What A Year It's Been

Have not really posted a blog entry for agess mannn. This is either because I have been really really busy or just really really lazy.... 

As I sit here in the early hours of Monday morning I have suddenly reflected on my year and realised it's November WHATTTT!!??? It's almost 2014 and I am 21 in a month. Time flies when you have been enjoying yourself.

I can only describe the year of 2013 without being cringe as arguably the best year of my life. So many positives and dreams that have come true (CRINGEEEEE) with out a doubt working closely and making friends, contacts and laughs with the radio industry has been mad. I still feel like I am going to wake up from a good dream soon. 

The highlight will without a doubt be BBC Radio 1 & 1Xtra. Getting on the books there was a target I said to one of my friends to get to in 10 years after I started my degree and after making it just 12 months into my degree makes me a very happy man. Working alongside Charlie Sloth and his team meeting the likes of Mista Jam, Sarah Jane Crawford & Nihal and then interviewing the gorgeous lovely Katy B on behalf on Radio 1 Xtra was one of them moments when you just say to yourself WHATTT DA FUK IS GOING ON??? On top of that speaking to SHY FX, Ms. Dynamite, B. Traits, Chase & Status & Sub Focus is just incredible and was the best experience of my life. What a month that was!!!

In May I was handed the chance to lead the way at the BU Summer Ball our flagship event for Bournemouth University and carry out the coverage for Nerve Media (Bournemouth Student Radio). I got to rub noses and carry out interviews with the likes of Rudimental, Justin Martin, Everything Everything & High Contrast. This was a real eye opener and really told me that I was really in the right industry for myself. What a bloodyyy day that was. 

On top of that I have also completed the Nerve FM Breakfast Show which was a huge honour to lead Nerve through our 'Freshers FM' Fortnight something we are immensely proud of. Getting the Head of Music role on the committee at Nerve, DnB takeover and the SRA trips. I have earned myself an intern role with J Fresh at Fire FM and he has lead me so far learning skills from him and finally interviewing Bondax & Applebottom has also been great fun as well. 

I really hope in 2014 I can push myself even further and look forward to many more opportunities to come my way. BIG UP 2013!!!
