I grew up in a poly household. My mother was married to two men who loved her dearly and they were the best of friends. I use past tense due to the fact that one of my fathers passed away a few years back.

I grew up in one of the most stable, loving households I can imagine. I had tons of support from all three of my parents, I never felt alone, and I never felt confused about my parents relationship.

Were other people confused when I told them about my parents? Sure. Did it take some time for them to understand my parents relationship? Yep. And the reaction I got every single time from other kids once they understood? “That’s so awesome!”

Growing up in a poly house did not hurt me, confuse me, or make my life difficult. It sure as hell wasn’t abusive.

Healthy poly relationships do not hurt children.

I also wanted to show off the hat I made, pictured behind my notebook. I bought plain felt hats from Mumishandmade on Etsy. They’re very high quality and I was quite pleased... they were about 30$ each which I think was an appropriate cost. So I took the plain hats and I sewed false flowers and charms onto them. I really love it! The other one I made is for my mother-in-law, so I hope she’ll like it too.

So there’s an Animal Crossing game for your phone called Pocket Camp. It’s similar to the old animal crossing; your character comes to this town and helps out all the animals there with the things that they request. In return for giving them things like fruit, fish, or bugs, they give you money and crafting materials. You use these materials to make clothing or items for your campsite, camper, and cabin. Sometimes the animals will ask you questions, but there’s never a wrong answer. Everyone is nice and always greatful, so it’s a very low stress game.

Recently I switched my game language to French, and I feel like it’s very helpful. There’s a TON of dialogue in animal crossing, even if you have the ‘skip’ button checked. It’s simple, friendly conversation that uses casual everyday terms, and as I saw while I played it in English, it’s VERY accurate and detailed, as well as modern.

So I wrote down and translated some of the things that the animals say. I have a few more that I’ll post in the future.
