their anty business! I actually left the honey from the second clip at their much larger neighbors door but they seemed to have claimed it instead.

I was bughunting in the yard and I saw this big obviously critter-made hole in the side of the dirt wall and went hmmm I wonder who made this... and I peered inside with my phone light and couldn't see anything UNTIL! this big beautiful girl started squaring the fuck up on the ledge just above!! she's SO beautiful (and not very happy with me LMAO)

very unflattering photo of the underside of this big fat snail. You can see the breathing hole going up unto the shell though which is neat!
